About: Whether your dog is shy, elderly, boisterous, or just wants to sniff, my home and back yard are a fun and welcoming spaces for them to just be themselves. I’ve taken more than a dozen training classes with Dogs Best Friend Training, volunteered with Fetch Wisconsin, and cared for several beloved coonhounds, a Giant Schnauzer, and a few mutts, from puppyhood to the Rainbow Bridge. I have a special spot in my heart for older dogs, and even have a ramp exit from my home into the back yard, should anyone’s legs not do stairs. My current pup is a 35-lb terrier/pittie mix rescue I foster-failed with from FetchWI. She loves other dogs and is available for play at any time. I work from home full-time, leaving only for short errands, generally less than two hours every few days. Dogs at my house get frequent potty breaks and playtime in the spacious fenced back yard. Dogs are never left unsupervised outdoors. They can play with my resident dog, who is a very friendly gal with the motto “Delta Delta Delta can I help ya help ya help ya?”. If I have to be gone for a bit there is plenty of room to crate them, or possibly keep them in a separate space. Water is available at all times, indoors and out. For now, I am only accepting one guest dog at a time for daycare or overnight stays. Dropoff and pickup times are 7-9am and 4-6pm Monday through Saturday. Dogs can choose to spend time indoors or out, weather permitting. They can smell the ferns, check out the rain garden, play in the grass, run around under the firs, and say hello to the kids next door. They can zoom around with my resident dog, chill out on the deck or play toss and fetch with me. Indoors they can explore my downstairs and rest on a dog bed, or hang out near me on the futon or the bed. If the weather is too bad for outdoor play I can do informal training and play scent games with them. Dogs that stay three days or more will get a free bath unless requested otherwise.

“Christine did a great job with our Kenny! She sent pictures and texts for us to stay in touch with his activities as well. I appreciate her care to our third child! :)”

About: I grew up on a farm in Texas, where I had at least four dogs and six cats in the house throughout my life. I love pets more than anything! To that extent, I worked in a boarding kennel throughout high school and college before Rover existed. I now have five years of experience with Rover and Wag in multiple cities and states. My experience in boarding kennels and with Rover has allowed me to see and handle a wide range of situations in high-stress environments while having been professionally responsible for the safety and comfort of hundreds of animals. I will always provide compassionate care for your pets, as my goal is to make you feel comfortable and relaxed during your time away, just as much as your furry companions do with me. As a PhD student, I have the flexibility to read and write at home, and I enjoy alleviating stress with pet care. Additionally, my husband works from home, so the house almost always has a human or two around :) Pet safety is my number one priority. A close second is providing a comfortable and fun environment. For boarding and daycare, the basement is set up for pups to relax and play, and the house is segmented by gates to secure their safety as well as protect our belongings. I provide crates for separation if necessary, particularly around feeding time or depending on the night routine. Additionally, I have a spacious, fenced backyard (our favorite part of the house!), and I will always supervise pups when outside. I pick up poop immediately and keep an eye on whether curious mouths pick up things. For the extra adventurous pups, I also have a 30ft tie-out cable for additional security. Although I have a cat in the house, she stays exclusively in the primary bedroom, and with many gates and doors in place, the likelihood of the pups encountering her is extremely low. For drop-ins, I assure you that I will follow your directions and leave your home in the same condition as when you left it originally. My reviews can attest to that :)

10. Julie Z.
“I have known Julie for over 30 years. She is one of the most caring, loving, nurturing and knowledgeable Dog Mom's I have ever known. I have seen the support and guidance she has given to all kinds of Dog's in varied states of health. She has cared, trained and provided the home her foster's needed, and for a dog to be so lucky as to fail at foster and become her household companion is the day they won at a dogs life's lottery. She will give all to her animals. They, and I, are fortunate to have her as our friend. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for the best caretaker for petsitting.”
