“Leon and his family took amazing care of my dogs for 3 weeks! The dogs were well taken care of and looked super happy. He took plenty of photos to let us know how they were doing. I would definitely be booking again when we need a dog sitter. Thank you guys so much for treating them like your own”
“Lori was extremely accommodating. She took care of my babies like they were her own. She sent me pics and update everyday!! She has three cutie patootie weenie dogs!!!”
“Michelle was very nice and kept me updated on our furry family member. She was very attentive to details and was respectful and asked before she tried new things with our pet.”
“Mia was very flexible and took care of my two animals, treating them as royalty. I had to extend my request a bit longer and she was able to accommodate. Received multiple updates during their stay as well as pictures, so I could definitely tell they were in great hands. Hands down, one of the best pet sitters I have dealt with since using this platform. THANK YOU, Mia B!!!”
“We just love Dana and feel so confident in her taking care of our dog when we have to be out of town. My dog absolutely loves her and his canine friends at her house. She sends cute pictures everyday so that we can see is happy, healthy and having fun. Thanks Dana!”
“Susan was absolutely wonderful! I left our dog with her while we went out of town for a week and she did an amazing job. She sent pictures, gave us daily updates, even sent a little report card home. She gave medicine as instructed and treats as well. Our other sitter moved away so Susan will be our new sitter. Highly recommended!”
“Mollie had a great time with Ashley and her family! From the many photos I was sent it looked like she was very well taken care of. I would definitely recommend Ashely and her family for your pet!”
“First time booking with the Yowells. We received daily updates on the dogs with pictures. Everything went great and we are very thankful (especially surprised they took our dogs for walks!). We will definitely be repeat customers in the future.”
“She is very friendly and helpful. Took good care of my babies (two cats) Didn't have to worry about them the weekend I went camping. She sent me many updates with pictures and videos. Would recommend her and plan on taking them to her when I need boarding care again. Thank you Wendy!”
“Elizabeth was awesome. She knew it was my boy first time and she was patient with him. She updated me with pictures, video and text. I am very satisfied with the care given to my boy.”
“Michelle was perfect to watch my puppy all week! She was so kind and sweet to my dog. She would even send photos of her everyday while we were gone and is very communicative. 10/10!”
“Andrea was amazing with our pups! It was our first time leaving them since we moved to a new state and she made us feel very comfortable with the meet & greet. She gave me daily pictures and made sure my pups felt at home. Cannot recommend enough!! Will be using her for every vacation coming up!”
“When we needed to board our dog, the decision was easy - Angela. Our dog is 15 years old and needs 3 daily meds. Angela handled this easily. If you want pictures of your dog, she is your sitter. There is no doubt that we will use Angela again.”
“Provided last minute care, and our pup returned well cared for. This sitter does not provide pictures (or at least didn’t to us), so just something to be mindful of.”
Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Arcadia
Ashley and family are amazing. We have been labrador owners for 32 years and this was the first time we ever had to leave one of our pets with anyone other than family or a neighbor. Her communication was top-notch. We felt comfortable and confident with him in her care the whole time. Ashley will definitely be Bodie’s home away from home
Ashley was an amazing doggy sitter for our puppy! Savannah had space to run and play and tons of love and attention while we were traveling out of state. I’m so glad we found Ashley instead of using a traditional kennel. We will be back for some doggy daycare and for any future trips!
Such an incredible sitter! Ashley watched my boys over the winter holiday and I just know they had the time of their life. She has plenty of space for running around and took care of them like they were her own. She was very communicative and sent photos and updates regularly. Would absolutely consider using her again to sit my boys if she’s free!
This is our second trip for the year and Haurli's third stay since February 2025. Haurli was a little sad this trip and Jolie made sure to give her extra love and cuddles to help her feel better. Thank you for the daily updates and pictures. We'll see you next time!!!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Arcadia home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Arcadia.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Arcadia sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
