“We used Suzanna for a last minute six-day house sitting with a dog & cat, and she was outstanding. Very friendly, excellent communication, professional and reliable. We were totally confident our pets were in good hands. Highly recommend her for any pet care needs, and we will definitely be using her again. Thank you, Suzanna!”

“Elizabeth stayed for two full weeks at our house taking care of all the pets, and even the plants. It was SO nice leaving without needed to do anything or stressing the animals with a different environment or prolonged loneliness while we were gone and returning with everyone and everything still in its place happy and healthy.”

“I’ve had multiple Rover experiences and Madison exceeded expectations the others had set. She was both proactive and responsive in communicating and you couldn’t even tell anyone had stayed at my place. Would definitely book again.”

“Natali was great! She watched our 2 dogs in our home for several nights while we were out of town. She provided daily updates and photos of your fur babies and responds promptly. She is also, do far, the only in-home sitter who respected our home. Highly recommend Natali!”

“Tori took great care of our home and dogs. We were able to go away camping for a weekend while our house and dogs were in her safe hands. They played outside and got a ton of energy out. We will be having her watch them again in the future.”

“It was obvious to both me and my husband, that Laura lives working with animals. Our dog was completely at ease with her and we came home the next day to a very content pup! We received photos and a couple of reassuring text messages that evening, which provided even more peace of mind (banished all mom & dad guilt ;o) If you want a competent, calm, and friendly companion for your fur baby, look no further than Laura.”

About: Hello! My name is Eve, I’m 25 years old and I live in the heart of Warrenton, VA. I genuinely love caring for animals it’s something I’ve wanted to do my whole life and I’m so grateful for any opportunities to work with some furry friends! I grew up around many animals including: Dogs (of all sizes), many cats, mice, hamsters, fish and more. I have a small chihuahua/dachshund mix, her name is Tulip and she lives with me most of the time (sometimes she spends time at my brothers house with his family) so if I’m boarding dogs at my home she would most likely be there so dogs who don’t get along with other dogs so well shouldn’t board with me :) I look forward to working with you! I work M-F from 3pm-8:30pm and Saturdays from 9am-noon. So that leaves plenty of time for your furry friends in the mornings/afternoons and weekends ! I have a small fenced in yard, as I live in a townhouse. However, there’s plenty of sidewalks and easily accessible parks nearby for playtime!

About: I’ve dog sat for one couple, with other little jobs throughout, consistently. I would prefer no senior dogs. My family has a 65lbs Blue Heeler. I’m currently in community college so I am home year round for the most part. I do dog sit for a couple but I just go and let their dog outside for 30 minutes daily. I’m able to crate your dog in your home if needed. I am also able to feed, walk, play, and provide water for your pet.

“We are grateful to find Rebecca to watch Murphy, our English lab. Murph can be a bit of a diva, he demands a lot of attention and can be difficult to walk sometimes. He requires a lot of patience! Rebecca is great, she is very responsible and I trust her with my beloved pup. I appreciate the updates she gave and the level of care she provided. We will definitely be seeking Rebeccas’ services again soon!”

“Ella took wonderful care of our 3 cats, 2 of which require medications twice a day. She communicated regularly which provides us peace of mind and left the house spotless.”

“Karen provided on-site petsitting approximately 10 days for us. We recently relocated to our new home from out of state and the extended time away from the pets was sure to be a challenge. We are very grateful for the assistance provided by Karen. Upon our return, all was good. The pets appeared clean, happy and healthy.”

“Abigail did a fantastic job!! She was on time, reliable, left our home in great condition, exceeded our expectations, and our fur-babies absolutely loved her! I came home briefly to grab an item, and found them all curled up on the sofa together. It was such a relief to know that my home and my animals were in good hands. We will definitely be using her again, and totally recommend her to anyone seeking quality pet care. Thank you, Abigail!”

About: I’ve taken care of all sorts of dogs since I was 8 and I have always had a dog of my own growing up. I’ve dealt with dogs giving birth, dogs on special diets, big dogs, small dogs, dogs needing to be kept separate in the same house, etc. My schedule is pretty flexible, I will just be spending a lot of my time training for my soccer season in the fall. I wanted to a job that would keep me active and be flexible with my schedule! I can easily crate your dogs and make sure they are on a leash at all times. I am very kind and gentle with dogs so they easily trust me.
“Caitlin took amazing care of our cats and dogs while we were away for the week! She gave extra attention and love to our reactive and anxious dog, and took special care of our senior kitty and helped them both feel comfortable while we were away. She followed the instructions we left for medicine and special care and updated us every day on how everyone was doing. We would definitely recommend Caitlin!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Airlie
Lauren was great to work with and made the whole experience really easy. She communicated consistently and sent pictures of Harley, which I genuinely appreciated—it made it easy to relax knowing she was doing well. Everything went smoothly on my end, and I felt comfortable the entire time. I’d definitely book with her again.
Jarett was easy to work with. He was available for a video chat before the sit and made sure he was comfortable with the details of Mogi’s care. Provided check-ins as requested. Mogi was a happy girl when I came home and my house was clean and tidy. A big relief after being away.

Lauren was so wonderful! She is responsible and kind. My dogs are both quirky rescues and Lauren was kind and understanding of their needs (one of which needs medication 3 times a day). She has great communication skills and wouldn’t hesitate to hire her again.

Alan was great! This was our second time using Alan and we will definitely look to use him again in the future. Reliable, good communication, and our dog is happy when we return. He even stayed late on our day of return since we were returning late which was great especially since our flight was delayed. Thank you Alan!

FAQs for House Sitting - Airlie
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Airlie on Rover is $35.31 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 3,161 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Airlie. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Airlie walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Airlie maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Airlie choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Airlie. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
