About: I have been house and pet sitting since I was in high school. Friends, family, and neighbors are always asking if I can care for their animals and homes! I used to shadow a family friend who had a pet sitting business and I loved tagging along! I work full time as a teacher, but I get off at 2:35 so my weekdays have free afternoons and evenings. Weekends are completely free and I’ll be able to care for your pets any time of day. I can easily commute to your home to care for your pet. I don’t mind transporting your pets if needed. About: I have grown up with large dogs my whole life and have experienced caring for high energy and high maintenance pets. Over the past four years, I have also cared for my family members’ pets while they were away, helping with feeding, walking, daily care and playtime. I love all dogs and animals and treat them as if they were my own. I am a college kid who is currently on summer break with very little plans. I have pretty much the whole day to care for your pups! I have a very big fenced in yard for lots of playing and running around. I also have a separate apartment off of my house your pup and I can stay in.

I’m a college student at JMU and have taken care of different animals all my life, and often get asked by family and friends to pet sit-caring from animals as small as hamsters to larger dogs like german shepherds. I am very used to walking large dogs, as I have grown up with german shepherds all my life, and I am very used to taking care of animals with disabilities or special dietary needs. For example, my childhood dog had a pancreatic disorder where I fed her a special diet and am accustomed to carefully following directions and making sure everyone is safe and healthy. About: What sets me apart is my personal experience with dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and life stages. I’ve raised and cared for five dogs throughout my life, including Labs, Golden Retrievers, Chihuahuas, and German Shepherds, so I understand the very different needs of small, medium, and large breeds. I trained my own puppy from 8 weeks old, teaching her a wide range of tricks and good behaviors, which gave me a lot of patience and training skills. I’m also comfortable handling more challenging dogs as one of my Chihuahuas was very aggressive, which taught me how to read body language and safely manage reactive pets, from a young age. In addition, I have extensive experience caring for senior dogs. I’ve helped raise multiple dogs into old age, including a German Shepherd that lived until 15, and a Labrador Retriever that lived until 17! I understand the gentleness, and care older dogs require. Overall, I bring a lot of confidence to this role because of my genuine understanding of dogs at every stage of life. I just finished my undergrad and plan to be home all summer. I begin graduate school in the fall online and will practically have no big everyday commitments. I have a few vacations planned but besides that I am an open book willing to work anytime. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize keeping their routine as consistent as possible. (Dogs know their schedule!) I follow all instructions closely and carefully for any specific care needs. I make sure pets get plenty of attention, exercise so they feel comfortable while their owner is away. I have cared for dogs that experience extreme distress from their owner being gone and I have developed my skills to better care for dogs experiencing this. I’m also very attentive to behavior and health, so I can quickly notice if something seems off. I respect my client’s home by secure and exactly as I found it. My goal is to make both the pet, and the owner feel completely at ease, just as I would want if my dog was being watched.
