“Zachary was great. I've always uses my best friend to care for my pup, but she moved so I've been on the hunt for a good dog walker/sitter. Before finding Zachary I had a few negative experiences with others on Rover. Not with Zachary!! He was great and my very energetic boy loved him! I would def recommend Zachary to others looking for someone trustworthy, reliable, and great with dogs.”

“Tori was fantastic! Our dog and cat LOVED her! She was reliable and paid attention to our fur babies. We will definitely be booking her in the future. If I could give her more than 5 stars, I would!!”
“Eve was amazing! She asked questions about Mogi and made sure she knew about her preferences and needs. She was great about communicating and checking in with me. And when Mogi wasn’t really in the mood to walk, still spent the full time with her to make sure she had plenty of opportunities to smell around and take a couple potty breaks. Glad to know my girl was well cared for!”

About: For the past 8 years, I have found immense joy in caring for animals and have made it more of a therapeutic passion than a job! As a current college student with a flexible online schedule and a part-time registered behavior technician, it has been fairly easy to seamlessly integrate animal care into my life. While I don't host pets at my home, I prioritize their comfort in their own environment by maintaining a consistent schedule and fostering trust through attentive care and affection.
About: I have had cats ever since I was little and have also worked in a cat rehoming and adoption center! I also love dogs and am comfortable walking them and tending to their needs. I’m a teacher on summer break so I will have plenty of time to play with your pets and give them all the attention and care they need! I am not able to board dogs where I currently live (due to my lease) but I can travel to you and give all the services needed! I am comfortable traveling to homes as well as boarding kitties.

About: I have taken care of neighbors, friends, and family’s pets! I have worked in a boarding facility for 1 year and absolutely love all furry friends! I’m currently working part time, so I have extensive availability to play with your pups! I do have trips but I am generally always in the area! I love to run around and play with any furry friends and am willing to do any tasks you need to make sure they are happy!

“Alexandra is friendly and knowledgeable about dog walking/care and was flexible in taking care of Winston on short notice. Alexandra was timely in her visits, provided full details on her visit including photos. We would recommend Alexandra to others and will use Alexandra in the future. Thanks Alexandra.”

About: We have lived with both dogs and cats, plus fish and hamsters, through our entire lives and we look forward to making new pet friends. Hilary: As a home-school mom of teens and young adults I have a flexible schedule so I can work walks and pet check-ins around our other daytime activities. Scott: Semi retired and home based for business, my schedule is flexible. Having pets ourselves, we understand they do best in familiar environments. By caring for them in their own homes it should ease any stress they may have at an owner’s absence.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs of all sizes; ranging from Chihuahuas to Labradors. Raised my 3 month pup till he was 16 so I can handle a dog at any phase. Currently I have no other job which means my schedule is quite flexible. My availability is Monday-Friday from 10am-10pm. New clients have to request a day before because setting up takes time. Clients already on file get 12hrs or less, depending on how booked I am. I would make sure a dog approaching is friendly and if yours is not I’d go another route to avoid complications. When I walk my dogs I make sure they poop before heading home so the same would go for yours. I would not try cutting the 1hr walk short.

About: I’m a genuine and dependable animal lover trustworthy and responsible. I’m patient, attentive, and committed to making pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their family is away. I’m happy to follow specific feeding, walking, playtime, and care routines, and I’m especially patient with pets who need extra attention, including young, energetic, shy, or senior pets. I treat every pet as if they were my own and make sure their owners can feel confident and at ease while they’re in my care. I am available daily for pet sitting and boarding and dog walking! I love being around animals and will provide a beautiful experience that's safe and trustworthy! I have a fenced yard and live in a pet friendly subdivision with several trails that your pet may enjoy! I love animals and I am taking this as a full time job and following my passion for animal care.
“Kiley was good with communicating with me and was sweet with my dog, however, I booked a 30-minute walk and my dog was only walked for about 20 minutes, with the total visit lasting around 23 minutes. I expected to receive the full time I booked and paid for. She also brought her daughter without discussing it with me beforehand. Thankfully, my dog loves children, so it wasn't an issue for us, but I do think this is something that should be approved by the pet owner in advance.”

“Diane was great with my pup. He's very sweet but can also be a grumpy old man. Diane found the perfect medium to keep him happy so he wasn't pouty at us when we got home. Def recommend and will be using her again..”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
