About: I've been around and taken care of dogs my entire life. Through my own pets along with friends and family, I've been trusted to care for a variety of dogs thru out the years. Thanks for trusting me with your best fur friend! I'm currently working PT and obtaining my yoga teacher training course so I have plenty of open availability for services whether thats dog walking or sitting. I have a fenced in yard where my own dog Cosmo plays and can certainly crate your dog if needed. I am also available for dog sitting and am comfortable with any home set up.

Hana swooped in when we needed someone in an emergency and quickly adapted and took amazing care of our dogs and home while we were 8 hours away. We came home to a clean home and well cared for dogs. She was quick to respond and even took our dogs on a walk (after ensuring that was ok with us). We will definitely be reaching out to Hana again and highly recommend her!

Erica was prompt with all communication and I’m pretty sure my home is cleaner than I left it. I appreciated her frequent updates, especially considering our dog can be a handful. I’m glad to have found a trustworthy sitter who is willing to care for our pet in our own home. We’ve already booked her again!

I’m always very nervous when I have to leave my pup because he has separation anxiety, but he connected so well with Allie and she gave him so much extra love! She went above and beyond sending me pictures and updates multiple times a day and left no room for worry. I’ll definitely book again with her in the future.

Melissa was an absolute dream to work with for my two standard poodles! She stayed at my house while I was away, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. When I came home, the house actually looked better than when I left it — everything was neat, clean, and in perfect order. She sent wonderful photos and updates throughout the trip, which gave me so much peace of mind knowing my pups were happy and well cared for. I came home to happy, relaxed, well-exercised dogs who clearly adored her. This was hands-down the best pet sitting experience I’ve ever had. I will definitely be using Melissa again for future trips! Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Deborah was Great! She took excellent care on my 2 fur babies! She was very attentive and loving. I loved the photos and updates during the days, kept my mind at ease. When we returned, they were happy and well fed. I can see that Deborah went out of her way to make sure that they ate, cause my pups never eat when we leave them. She left the house meticulous, I will definitely be booking Deborah for my future trips!! ?. Thank you Deborah

About: Everybody knows me by the dog lover. If I can take every dog in the world I would. I have 2 years of experience at a dog daycare. As well as a years with my own dog. That’s not including the animals I grew up with. I can take care of all ages from Puppy to senior. If your dog can’t go up and down flights of stairs I would suggest your place. I am currently working part time at a dog daycare. I’ll be available for boarding any day out the week. I’ll be able to do 2 dogs a night depending on the size if we board at my house. I am able to dog sitt and board at your house or mines. We will go on hikes and do daily training. I will proved Beding and blankets. As well as water and if you don’t provide the food I can. I am able to walk your dog multiple times threw out the day as well as going on long walks. I do not live in a house so I don’t have a fenced yard. Your dog will be fed 2-3 times a day depending on what you prefer. And water will be available threw out the day. No matter what your fur baby will be treated at my house the same way I would treat them at your house with love and affection.

I have used Kelly for House Sitting with my dogs a couple of times. Each time, I was pleased to know that the pups were being cared for, loved on and in the comfort of their own home. I previously had 2 Dobermans that Kelly cared for, and she has now met my new Doberman Senja, who I recently adopted as my other 2 had since passed. Dobermans can be very sensitive and have stomach problems when stressed out. But under Kelly's care, I have never come home to a pup with stomach issues like I do if I use a boarding facility. Kelly is always reliable and communicates on a daily basis with pictures of the pups. It truly allows us to enjoy our vacations and not stress about what is going on at home with our dogs since we are confident that they are in Kelly's care. It was important to me that a sitter not be intimidated by the breed. My previous Dobermans were leery of strangers until they warmed up, and she handled them without hesitation. My newly adopted Senja took to Kelly right away.

Lucas (Jorges son) treated our dogs to tons of snuggles and plenty of walks, he had good communication and held to our rather strict rules. When we came home our house exactly as we had left it. Lucas was very conscientious. (With the oversight of his parents). Our dogs were happy. Do not hesitate to reach out to Jorge.

About: I worked in a vet clinic as a teenager. Very comfortable with all breeds of dogs and cats. Can also care for other pets in household (fish, birds, rodents) I'm employed part-time and have a great deal of flexibility to adjust my hours to accommodate your pet's schedule and individual needs. I will adhere to my clients requests for their individual pets. All pets have their own personality and schedule, and being sensitive to that helps pets be less stressed when their owners are away.

Natalie took great care of our dog while we were away. I had some concerns leaving our dog with a stranger for the first time because he can be protective of his home. Natalie made the time to come meet our pup at a neutral spot and then headed to the home so he could get use to her in his environment. The meet and greet went well and our dog was excited to see her when she came to stay overnight. Natalie was very quick when returning my texts and calls. She took great care of our pup while we were away and we will use her again in the future.

Abby was a life saver for us. We usually use family to help with our pets so using someone not family brought me a level of anxiety i wasn’t ready for. First impression of Abby was professional and prompt. The animals Immediately loved her and she asked all the right questions to ease this fur mom’s anxiety. Having her able to stay at our home was added peace of mind. We came home to happy pets and a clean home. I’m so thankful to have found Abby.

FAQs for House Sitting - Arkendale

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of September 2026, there are 3,397 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Arkendale. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Arkendale walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Arkendale maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Arkendale choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Arkendale. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
