“We used Suzanna for a last minute six-day house sitting with a dog & cat, and she was outstanding. Very friendly, excellent communication, professional and reliable. We were totally confident our pets were in good hands. Highly recommend her for any pet care needs, and we will definitely be using her again. Thank you, Suzanna!”

“Tori was great, she took very good care of our home and dog over this past weekend. Tori sent daily status emails and texts with several photos included. These helped keep us informed of how Toby was acclimating as this was the 1st time we had left him home with a sitter. Toby seemed to enjoy his time with Tori, and they went outside to play a few times a day.”

“My little dog loves Cami and is always happy and relaxed when I come home. Cami is very reliable and respectful and I can travel with peace of mind that my dog and home are in good hands!”

About: We have lived with both dogs and cats, plus fish and hamsters, through our entire lives and we look forward to making new pet friends. Hilary: As a home-school mom of teens and young adults I have a flexible schedule so I can work walks and pet check-ins around our other daytime activities. Scott: Semi retired and home based for business, my schedule is flexible. Having pets ourselves, we understand they do best in familiar environments. By caring for them in their own homes it should ease any stress they may have at an owner’s absence.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs of all sizes; ranging from Chihuahuas to Labradors. Raised my 3 month pup till he was 16 so I can handle a dog at any phase. Currently I have no other job which means my schedule is quite flexible. My availability is Monday-Friday from 10am-10pm. New clients have to request a day before because setting up takes time. Clients already on file get 12hrs or less, depending on how booked I am. I would make sure a dog approaching is friendly and if yours is not I’d go another route to avoid complications. When I walk my dogs I make sure they poop before heading home so the same would go for yours. I would not try cutting the 1hr walk short.
“Karen provided on-site petsitting approximately 10 days for us. We recently relocated to our new home from out of state and the extended time away from the pets was sure to be a challenge. We are very grateful for the assistance provided by Karen. Upon our return, all was good. The pets appeared clean, happy and healthy.”

However, there’s plenty of sidewalks and easily accessible parks nearby for playtime!
“Karyn was extremely caring of our two dogs Luna & Scout. She and the dogs bonded well while we were away. Her updates and photos were great and made us feel like we were back at home. Great job Karyn!”

“Caitlin took amazing care of our cats and dogs while we were away for the week! She gave extra attention and love to our reactive and anxious dog, and took special care of our senior kitty and helped them both feel comfortable while we were away. She followed the instructions we left for medicine and special care and updated us every day on how everyone was doing. We would definitely recommend Caitlin!”

About: I've loved animals as long as I can remember which is no wonder why my family and friends looked to me for watching their fur babies. It was a natural fit when asked to stay with there pets, an watch there homes with they were vacationing. I have house & pet sit for my sister for all her vacations. I have done drop in visits for working neighbors, or when they were vacationing. I not only make sure the house is okay but take care of there pets as well. I treat their homes and pets as though they were mine. I have experience with dogs, cats, ferel cats, small animals such as guinea pigs, hamsters, some reptiles (no snakes), fish. I also have experience administering medication if needed. I am currently unemployed so that gives me more availability to help care for you and your pets needs. I will update availability as it changes In your home care, less stressful for the pet, cuddles, backyard fun & potty breaks, treats, checking everything is locked up and pet has water/food and crated if necessary
About: I have a lifetime of experience with animals starting from my first day as an infant. I grew up with multiple cats in the home with learned, gentle-respect and patience that cats require. I also grew up with a shetland sheepdog, gerbils, hamsters, guinea pigs, and fish. As an adult I have significant experience with caring for dogs and cats alike both in my home and in other homes. My own animals, two dogs, a cat, and a 70 gallon fish tank, remind me daily of the joys and importance of animals. I have an anxious 74 pound hound and a nervous 30 pound beagle of my own, so I understand the needs of special breeds and animals coming from previously difficult situations. I have the patience needed to address nervous dogs and have experience with clicker training and am educated in techniques for dog training. I do not breed discriminate. I have fostered kittens and adult cats and have experience with syringe feeding and medicine administration. I also have my own rascally kitten, Hazel, who keeps me entertained. In my experience with fish and aquariums I can clean, feed, and help with tank design or water cycling conditions. Note: I am selective about in home care due to a cat being in the home - this is for the safety of my own animals. Thanks. Your pets will be the utmost priority and I can adjust my schedule to meet your needs. I can assure timely feedings, walks, and potty breaks so your pet is comfortable and you are assured! I will treat them as my own. Our daily routine is FULL of pet fun and enjoyment. First thing in the morning is a walk and potty breaks, followed by feeding, the rest of the day would follow similarly with 4/5 mini walks and dinner at ideal time. Potty before bed time and no pet will be left alone for more than 3 hours and if preferred never at all.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Airlie
Lauren was great to work with and made the whole experience really easy. She communicated consistently and sent pictures of Harley, which I genuinely appreciated—it made it easy to relax knowing she was doing well. Everything went smoothly on my end, and I felt comfortable the entire time. I’d definitely book with her again.
Jarett was easy to work with. He was available for a video chat before the sit and made sure he was comfortable with the details of Mogi’s care. Provided check-ins as requested. Mogi was a happy girl when I came home and my house was clean and tidy. A big relief after being away.

Lauren was so wonderful! She is responsible and kind. My dogs are both quirky rescues and Lauren was kind and understanding of their needs (one of which needs medication 3 times a day). She has great communication skills and wouldn’t hesitate to hire her again.

Alan was great! This was our second time using Alan and we will definitely look to use him again in the future. Reliable, good communication, and our dog is happy when we return. He even stayed late on our day of return since we were returning late which was great especially since our flight was delayed. Thank you Alan!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Airlie walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Airlie maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Airlie choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
