“Kelli always does a great job with our babies when we’re away! She scoops their litter boxes, vacuums around the boxes, cleans the water bowls, and plays and pets our two cats. We’ve used her several times thus far as we travel often. She always sends us pictures and updates to let us know how they are when we’re away!”

“Julia is a fantastic sitter! Our girls were well taken care of and she paid attention to the littler things like refilling their bird feeder. She made being away for a week easy seeing our cats were well taken care of.”

About: Most dogs don’t struggle being away from home— they struggle with the environment they’re placed in. That’s why I run a structured, calm setting focused on safety, routine, and proper introductions. Dogs aren’t thrown together or left to figure things out on their own. I’ve worked with a wide range of breeds, temperaments, and energy levels—including dogs that are anxious, high-energy, or need a slower adjustment. I pay close attention to body language, group dynamics, and individual behavior so each dog gets what they actually need—whether that’s structured play, calm supervision, or space to decompress. The goal is simple: your dog leaves balanced, not overwhelmed. Pet care isn’t something I “fit into my day”—it is my day. Dogs here follow a structured routine with: • scheduled potty breaks • supervised play • rest periods • consistent feeding times I’m home frequently throughout the day, actively monitoring behavior and group dynamics—not just “checking in.” This allows me to keep the environment calm, controlled, and safe for every dog in my care. Most issues in pet care don’t come from the dog— they come from the wrong environment. Too much stimulation. Too many dogs. Not enough structure. That’s what I avoid. Dogs in my care are always supervised, introduced carefully, and placed into balanced groups based on temperament—not just size. I maintain a calm, structured routine with: • supervised play (not chaos) • indoor rest periods to prevent overstimulation • clear boundaries so dogs feel secure I also have a fenced yard for safe outdoor time, and I can crate dogs when needed for meals, breaks, or overnight rest. I pay close attention to body language and behavior throughout the day so the environment stays calm, controlled, and safe. This is a great fit if: • Your dog does well in a structured, calm environment • You value safety, supervision, and intentional care • Your dog doesn’t need constant high-energy stimulation • You want clear communication and consistency This may NOT be the best fit if: • Your dog has a history of aggression toward people or dogs • Your dog requires constant, high-intensity activity • Your dog has severe separation anxiety requiring specialized care • You’re looking for a high-volume, kennel-style setup My goal isn’t to take as many dogs as possible— it’s to create the right environment for the dogs I do take. That’s why I’m selective with bookings. When it’s a good fit, it works extremely well.
“Rachel was so great for a super last minute holiday trip out of town. She communicated with me so well before during & after visits with my goldendoodle (and even stood in the pouring rain to take him out). Lots of pictures & updates too which is always nice when you’re away from your pets ? I will definitely be booking with Rachel in the future!!”
“Wow this was my first time using Rover and must say it was great! Whitney, is the best person for a first-timer. It is evident Whitney loves dogs and dogs love her. Whitney kept me updated constantly with photos and daily routine. Whitney treated my Carly as her own which ease any anxiety I had and will be back, no question! Whitney is the BEST and I appreciate her so much for loving my Carly as much as I would. Thank you so very much! Mark M.”

Abbigail did an absolutely amazing job taking care of our kittens, Perry and Poppy! She was attentive, reliable, and clearly has a natural way with animals—the kitties loved her. We felt completely at ease knowing they were in such great hands. As it was holiday season, Abbigail even gave us sweet treats as a gift. Abbigail is the best. I’ll definitely be asking Abbigail to cat-sit again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for exceptional pet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
