“We had no worries with Cheryl, who was staying with our senior dog. It's hard to leave an older dog who requires extra time, care, and attention, including medications and exercise. Cheryl handled everything with love and kept us informed with photos and messages. We were so thankful we found her. Plus we were able to enjoy our vacation. We've already booked her for two more trips. We heartily recommend her!”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ James was absolutely amazing with Meiko! From the beginning, he was incredibly attentive and communicative, which gave me so much peace of mind knowing she was in good hands. He kept me updated, was very responsive, and most importantly, Meiko absolutely loved him! He was also extremely respectful of my home and just genuinely so friendly and easy to work with. I really appreciated the care and attention he gave Meiko while I was away. It’s such a relief finding someone you can trust with both your pet and your home. I will absolutely be booking with James again and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, communicative, and caring sitter. Thank you so much, James! 🐾💕”
“Phoebe is the best sitter I have found on Rover. My dog is not easygoing and yet he took to her almost immediately. Her attention to detail and respect for the routine were terrific. It takes a lot of trust to have a stranger stay in your home and care for your pets. Phoebe has my trust and I will definitely ask for her services again.”

“Max saved us after multiple other sitters ghosted or even stood me up for a meet and greet! He did fantastic with our dog. He was immediate comfortable with him. He left our house spotless and is overall a great communicator. Highly recommend!”

“Absolutely loved Kerri! She did an amazing job with our two pups. Showed so much love. And always made sure she sent pics! She took amazing care of our pups and home. Def consider her part of our family! Thanks again!”

“Alexander took great care of our dog and home while we were away! We got plenty of updates and came home to a clean house which was greatly appreciated. We highly recommend him and will definitely be booking again in the future.”

“Sarah was easy to work with to set up our booking. She communicated clearly and was quick to respond. Our 2 dogs were well taken care of and we came home to a clean house. I would absolutely book with Sarah again.”
“If you’re looking for a great pet/house sitter, Riley is your person. Riley took great care of my pup and fish, checked in daily with me, sent photos and provided daily walks each day. At the end of the stay, Riley summarized Toby’s week, including highlights and household things she did on a sheet of paper. Riley is very reliable and I’ll definitely book her again in the future.”

“Quinn is a sweet person and a loving animal sitter. She seemed very trustworthy too. My poor kitty has PTSD and suffers from nervousness and Quinn had him on his back submissive showing his belly the day after I left.🐈 I wish I could use her again but she will be in college for my next vacation. She also has a professional camera and sent me amazing pics of my little man the 4 days I was gone. 💙”

“Lonnie handled my high energy big dogs wonderfully. He clearly cared about their health and well being, which means a lot to my husband and me when we put our babies in someone else's care. Thanks Lonnie, we'll see you next time!”

About: Animals have been in my environment since childhood and I have a lot of experience with different kinds of dogs, a little bit of training and pet sitting my parents dogs as well as those around my neighborhood. I love both dogs and cats and have previous experience with house sitting and pet sitting for a co-worker a couple of times the past three summers. I know how important, serious, and complicated it can be to find care for an animal because I have been there with my own dogs and two cats. I have a full time internship but am usually done by 2:30 which gives me plenty of time to get your furry family members the potty break/lunch/attention they need. I am available mid-afternoons (2:30-) through nights Tuesday - Friday and free Saturday and Sunday all day. I am not able to accommodate bringing your furry family to my house due to having three dogs. I am comfortable with dropping into your home or picking up your animal for outside time and a change of scenery

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life, so I’ve always been around them and know how to care for them. I’m really good with dogs and genuinely enjoy spending time with them. I’m comfortable with dogs of all different sizes and personalities, and I treat every dog like they’re my own. I’m responsible, caring, and will make sure your dog gets plenty of attention, love, and exercise while they’re with me. I work full time Monday through Friday, but I’m fully available on the weekends. During the week, I’m available for drop-ins and walks in the mornings and later in the day after work. I’ll do my best to work around your schedule and make sure your pets get the care and attention they need. I want every pet in my care to feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I’ll always make sure they are supervised and treated with patience and respect. I understand that every dog and cat is different, so I’ll take the time to learn their routine, personality, and anything they need while they’re with me. I’ll also keep you updated so you can feel comfortable knowing your pet is in good hands. My goal is to provide a calm, safe, and welcoming environment where your pet can feel right at home.
About: Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved animals. Especially dogs. I have owned, trained, and taken care of dogs since I was 9 years old. I have a special connection with dogs and bond with every dog I meet. My calming nature helps keep my furry friends at ease and trust in me. I am responsible, hardworking, empathetic, determined, and reliable. I truly believe that dogs are our best friends. I love taking long walks with dogs and giving them all the love, attention, care, and cuddles they need. My schedule is flexible and I am happy to work with and accommodate your pets needs or any special instructions. Making sure your pets are safe, happy, cared for, and in good hands is my top priority! I will treat your precious pets like they are my own fur children. I am currently on leave from my full time position temporarily, so I have plenty of time to give all my attention and love to your pet/pets. I am flexible and happy to accommodate whether it's a walk, drop in, house sitting, day care, or boarding in my home. My schedule is free and open to help you and your beloved fur family members. I have a 3 level house with lots of grass and space for your fur babies to walk and run and play! I am a softie when it comes to pets, especially dogs, and I will always take the best care of them and spoil them extra for you if you want as if they were my own. I am happy to accommodate any preferences and any comforts or rules you provide your pet regarding furniture, treats, special care, etc. I do not have any children or pets of my own in my home currently.

About: I’ve been taking care of a family friends cats and dog for a few years now! But before that I was either helping out at human society or caring for childhood friends and family pets! Im free most days of the week! I work part time at a florist, usually helping out on Fridays and weekends and also help out a catering business around three times a month. Moved my beloved kitty’s into our new house back in November, ever since we’ve been building cat walk and plan to build a catio for even more stimulation. I love to spoil mine and anyone else’s pets with love and treats, of course not to much so they maintain a healthy weight!

“Tracie was able to help us at the last minute as we had to go out of town for a funeral. She was very pleasant and provided feedback and photos throughout the trip. We returned to two happy dogs and a lovely boiquet of flowers to bright our day after a solemn couple of days away. Very sweet!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Zipprian Estates walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Zipprian Estates maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
<b>Tip:</b> Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Zipprian Estates choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
