Theresa did a great job with our puppies. She was on time and on track with one of the puppy's daily meds and sent pictures of the puppies all snuggled in. We will definitely call her back to sit with our puppies in the future. Thanks.

If you are on the fence about Charity, I hope this interview helps you decide. Charity watched our dog at our house for 5 days in a row. Before accepting, she did an in person consultation and was prepared with her own questions and requested anything necessary to provide the best service possible. She communicated prior to, and daily, with text, pictures and/or video. She can manage multiple clients at the same time and will not compromise on your agreements. These things may be a given but to be explicit - our dog was nurtured, nothing was damaged or stolen, she helped with the trash removal. Thank you for your time, skill, and excellence!

Brandy is great! She is very reliable and communicative. I have a large dog who can be a lot to handle around other dogs and she does great with him. Brandy also house sat for me when my dog had a minor injury. She was on top of managing his care and reporting on his progress while I was away--and sent lots of great pictures. To boot, I returned to a very clean house. I highly recommend Brandy!

I was super nervous having someone new stay with Zorro, because it’s been a long time. Due to a new nephew who wanted to make an early entrance to the world, I had to find someone on short notice. Linda has been amazing! We were able to do a meet and greet right away. She has been so patient and flexible, even adding an extra day so I could stay to help family. She took great care of Zorro and kept me updated. I am very grateful and would definitely recommend her to take care of your fur babies!

Sue is the perfect dog sitter. She brings her own food and drink. Stays all day and night. Cleans up and takes her garbage out. Sends lots of pictures and videos and is great with our dog Thor. You can tell she really loves what she does. I think Thor misses her after she left! If she is available book her. You won't regret it.

About: I’ve always had at least one animal since i was a child, I’ve worked as a kennel tech and I’ve been to vet school! I have a couple cats and a dog, they are my WORLD!! My dog had a bad life before I adopted him, and I completely trained him myself with very little help. He is a perfect, well behaved angel now! My schedule is pretty open! I am a stay at home wife and I’m in school, so I have plenty of time on my hands to care for your pets! I am thoroughly knowledgeable on all things dog safety related, my pooch has had a rough go at it so I’ve take courses on animal CPR, de-escalation training, and I am familiar with taking care of animals with health issues. Every pet is different and they all need varying levels of care and comfort requirements.

Mark was absolutely wonderful with our dogs! So attentive and went above and beyond, especially during a very stressful time for animals…4th of July. He was very communicative, and we always knew what was going on with our pups regularly. It meant so much to us that we could relax on vacation knowing they were well taken care of! Will definitely be working with Mark in the future!

About: I’ve had dogs and cats growing up! Growing up, I was often hired to help out neighbors and family friends to watch their pets. I’ve worked in roles caring for young children so I am very patient and love to be active. I am currently a law student and very reliable and would love to spend time with your pets! I am currently a student at Creighton University School of Law. I have classes sporadically Monday-Thursday with midday breaks. I am free every Friday through Sunday all day long. I will be able to check on pets on weekdays while on breaks and all weekend. I am flexible with my schedule! I am tidy and considerate when coming into your home. I will ensure your pets are well taken care of and spend as much time with them as I can. I am flexible to different settings, pets, and schedules.

Linda is an absolute angel. Our rescue Fritz was diagnosed with heart worm disease recently and the vet appointment for his treatment happened to be when we needed to be out of state for my husband and I’s wedding. Our dog was a stray before we got him and has a difficult time warming up to people. We were searching high and low for someone who had experience with anxious dogs and caring for pets with medical needs and found reviews for Linda’s clients who also had pets who were shy or had medical needs. Linda not only kept up on all his medications but also took him to and from the vet for his appointment AND followed up with the vet after to ensure he was receiving the best care. I can’t begin to describe the blessing it was to know our furry son was taken care of and loved while we were away. She sent photos regularly and when I checked in (I tend to worry and check in a bunch) she responded immediately. When we got delayed on our trip home she did not hesitate to stay and keep him company. If you are a pet parent who loves your pet as if it were your only child, I promise you your pet will be in good hands with Linda.

About: Hi! I’m Olivia, and I love taking care of animals! I have 10 years of experience taking care of many different animals including senior, special needs, puppy & adult dogs, large & small breeds. Cats, kittens, guinea pigs, various small animals; bunnies, rats, mice, fish, you name it. I even ran my own hamster rescue, having 18 hamsters at once, years ago. I’ve volunteered at the animal shelter growing up because I just love dogs so much! I’ve been pet sitting for friends & neighbors for 5+ years now. I have had 5 dogs throughout my childhood, probably would’ve had 12 cats too, if my grandpa wasn’t allergic, safe to say i’m addicted to animal lovings! I currently have a Great Pyrenees & lab mix currently that are spoiled rotten. Need someone who understands your pets special needs- like medicine, potty breaks, and the dog who won’t eat their treat until you turn around and look away from them? I’m your gal! This is more than just a job for me, it’s dedication & passion! I can do whatever will meet your babies needs, short or long term! Housesitting experience aswell. I’m amazing with animals & am very friendly, trustworthy, & dependable. I offer overnight boarding, pet & house sitting, doggy daycare, drop in visits & lots of love! I work part-time as a server, in the mornings from 5:30am- 11:30am on Thursday & Fridays. Sundays from 5:30am-2pm. Otherwise I have open availability for your furbabys needs. Your baby will be cared for around the clock, and there is always somebody home to watch the pups! I have a fully fenced in huge backyard with my two friendly dogs, Serenity & Halo, to keep yours company with outdoor supervisions and playing & exploring with my dogs. If needed, my dogs can be kept away and your dogs have their own private room, and or also kenneled when needed, we have a large kennel unless provided. I am also available for in house pet sitting aswell as walks, check-ins, etc. I have experience with in-house and just got done watching my neighbors 3 dogs for a month long pet & house sit. Your pup will be treated as one my own babies! Dogs are allowed on furniture around here. Our home is clean & mostly dog proofed. Will provide picture updates & videos. Love gardening and can keep your plants alive while you’re away.

About: I've grown up with always more than one animal in the household, and loving them is second nature. When my family and friends need someone to help take care of the pets, I am always the first option! I have taken care if lots of cats and dogs, but a few fish throughout the years too. I have experience not only with general pet care such as, feeding, walking, playing/enrichment, but also with giving medications. Some dog breeds I have worked with (or lived with) are German Shepards, Yellow Labs, and mutts that are a mix of medium/bigger dogs or small dachshund mixes. And a lot of different cat personalities! The distant and quiet ones who keep to themselves and the ones who need your attention the second you walk through your door! Either way, I have always loved them no matter what, and continue to love them still. I am not currently working so my days are opened for anything, anytime! I may be finding a part time job soon, if I do not have lots of pets to watch, but something that still keeps my schedule open and flexible. I am always willing to wake up early or stay up late because I have the free time and flexibility! In my home, my cat never has a missed meal, he has clean and running water 24/7, and a handful of toys available for enrichment! A handheld laser always nearby for sudden play time is anecessity! As for my client's pets, I will always follow instructions step by step and detail by detail, no matter if feeding times includes something silly to get the fur baby to actually eat their food, I will always do it! And I am not the kind of person to just stop in, do what I need to do, and leave. I will make sure the pet is well loved and knows that I am there for them.

About: I have had dogs around me since I was born. I watch my sister’s dogs often. I have also let friend’s dogs out and walked them. I have dog sat for almost 2 weeks at a time before as well. I had 2 dogs and raised them from puppies till they passed. My sister fosters dogs and I help out with them as well. I work full time as a teacher Monday thru Friday. I can let dogs out before work and after work. Most weekends are free and I am able to let dogs out or walk whenever needed. I would let dogs out on a leash if it is not fenced in or out in the fenced yard. I would give lots of pets and make sure they are well cared for. I love walking so I would always be ready to take a dog on a walk.

We can't say enough of how much we appreciate Jack and Kate. They came to our rescue last minute when another sitter left us with zero notice the day before we were flying out for two weeks. They were excellent with our pups and kept us showered in pics of them. We have a difficult dog, and we can tell he was very well taken care of. Thanks again - you saved our trip!

FAQs for House Sitting - Ascot

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of September 2026, there are 638 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Ascot. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Ascot walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Ascot maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ascot choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ascot. On Rover:

  • 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
