Brooke took her time to come out and meet with us and our dogs prior to watching them. She took the time to listen to us and answer questions that we had. She was also easy to contact leading up to our trip. Unfortunately, circumstances canceled our trip. But we will not hesitate to contact and use her once again.

Hailey was so great with our pup! She gave good updates and let us know how he was each day with photo updates. She was also so professional and we loved working with her. Will definitely book again - especially because Kiba loved her!

Was very pleased with how well she took care of Hershey. He does not like fireworks and she sat with him while the fireworks are going off up the road. She’s already scheduled to come back and watch her again. I would recommend her to watch anybody’s pet.

Kate was excellent! We booked her for an overnight stay for our (in our house) - to keep him company since he has a little separation anxiety. She was very responsive in our communication and with the our pups needs. Our boy is sometimes shy with new people but he took to her right away and he even hung next to her while we did our initial meet up. She catered to him (walks, waters, and lots of cuddles) while she stayed and she left the house as she found it and was very respectful! Highly recommended!

If you’re looking for a great pet/house sitter, Riley is your person. Riley took great care of my pup and fish, checked in daily with me, sent photos and provided daily walks each day. At the end of the stay, Riley summarized Toby’s week, including highlights and household things she did on a sheet of paper. Riley is very reliable and I’ll definitely book her again in the future.

About: I have experience training dogs of all sizes and ages. My family had dogs throughout the entirety of my childhood, giving me a deep appreciation for pets of all kinds growing up. I gained further training and experience through my employment at Petco as an operations specialist. Pet care has been a part of my daily routine for the entirety of my life. Whether it was making a special dinner for a picky-eater dog that needed medication, taking a rambunctious puppy out into the yard to relieve their energy, or taking multiple dogs out for a walk to make sure they get their exercise, pet care isn't just an addition to my routine, it is an integral structure to it. I have experience taking pets outside both in a yard and out on a leash for a walk. I have experience giving medication to animals of all kinds, as well as transferring animals into and out of crates/carriers.

Kaitlin did a wonderful job staying in our home with our dog and cat. We had a meet and greet at our house prior to our vacation and our pets both seemed comfortable with her immediately. After the meet and greet she sent us detailed notes for us to review to ensure she captured the details and nuances of our pets. During the day she was communicative and sent photos. It was clear she treated our pets as if they were her own. When we returned our house was just as we had left it and Kaitlin even left some treats she had gotten for our dog. We will definitely be using Kaitlin the next time we go out of town!

Kerri always does amazing with our girl. She is a timid and nervous dog, but Kerri stayed with her a few days and was so patient. Rose really opened up to her throughout their time together and we could not be more grateful. She always does an amazing job at keeping our house tidy while she stays. She always goes above and beyond!

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover with hands-on experience caring for both cats and dogs of all sizes, including my two cats and my 80 lb English yellow lab. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and I genuinely love getting to know each pet’s unique personality, needs, and routines. I’m patient, attentive, and dependable, and I like to think I have a special connection with animals and an instinct for understanding what makes them feel comfortable, safe, and happy. Whether your pet loves playtime, long walks, cuddles, or simply calm companionship, I’ll make sure they feel cared for and loved while you’re away. I’m available for dog walks and drop-in visits for cats and dogs, and I treat every pet like family! Lastly, I am also comfortable giving pets medications as my dog Gigi has allergies and takes some medication and supplements. Also I have had to give medicines for multiple cats over the years including inhaler treatments. Currently my elderly cat Mrs. Norris is 17 and living with cancer. She is taking a few medicines to keep her comfortable before it’s time. We have lots of snuggles on her heated blanket, look out the window and bask in the sun. I understand the extra care and love your older animal needs. I look forward to getting know your fur babies!! You could say: Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I am currently home while my children are out of school. I genuinely enjoy caring for animals and have the time and flexibility to provide consistent attention, exercise, feeding, companionship, and general care throughout the day. Caring for pets complements my lifestyle and is something I find both rewarding and fulfilling. I care for pets by following their regular routine, including feeding, providing fresh water, exercise, potty breaks, playtime, and lots of attention. I make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while in my care. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow all instructions provided, keep the home tidy, and provide updates so owners know their pets are doing well. I am dependable, attentive, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals.

We recently had Hailey stay with our 2 older labs (one is blind and requires insulin), 2 cats and a gecko while we were away on vacation for a week. Hailey was wonderful! She kept us updated along with photos of our pups and handled medications and feedings schedules with ease. This was honestly the first time we didn’t worry while on vacation. When we arrived home, our pups and cats were happy and the house was as clean and tidy as it was when we left. I highly recommend Hailey. She is professional, honest, respectful, reliable and very sweet. Thank you Hailey!

Hailey recently watched our three dogs and two cats while we were out of town. She took such good care of them and was in constant contact with us, going above and beyond to care for our physically disabled cat. I truly felt like she cared for our animals as if they were her own. Knowing that she could handle everything, we were able to relax completely on our vacation. We always felt connected and knew our pets were safe and happy. If you are looking for a pet sitter who is reliable, responsible, and genuinely compassionate—especially if you have a multi-pet household or pets with special needs—I cannot recommend Hailey highly enough!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Arthur Ridge on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 8,623 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Arthur Ridge. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Arthur Ridge walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Arthur Ridge maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Arthur Ridge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Arthur Ridge. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
