About: I have handled dogs for the entirety of my life, all sizes from small to large, and with a fenced yard, they will have space!! I will be at home all the time, and will be able to give 100% attention to your animal while they are in my care. I have a fenced yard and two fur babies to keep your dog company. I can crate your animal if needed, but have space for your animal to explore

Our dog Holly just loved seeing Margo … she was reliable and so kind to play with her and make sure she got to go potty mid day while my wife and I worked. We will definitely be calling on Margo again to help us out. You won’t find a nicer person to work with. Thanks Margo you deserve this 5 star review.

About: I am a very passionate, attentive, and empathetic person when it comes to any and all animals! For many years I have taken sole care of both dogs and cats of all different breeds, and am well experienced in all general pet care to include special needs pets. All of the dogs I ever had as a kid were trained as puppies almost solely by myself and my brothers. My mom used to make me read books and do online research about the breed of dog we had, different training techniques, K9 first-aid, and so much more. Being as passionate as I am about animals, those studies were well retained, and while I don't have professional experience, the knowledge gained from doing it on my own with 9 different dogs over my lifetime have graced me with at the very least, an in depth knowledge of all different stages of dog ownership. This knowledge was also accentuated professionally as I worked alongside military police K9 handlers during my time in the Air Force. Not to worry though, I mix structure, routine, and discipline with plenty of tender loving care, and know how to tune my approach to dogs of all temperaments. In regards to puppies: I have experience potty training, leash training, crate training, and what I would call experienced but moderate obedience training skills. I know how to deal with things like food aggression, how to properly establish the "hierarchy" or "pack mentality" and other conditioning behaviors. As well as handling young puppies, I've even assisted a momma in giving birth to a new litter, and taking special care of a brand new litter of 7 pups! So my experience with all dogs truly does begin at birth and goes all the way to end of life care. For the old timers: The couch potatoes in our lives need just as much, and sometimes even more care than their energetic and young counterparts. I have experience with things like giving medication and shots, managing specialty diets, and a number of other age specific needs. I'm very patient and am willing to take the time to get to know your pet and what they need. Every animal has a different personality and needs attention in different ways, and I'm very attentive to that! I will always treat your pet as if they were my own, and will to the best of my ability make sure that your pet is well taken care of at all times. I'm a full-time nomad and side gigs are my primary source of income. Pet care IS my weekly routine. I'm available and more than happy to abide by the normal 9-5 schedule for daytime pet care, but I can also easily adjust to fit any alternate schedule; whether you need overnight pet care, or any other odd schedule constraints met, I am available. I have lived with my own dog in a variety of different conditions. From being on our own in both houses and apartments, to having a full house of dogs and cats. I am well versed in any additional responsibilities and special care based on living situations, and have no trouble go up and down a few flights of stairs for potty breaks/walks, etc.

Kristina watched our cat while we were on vacation and I can’t say enough good things about our experience with her. This was our first time using Rover so we were a little unsure of what to expect but after meeting Kristina and her first visit, any of our worries were gone. She went above and beyond what we expected, not only with our cat but with the house (picked up mail, watered a few plants, etc). She will definitely be our go to going forward and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter!

Jessica was attentive, sincere, and happy to engage our cat above and beyond our expectations. We had just laid out for her to feed and make sure he got his pill, but she also spent time socializing, playing, and even cleaned out the cat box without us asking her to. We thought he loved us, until we saw the photos she sent from her visits. She won him over and surely made our absence more bearable for him. 11/10 will contact again next time we need a cat sitter!

About: I've had household pets my whole life and began to own and care for my own pets when I was around 10. I've loved and cared for fish, hamsters, and frogs over the years. Currently I care for a leopard gecko, a bearded dragon, and several hermit crabs, in addition to helping my family care for our dog and cat! I have experience pet-sitting guinea pigs and walking neighbors' dogs, and have also volunteered in an animal shelter for cats and small mammals where I cleaned cages, groomed, and socialized the animals. I'm a college student (majoring in bio!) who's home over the summer with a part-time job. My availability is variable but flexible, so please reach out with what dates and times you need a service and I'll respond quickly! When it comes taking care of / walking your pet(s), I'll adhere to your directions / all the information I'll receive from you before beginning the job, and remain communicative with you over the course the service.

About: I've always been a dog lover & have had dogs since childhood. My latest baby is a doxie-chi mix (11 lbs) and she is the sweetest girl who brings me much joy! My fiance has a cattle dog mix (30 lbs) who is a big teddy bear too! I walk her everyday, take time to play w/ her & of course snuggle her! I truly believe dogs (& ALL animals) deserve respect & exceptional care, & I will treat your fur baby with the utmost love & care! I enjoy the different personalities of dogs and really get a kick out of watching them; they make my heart smile!! When watching your pet, I will review with you a list of questions in order to make sure I know your fur baby & their schedule, likes & dislikes. Being a dog owner already and having a routine with my little one, taking care of other fur babies just comes naturally to me :-) My husband works from home and I am home weekdays by 2pm, so am available for dog walks as well as boarding. I have a fenced in yard, and my yard is a great size for running & playing. I have a crate for my dog (we call it her night-night bed) but at night she sleeps with me (& thinks she owns the bed! LOL) I have an extra crate in case your furbaby would like to have a little nap there instead of on the couch or the floor. I live in a great neighborhood with new families & older families, and everyone is very friendly. We have many dogs in the neighborhood & my girl loves to go on walks to say hello to everyone.

Corey was great. She kept us informed about our kitten/cat while we were away over Thanksgiving, and everything was in great shape when we got home. We have a Houdini cat who can scoot out of the door quicker than anything, but she outsmarted him, saving him from coyotes who regularly dine on little cats in our neighborhood.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Amelia

Exceptional! David took care of our two dogs & 3 cats during a short vacation for our family. He was available to us relatively last minute, handled our (at times) difficult pup with patience and excellent care (they became fast friends!), and kept us fully updated with check-ins and photos. And on the day of our return when our flight was delayed then cancelled, David accommodated two additional visits very literally at the last minute. We were so grateful for his availability and care! There’s not enough gratitude I could extend here and highly recommend his care. Thank you David, again, for going above and beyond for our crew!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Amelia choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Amelia with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
