“Alyssa was very professional and everything went perfectly smooth! She braved the wind and rain and made sure to update us that he went #1 and #2 which is always important for us pet parents to keep track of lol. She made sure she had time to snuggle with him before she left, and filled his water bowl. I could tell Dingo was content when I came home! I will definitely use Alyssa again in the future”

“Sherry took our menagerie of dogs and cats in stride when she arrived and she handled my dog Duncan with ease during the walk. She obviously loves animals and my dog, who is sometimes shy with strangers, immediately liked her and will be happy to see her the next time she comes. I highly recommend her if you need a good caretaker for your pets.”

“Courtney went the extra mile by coming to meet us the day before our booking, which we truly appreciated. She’s not only friendly and punctual but also has a deep knowledge of dogs that immediately put us at ease. Our high-energy Australian Shepherd, Millie, was thrilled to meet her, and Courtney handled her enthusiasm with ease. Today, Courtney came by to walk Millie while we were out, and once again, she was punctual and professional. She left us thorough notes and sent a few photos, so we knew Millie was in excellent hands. We’ve already arranged for Courtney to stay with Millie for a few days while we’re away, confident that she will be well cared for.”

“100% would recommend Christin to anyone! She is so professional and kind, the dogs love her. Such a sweet, responsible, courteous person., I cannot say enough good things about her!”

About: I have over 10 years of experience caring for dogs of all sizes and ages. I’m comfortable with boarding, walks, drop-ins, feeding, meds, playtime, and senior pups who need a little extra love. I work from home, so I have a flexible schedule and can fit in visits when your pets need them. I can usually accommodate same-day or last-minute drop-ins, and I’ll make sure your pets get attention on your timetable. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priority. I provide a calm, clean, and secure environment for every visit. I follow all your instructions carefully, from feeding to exercise routines, and will treat your pets with the same love and attention I give my own. You can trust me to keep their space safe, maintain their routine, and give you peace of mind while you’re away.
About: I have had dogs since I was a toddler and have grown up caring for them. I currently have one of my own (8yrs) who is my entire world. I currently work full time for a consulting firm but I am looking to do pet care part time. My weekends are usually open and weeknights are also pretty flexible. Pet sitting is my way of stopping myself from getting another dog. I love spending time with all animals, but especially in places where they feel comfortable. Each visit will involve a walk and some play time and a lot of love. I try to get my own dog out as much as possible so I would aim to do the same for yours as well.
About: I got my first dog at the age of 10 and trained him myself, aswell as other family dogs we grew to love over the years. Now 30, I have 2 pups of my own that I’ve given my whole world to. I love my animals as if they are family and yours would be no different. I believe animals bring out the best in us & I try to bring the out the best in them when I can instill any behavioral help! I’m currently working part-time and spend the rest of my day as a homemaker while my son is in preschool so I would have plenty of time to handle your pups after I drop my son off in the morning. I can provide walks, medications, feedings and free play in our half-acre fenced in back yard. I follow your guide lines with meal times and breaks. What’s important to you is what I aim to achieve in my visits wether that be play time, picture updates or cuddling on the couch making sure they feel comfortable when they stay for a visit or I come into their space. If your pup is one that can be ornery and needs more supervision rest assured I’m always home and do not leave them unsupervised unless we have arranged for them to have a crate if I need to run out. These are all things we can discuss in a meet and greet!

I live on almost 4 acres now and a fenced in yard. I have my Pom. My mom is also living with me now in a basement apartment and she has two smaller dogs that are very friendly. “Melissa was great. My dog doesn’t always walk well for new people and he took to her right away. She took the time to come by for a meet and greet and we were really impressed!”

About: What sets me apart is my personal experience with dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and life stages. I’ve raised and cared for five dogs throughout my life, including Labs, Golden Retrievers, Chihuahuas, and German Shepherds, so I understand the very different needs of small, medium, and large breeds. I trained my own puppy from 8 weeks old, teaching her a wide range of tricks and good behaviors, which gave me a lot of patience and training skills. I’m also comfortable handling more challenging dogs as one of my Chihuahuas was very aggressive, which taught me how to read body language and safely manage reactive pets, from a young age. In addition, I have extensive experience caring for senior dogs. I’ve helped raise multiple dogs into old age, including a German Shepherd that lived until 15, and a Labrador Retriever that lived until 17! I understand the gentleness, and care older dogs require. Overall, I bring a lot of confidence to this role because of my genuine understanding of dogs at every stage of life. I just finished my undergrad and plan to be home all summer. I begin graduate school in the fall online and will practically have no big everyday commitments. I have a few vacations planned but besides that I am an open book willing to work anytime. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize keeping their routine as consistent as possible. (Dogs know their schedule!) I follow all instructions closely and carefully for any specific care needs. I make sure pets get plenty of attention, exercise so they feel comfortable while their owner is away. I have cared for dogs that experience extreme distress from their owner being gone and I have developed my skills to better care for dogs experiencing this. I’m also very attentive to behavior and health, so I can quickly notice if something seems off. I respect my client’s home by secure and exactly as I found it. My goal is to make both the pet, and the owner feel completely at ease, just as I would want if my dog was being watched.
About: I have always loved taking care of and spending time with all sorts of animals. I have personally trained two of my own dogs and have helped out with training for friends and family. I have walked and exercised dogs of all ages and sizes. I have raised puppies and kittens from birth and am very experienced with care before and after birth for the moms. I have taken care of reactive dogs and have dealt with many aggressive of leash dogs. I am currently a student at my local community college and I’ll be fully online for the summer, so I’ll have lots of time to take care of your pets! I have experience crating dogs, being with them out in the yard, or just in the house. It’s up to you how you want me to spend the time with them, but I’d prefer to be with them the whole time! I can take long walks, play in the yard for a long time or I can just cuddle with your pet or give them their space if that’s what they prefer.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
