“Gabby is simply the best. She was amazing and flexible with the needs of our senior girl, Jersie. She sent picture updates throughout our trip and kept us in the loop of what was going on. We are so thankful for her compassion and are looking forward to booking with her again ❤️”

“Megan and Lee are phenomenal. They spent time getting to know our two fur babes and we felt so much better knowing our girls were in such good hands. They sent us photos and updates too! We will definitely have Megan and Lee stay at our home and watch our girls again!”

“Imani did a great job house-sitting and watching my cat, Penny! She provided updates everyday and was quick to respond to messages! She left the place spotless and Penny loved her! I would definitely recommend her and will be reaching out to her again in the future!”

“Olivia took excellent care of our 2 girls. She is a strong communicator and provides lots of photos which makes me feel good about leaving them. Our 2 dogs enjoyed getting fed, taking walks and getting cuddles, but mostly our Purdie loves playing ball, which Olivia graciously partook in. We will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Kylie did an awesome job staying with our pups while we were out of town for the weekend. Quick to respond and thorough communication, provided lots of photos and updates. She was fantastic with our almost 16 year old senior dog who wears a diaper and requires more care, and also played fetch in the backyard with our younger dog. She was tidy and left the house spotless. Would book again!”

“Sarah must be my dogs’ next-most-favorite human now! She took such good care of everything so that I could get away for a few days without having to worry about them. They all had a great time hanging out and I loved having the pictures and updates. Sarah was flexible and thorough and pleasure to work with.”

“Anna was great! Will absolutely be booking again. My two dogs were happy to see me when i got home, but not too happy-- that's how i can tell they got lots of attention and play time. Anna was conscientious and responsible, it was clear the dogs were fed, happy, and loved. And i think my house looked better than how i left it. It was obvious from the meet and greet that Anna is smart, mature, and takes dog care seriously. Can 100% recommend!”

“Alex is a fantastic pet sitter. The instructions for my senior cat can be a bit complicated - Alex took care of her and our golden retriever so well. Highly recommend. She left our house the way we left it, was very communicative, and trustworthy person.”

“Elizabeth is such a sweet and caring dog sitter. Our more anxious big dog took to her at the Meet and Greet which made me comfortable about the actual stay. She was very honest and accommodating of all our questions during the M&G too. She was very flexible on our departure day because we were delayed due to weather. The actual stay went well, no issues with the dogs or house. The house was all tidy when we returned so I couldn't tell she stayed for 5 days. Plus she took such cute pictures of our dogs while we were away. Def recommend her!”

“Suzanne was a wonderful sitter! Patches got to play and be exercised while i was at an out of town workshop! He loved his sitter and I know she cared for him while I was away. She sent fun action photos of him playing! Arrives on time always. Will have her again, Jane H.”

“Crystal is amazing! She stayed at my house and watched my labradoodle for three nights while I was out of town. She is very responsible and left my fur baby and my home in perfect condition!”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. From as soon as we met Drew we saw his love for animals and how my dogs immediately took to him. He was extremely responsive and amazing to work with. Would highly recommended him!”

About: I have been a passionate pet owner and caretaker since I was 9 years old. Growing up with dogs and now the owner of two cats, I learned early on how to understand their body language and fun personalities. Whether your pet is an energetic puppy or a calm senior cat, I treat every animal like family. I currently work a full time job, but I only go into the office twice a week. I am available to work from your home if needed to provide company to your pet. I am also available for morning and evening feeding, as well as weekend visits too. When caring for pets in a client's home, my goal is to keep their routine as normal as possible. I strictly follow instructions for feeding, medication, and exercise. I send daily photo updates and messages through Rover to give owners peace of mind. I also respect the home by cleaning up after the pets, keeping the space tidy, and following all household rules.
“Constance was a great sitter! She was thorough in the questions she asked before house sitting our cat. She was communicative and professional. And most importantly, our cat loved her! She sent constant updates while we were out of town.”

“John took care of our babies while we were gone for a trip! This was the longest we’ve been away from them and our nerves were all over. He eased our anxiety by providing pics multiple times a day and giving us updates on them. We can’t recommend him enough!”

“Bethany was wonderful for our first time working with her! She was a great communicator and sent lots of photos and updates while we were away, which we really appreciated. She did everything we asked and we came home to a clean house and happy pets. It gave us a lot of peace of mind knowing everything was in such good hands :)”

“Bruce did a great job watching our two dogs for a week while we were on a cruise in Alaska. He stayed at our house and allowed our dogs to be comforted by their own surroundings. We were excited to see them and glad we had someone we trusted to watch them and take good care of our house as well while we were gone. Thank you!”

“Our dogs had such a good time with Scott that they were actually sad to see him go when we returned from our trip! I am sure they will be elated next time they see him. Scott is easygoing, communicative, and has our full trust. We're so glad to have found Scott and know our pups are in good hands with him!”

Tarani is beyond excellent with our 3 dogs. We feel confident and relaxed when we go out of town knowing she is staying over with them. They have gotten to know her very well, and miss her when she’s gone. Tarani knows how to deal with difficult situations- our one dog forced her way through our fence to escape and join Tarani and our other dog on a walk. Tarani remains calm and gets everyone to safety. Thank you!!! She’s also determined, even though Lucy refuses to go on walks, she still tries daily to see if she has changed her mind; I know one day Lucy will agree to go! 😅 Tarani we are so lucky that you agree to watch our pets. Thank you!

Mia did a great job with our two foxhounds! She followed all our instructions and sent lots of photos. She even walked them several times, which went above and beyond my expectations. The house was in great shape when we returned. I would definitely hire Mia again and recommend her to friends.

Olivia was great! She was reliable and stayed extra time with our dog cause we returned late from our trip. The house looked great and our high energy dog was clearly happy. I would definitely recommend her as a sitter and will likely be using her again in the future.

Olivia was wonderful with our two dogs. One of them unexpectedly needed medication during the time we were going to be on vacation and Olivia had no problem accommodating us at the last minute. Knowing that she was taking great care not only of our dogs, but of our house as well, gave us the peace of mind to be able to actually enjoy our time away. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Adam was fantastic with my pups! Adam was very communicative, he was able to give my big guy his meds, spent plenty of time with them, and took them for walks! He kept me updated through his stay which I appreciated greatly. Highly recommend Adam and I will definitely book him again in the future!

Daniel was great - excellent communication and great with the pups. One of our pups took an instant liking to him and was asking for belly rubs during the meet and greet. We hired him to house sit during our wedding weekend and he even walked the dogs up to our wedding venue so we could take pictures with them on the day.

Sarah was fantastic! She was very communicative while I was away and sent lots of pictures and updates which I appreciated. Both of my fur babies were happy when I got home and I could see they had been extremely well taken care of. I will definitely book with her again.

My wife and I were exceedingly pleased and impressed with how Meagan and Lee took care of everything we asked them to do. That included managing the various tasks for each of our two dogs. Especially an older one with a schedule of multiple times for meds and careful handling with him going into our backyard having a limp from an injured leg. Beside these things, they were so friendly and easy to communicate with and cooperative from the initial contact, the meet and greet, and the in person contact before we left. An extra appreciated feature is how much and well Meagan provided daily updates and photos and responded courteously without delay to my text messages. And above and beyond, they also cleaned up before they left that was a pleasant thing to return to. We absolutely would want to arrange for Meagan and Lee to be home sitters with our dogs again. Mark and Marie Davis

Joseph was superb and stayed in constant communication with me and took wonderful care of my German Shepherd (Zak). Zak has some anxiety issues and was nippy on Joseph's first day but he worked through it and rapidly gained Zaks trust and affection I will be coming back for sure on my next trip

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 1,425 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Amity. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Amity walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Amity maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Amity choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Amity. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
