“Was amazing with our anxious dog and cat. She listened to all our instructions starting from the meet & greet to the house sit. Our pets loved her! Definitely recommend for your next booking and will be requesting Aubrianna again”

“Dominique was fantastic. She arrived on time to accommodate a last-minute request. She was very friendly and took good care of my dogs. I look forward to working with her again.”

“Ashely’s communication was AMAZING! She sent pictures often and very knowledgeable in dog parenting needs. I was very anxious leaving and she made me feel SO much better and I was able to relax knowing my dog was well taken care of .”

“After our recent move to North Carolina, we found ourselves in a position where we needed a pet sitter. Having never left our pets with anyone but family we were apprehensive as to who we could find, and trust, with our fur babies. We turned to Rover to find someone. After reading what seemed like hundreds of profiles and reviews - we carefully chose Allie. Allie was quick to respond and agreed to a meet and greet. Our rambunctious, and loud, retrievers met her at the front door where Allie scooped them into a hug and it was “love at first site” for our pups!! Allie was very attentive to our detailed instructions, asked for clarification, on anything she did not understand, and was concerned with keeping the dogs and our two cats on their normal routines. During our weekend away, we received multiple reports as well as amazing pictures. It was apparent that Allie cared for, and loved, our pets as if they were her own. Allie went above and beyond anything we could have expected - even befriending our “leary of strangers” cat. We cannot say enough about Allie, her obvious love and care for our pets, and the comfort she gave us to leave them with her!! Thank you Allie!!”

“We loved having Tiffany as our house sitter while on vacation this past week! She is always so attentive to our pups and makes a huge effort to care for them when we are gone. I love when she texts us pictures to show how they are doing. We love Tiffany!”

“Peyton did another great job with my dogs and cat! Peyton is amazing with animals, super loving! She sends photo updates, and is extremely punctual and responsible. I recommend her wholeheartedly!”

“Ragan was great as always. Especially with a last minute trip. I know Siggy boy is in great hands with her. Probably with mentioning the place is always clean when we get back, too. Thank you so much Ragan!”

“Erica was great! She was great with my dogs and constantly updated me. I came home to a clean house and happy dogs. Thanks so much Erica and hope we can use you again!”

“Melissa was an absolute dream to work with for my two standard poodles! She stayed at my house while I was away, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. When I came home, the house actually looked better than when I left it — everything was neat, clean, and in perfect order. She sent wonderful photos and updates throughout the trip, which gave me so much peace of mind knowing my pups were happy and well cared for. I came home to happy, relaxed, well-exercised dogs who clearly adored her. This was hands-down the best pet sitting experience I’ve ever had. I will definitely be using Melissa again for future trips! Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”

“Chris did an absolutely wonderful job taking care of our 2 dogs! He was very communicative and sent multiple pictures throughout the day. We didn’t need to check in because he gave us regular updates on how they were doing, unprompted. Our dogs have definitely gained a new best friend after this. We look forward to having Chris stay with our dogs again in the future ☺️”

“Deborah was a wonderful sitter for our 11 year old shih tzu. She took great care of him, the house, and was great at communicating and sending updates. We’ll absolutely have her watch Teddy again!”

“Paul did a fantastic job sitting for our dogs. Paul provided overnight care and our dogs were very happy when we arrived back from our trip. I would definitley book w Paul again and I would recommend him to anybody looking for a trustworthy sitter in the area.”

About: I adore animals, and have sat for both dogs and cats for almost two years. I also have a dog of my own—a pitbull terrier rescue named Anne. I'm willing to adapt to your pet's routines and drop by as many times as requested, or house sit if preferred. I've walked dogs big and small, and am capable of handling some pulling on walks. I am also capable of taking care of multiple pets at once, as well as managing medications and varying dietary requirements. I am a part time college student at Germanna, so I have relatively open availability and can base my own schedule around your pets' needs. I adhere to whatever routine or house rules I am given. I can stay and play with the pets to ensure that they don't get bored out of their minds, and visit at least a few times a day. For pets that stay kenneled between visits, I especially ensure that I spend plenty of time with them while I am there so they won't be cooped up. While outside or on walks, I make sure your pets are properly supervised and am attentive to my surroundings so that your pets stay safe. I can also give photo updates, so that you can see your pets are safe and happy :)
About: I've been around and taken care of dogs my entire life. Through my own pets along with friends and family, I've been trusted to care for a variety of dogs thru out the years. Thanks for trusting me with your best fur friend! I'm currently working PT and obtaining my yoga teacher training course so I have plenty of open availability for services whether thats dog walking or sitting. I have a fenced in yard where my own dog Cosmo plays and can certainly crate your dog if needed. I am also available for dog sitting and am comfortable with any home set up.
“Hieu and Anna were amazing! Zorro had the best time with them. Adorable pictures and excellent communication. I just wish we lived closer so they could watch Zorro all the time!”

“Matisa was wonderful with our 2 dogs and 2 cats! She even stayed an extra night at last minute when we were stranded at an airport on vacation. We appreciate her willingness to be flexible!”

Chris did a fantastic job with my pups and my house was just as I left it. He even won the trust of one of my girls who is very weary of men she does not know well. He was super responsive and sent me lots of pictures. He was also good about giving one of the pups her meds. Definitely recommend him and will hopefully have him watch the pups again.

Allie was wonderful! She took great care of our nine year old Golden Retriever, Brody, while we were away for the weekend. She sent us lots of pictures, took him on walks, and provided frequent updates. She also left our home very clean and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with her services. We also appreciated that she did a meet & greet before leaving to ensure we were a good fit and that she understood his needs. Highly recommend!

I had such a wonderful experience with Keitha! She took amazing care of my girl and made sure she was happy, comfortable, and well cared for while I was away. Keitha was reliable, caring, and kept me updated, which gave me so much peace of mind. I came home to a happy pup and a well kept house. I truly appreciate everything Keitha did and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving house sitter. I will definitely book with her again!

I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter! She was absolutely wonderful with my puppy and stayed with her throughout the entire day. She was very attentive, caring, and made sure my puppy was comfortable and well taken care of. I really appreciated the updates and knowing my puppy was in such good hands while I was away. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring to watch their fur baby. I will absolutely be booking with her again! 🐾❤️

This is the second time that Tanisha has pets it for me and she did a great job. She's very patient with my dogs, especially my dog who is reactive. The house was clean and tidy when I got home and both the dogs were extremely happy. I will happily have Tanisha sit for us again in the future.

I couldn’t be more satisfied with the care my dog received. From the start, communication was clear and reliable, which immediately gave me peace of mind. Steven followed all instructions, kept my home neat, and most importantly, treated my dog with genuine care and attention. 10/10!

Liza was amazing - She was super attentive to our Sweetie and Louis and communicated with us perfectly - She took very good care of our home and was super conscientious - We came home to happy and healthy puppies and that's all you can ask for - BOTTOM LINE: we'll be using Liza again FOR SURE and we appreciated her efforts, time, support and love - THANKS LIZA - You rock!!

Caroline house sat and watched our dog when we were out of town for a long weekend and was amazing! She came over three times days to walk and hang out with our dog and sent us pictures and updates each time. We never had to worry and our dog wasn’t lonely. Thanks Caroline!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Garrisonville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Garrisonville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Garrisonville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Garrisonville. On Rover:

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
