“Maverick already loves his “grandparents” so much. We really appreciated the updates and pictures. He only did a day care day so far, but he was exhausted from his great day. We knew he was in great hands and are happy to have caring sitters for the future!”

“Lora is trustworthy, kind and experienced when it comes to animal care! I felt comfortable knowing my puppy was being taken care of with so much attention to detail and love. I will be using Lora again!”

“So glad we found Lydia! Freya has had limited exposure to different sitters and was quite anxious when I dropped her off but Lydia and her children put her right at ease. She had a wonderful time, didn't even want to go home! I will definitely use Lydia again!”

“Rodney and Marissa are wonderful! They took such good care of my Benji. Benji is rather shy and does not have many opportunities to socialize with other animals. When I told Rodney about this he assured me that they would help Benji to be comfortable around their pets, and they did just that. They sent photos of Benji running in the yard with his new furry friend. They also made sure that Benji stayed on his eating and napping schedule. Benji will definitely be visiting Rodney and Marissa again.”

“Lonnie was great! He was so good with our dogs and I felt so comfortable leaving them with him knowing they were in good hands! They had so much fun and didn't even want to leave. We couldn't ask for anyone better for our dogs!”

“We left our dog for four hours with Amber, and she was great! She was very responsive and sent us pictures of our dog while in her care. We would definitely use her in the future and highly recommend her to anyone looking for daycare.”

About: For as long as I can remember, dogs have been a huge part of my life. With over 15 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities, I’ve learned that every pup is different and deserves care that’s just as unique as they are. For the past 7+ years, I’ve also been fostering dogs through local rescues. Helping dogs transition from uncertain beginnings into loving homes has been incredibly rewarding and has given me experience with many different temperaments, energy levels, and personalities. The idea of boarding dogs in my home came from a challenge I faced myself — finding a place that truly felt safe, loving, and comfortable for my own dogs when I had to go away. I wanted more than just a place for them to stay. I wanted them to feel cared for, understood, and treated like family. When your dog stays with me they will enjoy plenty of safe, supervised playtime in a large, fully fenced yard, giving them space to run, explore, and burn off those zoomies. Whether your dog loves active play or relaxing cuddle time, their comfort, safety, and happiness always come first. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. We’re used to having dogs around and all the activity and responsibility that comes with them, so caring for pets feels like a normal part of everyday life. When we don’t have any extras here, the house actually feels a little too quiet—like something is missing! I want every pet in my home to feel as comfortable and at home as possible. I try to keep their routine and familiar comforts as much as I can—if they sleep in the bed at home, they’re welcome in the bed here; if they love curling up on the couch, that’s where they’ll be. My goal is to make their stay feel like a vacation, not a kennel stay. I want them to feel safe, relaxed, loved, and right at home while their family is away.
“I highly recommend Auana as she is expertly took care of my pup while I was at work. She made sure to ask all the right questions to provide the right care. Norbert and I both were impressed with communication and attention during his stay. Thanks again!”

“Lingli came through for our last minute doggy daycare needs and we are grateful! She was consistently responsive over messages, and was very sweet to our small dog, Gary, during their meet and greet, gently letting him get used to her. He was excited to see her again when we returned for drop off a couple days later. We appreciated the photos of his stay and know he was well looked after.”

“Our dog, Brandi, had such a fun time at Brenda's house for Doggy Day Care. Brenda is very kind and truly enjoys what she does. She kept me updated throughout the day with texts and pictures. Her resident dog, Willow, also made Brandi feel right at home. Brenda takes wonderful care of our dog and we will definitely request her services for future doggy day care or overnight stays.”

“Megan was so helpful and welcoming, she has a great space for dogs and a wonderful family. She was very attentive to what my dog needed and always gave updates throughout the day. I’ll definitely be coming back so my dog can have fun with her and her family”

“Brianna was a joy to work with. We dropped our pup off in the morning and we were sent photos and updates which was wonderful. I strongly recommend Brianna if you’re looking for an engaged and thoughtful dog sitter. 10/10!”

“My dog had a great time with Felice. He has stayed with her family many times and he has always been well cared for. Based on his excitement whenever we pull up to her house, I can say with certainty that my dog is happy to spend the day or the night with Felice.”

“Milo was nervous when I dropped him off but he quickly adjusted. Thank you Phyo for caring for him and taking him for walks. I would definitely recommend as I see you have a gentle way with pets.”

“Layla has been coming to Dan’s for a few weeks now. She comes home happy and tired! He is easy to communicate with and his outdoor space is giant. Plenty of space to run around. I recommend!”

About: I have had pets since a child (duck, rabbit, dogs, cats, iguanas) and just love them. I let dogs take their time when exploring and I don’t rush them unless I see that they have found a Scooby snack. Most dogs prefer to sit in my lap even when in the presence of their owner. They love me and I love them even the sassiest of them. I work from home which allows me to be available 24 hours a day. If your pet is a foodie, they will love it here (salmon bites, duck necks, chicken feet, ice cream, pup cups and frozen fruit on hot days). I will send an update the first evening and the morning after so you are certain that they have settled in. Thereafter I will send a picture or video daily but you are welcomed to check in at any time. My assistant Imani (my mom who lives with and assists with sitting), also enjoys loving on and helping with your babies. She may help with check in/ check out and walks. **I now have a cat and cannot accept dogs that aren’t cat friendly. I also cannot accept unfixed dogs and dogs that aren’t housebroken. I walk 3-5 miles in the morning and another in the evenings (less depending on the weather). I would love to take your baby along. I have a friendly dog. I use baby gates and can also crate your dog (you must bring the crate with you). They would sleep in my bedroom on the dog beds and have free range of the house (except the kitchen which has a gate up).

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Arthur Ridge commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
