“Hy and Arlo were great sitters for our pup during a long vacation. It was his first time staying for a long period of time somewhere unfamiliar and Hy put us right at ease. Right off the bat, they seemed very comfortable with our pup and very confident around dogs generally, and pup took right to exploring their spacious home with a nice, fenced in backyard. Our dog is dog-reactive and they had ideas for best routes to walk him in their neighborhood. During our trip, they were able to use their intuitiveness to troubleshoot some barking at night. When we picked him up, we could tell he took a real liking to Hy while we were gone. Thanks Hy and Arlo for taking such good care of our guy while!”

About: I am a veterinary technician with 16 years of experience providing skilled, compassionate care for pets of all ages. I specialize in senior and medically inclined pets, in-home boarding, medication administration, and creating a calm, safe, nurturing environment where pets feel comfortable and secure. I work Tuesday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Pets are never left unattended for long periods, and if a pet needs to accompany me to work for continued care or supervision, I can safely accommodate this. Evenings, overnights, weekends, and Mondays are fully dedicated to pet care, boarding, medication administration, and attentive companionship I provide a safe, structured, and nurturing environment in my apartment with a large, secure outdoor courtyard for supervised exercise and enrichment. The building has elevators and multiple exit points, allowing for safe, controlled movement during potty breaks, walks, and emergencies. Pets are closely monitored at all times to ensure comfort, security, and well-being.

Daisy got lots of outdoor time and was happy and healthy throughout her stay. Daisy has a ton of energy and was able to get the exercise she needed and great friendship from Goose. “I found myself in a bit of a bind. My partner was going into a last minute surgery and we needed to find someone to take care of our dog on short notice. I reached out to Dvora and almost immediately heard back. I appreciated Dvora's request to have my dog come by her house and hang out for an hour just to see how she reacted to other dogs and to Dvora's home. Thankfully my dog seemed to adapt well and we confirmed boarding for 3 nights. Over the next few days I got regular updates and even a couple photos which really helped ease my mind that my dog was well taken care of. My partner's surgery went well but we had to stay in the hospital an extra night. Dvora was able to accommodate boarding our dog one more night. Overall, I really appreciate how thoughtful Dvora was in the care of our dog. She really understands the behavioral pattern of dogs. She has a nice backyard which I appreciate because my dog had the space to run around and play. My dog even got along super well with a different dog Dvora was taking care of. About: I’ve been around animals my whole life and genuinely enjoy taking care of them. I’ve helped friends, family, and neighbors with feeding, walks, playtime, and just making sure their pets feel comfortable while they’re away. I’m really attentive to each pet’s routine and personality, whether that means keeping up with high energy dogs or giving extra patience and care to more shy or older pets. I’ll always keep you updated so you feel at ease knowing your pet is in good hands. I have a very flexible work schedule which allows me stay present and keep your dog's routine consistent. I like to get out during my lunch and after work (coffee runs around Alameda, check out garage sales and other events happening in the area), so me and your dog gets fresh air and activity. Being home means more attention, regular potty breaks and a comfortable, low stress environment while you're away. I live in a second floor apartment in a really walkable area in Alameda. There's a little communal garden/yard in my complex and Franklin Park is less than 5 minutes away. I feel like my spot works for all types of dogs. If they're high energy we can go on longer walks by the beach and if they're more chill we can just take a slower walk and enjoy the scenery. I keep dogs on leash when we're out and just make sure they feel comfortable and settles while they're away from home.

About: I enjoyed house-sitting for various friends and family through college. I grew up owning a dog, and my ASD-focused high school had a weekly dog class requirement that, in addition to simple training classes, used dogs as a metaphor for understanding nonverbal communication. Because of that, I can easily intuit how animals are feeling in a given moment. I always approach cats and dogs with a calm persona, trying to meet them on their level. Happy to be either a cuddle buddy or a meal ticket! I was recently laid off from my 9-5, and I’ve decided to switch my gears for a while. I’m available almost full-time. However, I am a freelance musician with an infrequent and unpredictable performance schedule. I’ll always strive to keep my availability as up-to-date as possible to avoid any potential surprises. As I stated previously, I’m always working to make any animal feel safe around me, and that they can trust me. When I first meet a cat or dog, I always kneel to meet them at their level. At home, I live simply. I’m not ashamed to call myself a homebody. I do practice frequently, but I can take measures to greatly reduce my volume or simply avoid practice during an extended stay, pending any future gigs. I live in a condo right on the estuary, with a walking path that leads right to Jack London Sq. There are other dog owners in the building. It’s a good community, and right by Estuary Park. I may not have a backyard, but it’s a darn good compromise.
