“Kayla was absolutely amazing! She took such wonderful care of my two cats, sent me adorable pictures and videos while I was away, and made me feel completely at ease. She’s dependable, kind, and treated my boys like her own. I came home to happy, well-fed cats and everything perfectly in order. I truly appreciate her reliability and the love she shows for animals. I’ll definitely be booking her again — highly recommend Kayla to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter! ❤️🐾”

About: Throughout my life, I have always been drawn to animals. I have grown up interacting with dogs, cats, horses, cows, chickens, and more. In 2016, my family dog, Cayson, entered my life. Through caring for him, my love for animals intensified, as well as my caretaking skills. In my career, I am a caregiver, and that definitely spills over into how I take care of animals: with love, understanding, and care. I am currently working part-time as a CNA, so my weeks are relatively flexible. I have reliable transportation and I’m willing to travel to best accommodate owners. I care for any and all pets through asking the owner very thorough questions, paying attention to detail, and extending the same love and care I have for my own pet onto them.
“Andrew is great! He really cared about our dog and frequently updated us on how the dog was doing. He also left the house spotless. We will definitely hire him again.”

“Elizabeth did a great job taking care of my two boys! She communicated well and sent pictures, which gave me great peace of mind! Will definitely book with her again!”

About: I have been around animals my whole life. I currently own 3 large pit-bulls. I take good care of them which includes giving baths, taking them on walks, playing with them, cuddling, and taking them on adventures🩷 I have a 9-5 job, but will have time both before and after to take care of your dog. My priority is you dog. I am available for doggy daycare over the weekends☺️ I have a 0.3 Acres fenced in backyard and lots of toys and activity. I also have 3 fur babies that are super friendly and love playing with other dogs. Basically making it a "homemade" dog park. But my biggest priority is to make sure your dog is getting the attention it needs and the safety. All the dogs will be introduced to make sure everything is good. In addition, my backyard can be separated into two part for safety.

About: Although my profile is new to Rover, I am well versed in the experience for years. My mother has been a Rover sitter since I was a child and I have much experience with her going to help at clients houses. I have experience with dogs of all ages from birth to end of life, as well as cats. I am an avid animal lover and owner of exotic pets as well. I grew up on a homestead and have experience with many types of pets including livestock! Dogs, cats, fish, reptiles, rodents, birds, insects and invertebrates, I have experience with them all. I grew up with 10 dogs! My schedule is very open. I am currently post bachelors taking a break from school, as well as pursuing my degrees in Art and Anthropology. I have flexibility in my schedule to meet your needs, and I love to have detailed communication to make sure that we are always on the same page. As a sitter I am prepared to follow your pet's schedule and specific needs to keep them as comfortable and happy as possible while you are away. I would want to meet you and your pets beforehand to make sure I have a clear grasp on their schedule and needs and follow them precisely. I am very detailed when it comes to directions for my own pets so I am prepared to give your babies the same care I want for mine. I have so much in depth experience with dogs growing up on a homestead, and many of those experiences involved emergencies. I know what signs to look for to make sure your dog is safe and healthy, and will always err on the side of complete caution. I have a strong respect for safety and health and want your dog to not only be taken care of but observed in depth to make sure they are getting everything they need from me. I hope to leave every client better connected with their dogs.
About: Dogs have always been a big part of my life. I've been dog sitting for over a year and had my own dogs for more than 7 years. Caring for animals genuinely makes me happy, and I treat every dog as if they were my own. I don't see Rover as just a job, it's more like a hobby that I really enjoy. Since I can't have a dog of my own right now, caring for other people's dogs allows me to enjoy their company and give them lots of love and attention I have a very flexible schedule and spend most of my time at home, which allows me to provide plenty of attention and care throughout the day. Dogs are rarely left alone and can enjoy multiple walks, playtime, potty breaks, and lots of companionship. I live in a spacious home with a large backyard where dogs can safely play and enjoy outdoor time. Since I have a flexible schedule and spend most of my time at home, pets receive plenty of attention throughout the day. I always follow each pet's routine and owner's instructions carefully to ensure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved while in my care ❤️🐶
“Louisa did an amazing job! I have a kitty with special care/feeding instructions that require attention to detail that she followed perfectly. She also took great care of my home and provided updates on everything as I away. I could tell she genuinely cares about animals just from our initial meet & greet too. I always get so nervous leaving my cat when I go on trips but Louisa absolutely earned my trust and I will be booking with her again in the future for sure as long as she’s still pet sitting. Thank you so much again :)”

“Mac is amazing! She took wonderful care of our three cats in our home for a week. She sent us photos every day, kept us updated, and was always so positive and communicative. We had complete peace of mind knowing our cats were well cared for. When we returned home, the house was spotless! We couldn't have asked for a better sitter and would absolutely book with Mac again. Highly recommend!”
About: As an aspiring vet, it is my duty to ensure the health and welfare of any animal in my care. I make sure to carefully observe and notate any abnormalities while pet sitting to make sure any issues are caught early on Currently working part-time as a veterinary assistant, on my journey to come a veterinarian, pet care is my everyday life and has been for the past 5 years. I have easy access to a large dog park, and open fields so plenty of outside time is used. My home is also very spacious, plenty of roaming around space with a fenced deck for sunbathing as well
About: I have five cats and a dog of my own. I love exploring new trails and finding new places to walk. I also have experience administering medication to pets. I grew up with a dog that needed lots of medicine. I have plenty of experience with injections, pills, and liquids. I will treat your baby like my own. I truly miss the animals I watch when I inevitably have to leave. I hope you will trust me with your baby soon! I currently work part time and I am in nursing school. I can try to make any booking work with advance notice. Please reach out and we can make it work! I am very careful with making sure harnesses are on and safe. I make sure the water and food bowl are full and nothing is out that is dangerous.
“Griffin was awesome! He is definitely one of the best dog sitters we’ve ever had. He did a great job with the dogs, the house was super clean and he made sure to send us awesome photos of our pups. We will definitely hire him again!”

“Kristina was very good with my two little dogs. Sent pictures daily. She also house set for me. The house was clean and even washed and remade the bed. I was gone 8 days. Kristina was pleasant to talk to and understood all my must haves for my babies. Will definitely use her again.”

About: I have had animals around me my whole life. I had my first puppy when I was a teenager and I trained her myself. Once I moved out on my own my now ex partner and I had three dogs. One of those dogs was pregnant so while he was in training I took care of her and helped her give birth to 10 puppies! Afterwards I took care of her and the 10 puppies until they were ready to go to their furrever homes. Now that my partner and I have split I have a cat (whom I love with all my heart). I don’t have any medication administering or senior care experience but I am good at following instructions! I can do pretty much anything and I can handle any size animal! I can handle aggressive animals as long as I have a heads up so I know what to expect! I do not discriminate when it comes to loving them all❤️ I currently work full time M-F, 8-5, in Nashville but I can check on your animal(s) before and/or after work during the week or anytime during the weekends! I have almost every weekend off (with the exception of military training once a month)! I can clean up after them, take them out on a walk, play with them, bathe them, brush them, give them medicine, or pretty much any kind of pet care.

I have two German shorthaired pointers which I love with my whole heart. I feed them regularly, let them outside in our backyard and take them for walks.

About: I’ve been a dog and cat groomer for 4 years. I grew up on a farm taking care of all the animals from horses, cows, pigs, chickens , dogs , cats , turkeys etc. I’m very patient with animals who take more time to get to know new people who come into their lives and I love my senior animals who take a little longer on our walks :) I just moved to Florida from Arizona. This will be my full time job for now until I am able to save up to start my own mobile dog and cat business and hopefully be able to provide grooming services to all my lovely clients I am very reliable and flexible. I have always been the neighborhood help for pet care when my neighbors went on vacation. I’ve helped with feeding their farm animal and their indoor animals . I always follow the instructions giving to me and I always show up on time !
About: Hi! I work full-time at an Animal Hospital that offers both regular boarding and medical boarding. I’m an animal surgical technician, so I’m very comfortable caring for senior pets, pets with medical needs, and those requiring medications or special attention. I’m able to provide a wide range of care, including emergency or special care if needed (at owner’s expense). Because I work in animal care almost every day of the week, I’m confident handling all types of animals and care situations. I have experience with dogs, cats, and small animals, as well as larger animals such as horses, pigs, cows, and sheep. Cuddling, playtime, and making pets feel safe and loved are my top priorities! I enjoy long walks, quality playtime, and lots of snuggles. I also have experience with bathing, nail trims, and administering medications on schedule. My goal is to make your pet as comfortable as possible while you’re away. To them, I may be a guest—but I want them to feel just as loved and cared for as they do with you. I can’t wait to meet you and your babies! — Jamee 🐾 Pet care fits very naturally into my daily and weekly routine. I work full-time as an animal surgical technician, so caring for animals—feeding, administering medications, monitoring behavior, and providing comfort—is already a regular part of my day. Outside of work, I intentionally structure my time around pet care, making sure each pet receives consistent attention, exercise, playtime, and affection. My schedule allows me to be reliable with routines such as walks, meals, medication times, and check-ins, while still providing flexibility for pets who need extra care or attention. Because animal care is both my profession and my passion, it never feels like an add-on—it’s simply part of my everyday life. Making your pet comfortable is my number one priority! To them i am a guest but i also want them to love me just as much as they love you!
About: I’ve personally kept animals of all sizes and breeds for family members and myself. I currently have a mixed breed dog I rescued and kitten I rescued. I am extremely passionate about animals and I love helping people in any way I can. I am currently working a full time job on weekdays but my weekends are free to walk, stop in, or house sit for your pups or kitties! I am very good at following instructions so I usually take care of pets as closely as the owner would, with specific details on how you take care of them. I am very careful with the animal as well, speaking calmly and interacting sweetly.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Amsterdam on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 318 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Amsterdam. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Amsterdam walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Amsterdam maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Amsterdam choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Amsterdam. On Rover:
- 87% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
