About: I have had dogs since I was born! I think anyone who doesn't grow up with a dog pulled the short end of the stick. I grew up with huskies my whole life, and when I finally moved away for college, I knew I had to find a way to still hang out with dogs. My roommate has a yorkie who has become my best friend and I couldn't imagine my life without him. I have dealt with dogs ranging from 150 pounds to 5, so I am prepared for everything. About: Hi! My name is Nikki, I just graduated from UCSC with a B.S. in Neuroscience and a B.A. in Psychology and am now training as an EMT. I have a 3 year old cat named Mr. Whiskers that I adopted during my time in Santa Cruz and quite a few family pets - a 13 year old standard poodle, a 13 year old yorkie-poo, a 5 year old miniature labradoodle, and a 1 year old cat (along with a tortoise and some other exotic pets!). I have always loved dog-sitting for my neighbors, with breeds including german shepherds, golden retrievers, labs, doodles, jack russel's, and other mixed breeds. I'd been consistently dog-sitting for 4 years until I took a break being in Santa Cruz, since my client base is in Socal, but had committed myself to caring for my own cat and my friend's pets when they are out of town. When it comes to caring for your pet, I will dedicate just as much love and care as I do my own! Additionally, my cat has unfortunately had to deal with some urinary issues causing him to be on a permanent urinary prescription diet and having to take meds during his flare-ups. Because of this, I completely understand the struggles of caring for a loved pet with health issues. It has allowed me to be very comfortable with administering both pill and liquid forms of medication to pets and punctual with needed times of administration. I would love to take care of your fur babies for enrichment, feeding, playing, and anything you already do with them that helps them feel happy and comfortable! About: I have been both a cat and dog owner, and have taken care of friends' pets before. I do not have experience training puppies or taking care of senior or special needs animals! But I am responsible, responsive, and flexible. I like going for walks and also just relaxing with your pets at home. About: I’ve been raising and caring for dogs my entire life, from newborn puppies to senior dogs, so I understand how their needs change at every stage of life. One of my most special experiences was helping my Golden Retriever through the birth of 11 beautiful puppies. I cared for them from birth until they were ready for their new families, personally taking the time to interview potential homes to make sure each puppy would be loved and well cared for. I work part time and I can do weekdays from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm. For Sunday, I can do early morning anytime from 6-7 am and from 6-9 pm I believe pets feel safest and happiest when their normal routine is maintained, especially while their family is away. For dogs, I follow their usual schedule for feeding, walks, playtime, and companionship. I’m also comfortable preparing or cooking their food when requested. For cats, I respect their individual personalities—giving them affection and playtime when they seek it, while also understanding when they prefer their own space. I carefully follow each pet parent’s instructions and treat every pet with the same patience, attention, and care I give my own.
