About: From puppies to older dogs, I've done it all: taking puppies out every 2 hours at night, specific medications at certain times throughout the day, to planned walks/runs. I have experience with puppy training fostering and now I'm training my own kitten. I'm a senior college student who has a lot of time to spare- especially on weekdays! I'm always available to take dogs on walks, jogs, or just for a quick little stop in. Treating fur-babies like my own has always been an easy feat for me. “Shanisa is super knowledgeable about caring for dogs. She was great with our 3 challenging dogs! Shanisa stayed at our house for 4 days to take care of our dogs while on a camping trip. We have a German Shepherd, Chihawheenie, and a pit boxer mix all with their own personalities and challenges. She gave great updates and had great communication throughout our stay. She played, walked, and cared for them even dealt with medications as much as she could (lol Did I mention our dogs are challenging? :) Shanisa was even able to get our rescued dog on a leash for walks (she is the only other person that can do that other than me. About: I have always felt a special connection with animals and grown up my whole life in a pet household. I have always had cats and small pets but it wasn’t until 5 years ago I finally got my own dog. We rescued him from a traumatic past so he had a lot of anxiety and fear. It taught me so much about caring for a more special needs pet that provided me with more patience, discipline and understanding for animals. I also have an adult cat and these two animals collectively make me so happy. These experiences have led me to want to give back in some way as a pet caregiver! I promise to give your fur babies the best care and love possible and to leave your home as if it were my own! I work shifts as a nurse but have my weekends and nights and a week day free! This schedule while my work days are busy allows me ample time off to care for your pets. Knowing any specifics about your pets such as routine, feeding, potty schedule, medications, personalities, etc is helpful in knowing how to provide the best care possible for them. Paige was timely and efficient, spending much time playing with the dogs and making sure they were comfortable. Paige had come by several days before to meet the dogs, and when she showed up the day of sitting the dogs were thrilled to see her! Handling two dogs at once (especially a Malinois!) can be challenging, but Paige made it look easy, you can tell she loves dogs and all animals! I’ve got experience as a bird owner for over 30 years with multiple types of birds and other animals such as dogs, cats, and handling small critters at Petsmart. I have volunteer experience with rescue dogs at a rescue in Pa in my twenties, volunteered at Tri State Bird Rescue, and Forgotten Cats for many years. I have been a sitter for dogs of all sizes including a coon hound, pit mix, corgi, and a golden doodle. I’ve even made homemade dog food when necessary! I have also been a sitter for cats! I’m willing to get my hands dirty and am used to cleaning up for and bathing dogs in my home as well! I love the outdoors and walking dogs, so your dog will get plenty of outside time. There is a state park close to my home that I frequent. If you have other animals in your home like Guinea pigs, hamsters, birds, lizards, etc I can care for them too with my knowledge from working at Petsmart. I have a safe apartment complex with other leashed dogs that are all friendly surrounding me. My home is smoke free and we don’t use aerosols or candles due to owning birds. Our birds are kept separate from your animals and your pet will be supervised and played with and let out for potty breaks and walks every hour or two.
