“Rachel is not only an extraordinary pet sitter, but she is an extraordinary person. Kind and delightful. She was wonderful with Buddha Bear and sent us lots of "Pupdates" of their walks, feeding, and hanging out in the yard. I know Bear had a great time. It was a bit challenging for us because we moved to the area less than two weeks ago, so we know our dog may be a little anxious at the moment with the move and everything that comes with it. Rachael was so patient with him, and he stayed with her while she was working. I couldn't speak more highly of her. I know Buddha Bear really loved her.”

“We had such a wonderful experience with Julia! From the moment we met her, I could tell that she really understands dogs and knows how to read their behavior. She balances warmth and sensitivity with confident, grounded leadership, so she clearly knows how to set appropriate boundaries and make dogs feel secure without being harsh or overbearing. She was effortlessly attentive and tuned in to my girl Cedar’s needs during our meet & greet, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. Her dog, Daisy, is such a sweet and gentle being as well. I’m so grateful my pup had such a good and safe doggie friend while I was away! Julia communicated through thoughtful little updates, anecdotes, pics, and vids, so I knew how Cedar was doing. She also went above and beyond by taking her on extra-special walks and giving her plenty of fun, enriching time outside. I’m very particular about who I leave my dog with, and I would absolutely trust Julia with her again. I feel really lucky to have found her!”

“She was the best! She sent many pictures and updates while I was away for a little more than a week. He stayed in a spare room and was shy at first but became friendly with her quick. I will definitely rebook with her in the future!”

“This was a great experience. Thank you Emily for being so flexible with a last minute booking! Emily took our high-energy dog on a walk the same night after we dropped her off and the next morning so she would feel more comfortable. Nyla came back seeming like she did well. Thanks a lot!”

“Curtis was great to work with. We had an opportunity to meet prior to booking for an introduction. Our Goldendoodle was well taken care of. He kept us up to date with photos. Looking forward to utilizing his care again.”

“Della is an amazing dog sitter! She sent tons of photos of our dog outside getting exercise, playing with other dogs, and getting lots of love indoors. I would absolutely trust Della with our dog again.”

“Irina was wonderful! Communication was excellent, she was flexible on schedules, and Otto looked so happy in all of the pictures she sent! We will definitely be booking with her again in the future, our little guy was very well taken care of.”

“Karla and her family did a great job taking care of my pup! They sent lots of photos and updates and have a big beautiful yard for your pup to run around in. My dog was so tired from the fun week of playing at their place.”

“Cole and his family were great. They were very communicative and gave our dog a loving place to stay while we visited family out of state. We wouldn’t hesitate to have our dog stay again!”

About: I have worked with old dogs, puppies, trained 2 puppies and some older dogs. I have also worked with a variety of animals like highland cows and reptiles! I have also have had my own dogs and currently have a cat! On weekends I am available pretty much all day! Usually the first Saturday of each month I have my quilt guild and ever other Sunday I nanny for 4 hours. Outside of that I shouldn’t have any other plans with enough advance notice! (I like to plan out my month a month prior) during the week I currently have an am job 3 days/week with some separation to hang out with the dogs in the middle of the day before heading to my pm job. I will watch your animals in your home to make sure that they are as comfortable as possible while you are out of town. I also like to spend the majority of a meet and greet interacting with your animals so that they get as comfortable as possible with me before you head out of town.
“Glee is absolutely fantastic. Extremely attentive & gave my dog, Grace, everything she needed to stay happy & engaged. I will be calling on Glee again when I need boarding for Grace.”

“Amy was great to work with! She gave Dixie a lot of love and attention with lots of updates! You can tell she loves dogs and is attentive to details. Would definitely recommend and would leave my girl with her anytime!”

About: I recently lost my cavalier king charles spaniel and am looking to have some doggies around again. I grew up with many pets in our family! Dogs, bunnies, birds, guinea pigs, and reptiles. I am a dog lover through and through and frequently watch friends and family’s dogs. I do have experience caring for senior dogs! I prefer smaller pups but will accept medium too. I currently work from home so I’m available to take care of your pup around the clock. I do many walks and would love the company of a doggo! I have a completely fenced in yard and a very safe and walkable neighborhood. I have a toddler at home so they must be kid friendly.
“Julia, Sam, and Cashew were great sitters for our two dogs for the 5 days they were with them. Drop off and pick up were easy and they accommodated our schedule. We got daily photos and updates which were very appreciated! We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for dog sitting.”

“Our stay with Sarah was top notch! The dogs played in a large grassy fenced yard at the edge of a quiet lovely neighborhood near open space, and spent time in their own crates when needing privacy. She truly understands dogs needs. I completely trust her level of compassion and competence when caring for my fur babies. I would definitely book again.”

“Great booking with Ryan and his wife. Got great updates and pictures. They have the perfect set up for dog sitting with a great yard, plenty of gates for separation, if needed, and gentle, but playful hosts.”

About: I have had 4 dogs since I was twelve years old, 2 German shepherds and two Yorkie/Pomeranians so familiar with different breeds. I have also lived with cats and love all animals! My partner and I are going to get a dog of our own soon but in the meantime I spend lots of time with our friends doggies! I am a PhD student & work from home so can accommodate flexible schedules, and stay home during the days with your pets. My schedule is very flexible and I can fit any dog into my daily or weekly routine. I work remotely and part-time so looking to hang out with more pet friends! I frequently check to ensure there is enough water and feed dogs according to their schedules. I let them out when they have to use the bathroom and walk them 1-2 times a day. But each pet is different so may need to adjust the schedule accordingly!
“Sophia was a great sitter for my 1-year-old puppy Maple for 10 days! Her dog and cat are friendly and adorable and Maple liked having four-legged friends to play with. Sophia sent pictures of Maple out at parks and playing and relaxing with her furry buddies almost every day. She was flexible and understanding when our return flight was delayed and we had to pick Maple up after 11pm. Maple came home tired and happy and clean and clearly well cared for.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Altona home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Altona.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Altona sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CO ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
