“Kerri is the BEST! She stayed at our house for over a week taking care of our dog and cat. Because our dog is large (70lbs) and sometimes anxious/reactive, it can be difficult to find a sitter that is a good fit. Kerri came prepared, asked lots of questions, sent daily updates, and our dog loved her. We will definitely book Kerri again -- highly recommended!”

“Amber is a true miracle worker and our dog sitting unicorn 🦄 She’s patient, kind, and so understanding with our FOUR older, adoptive, stubborn angels and is the sole reason we are able to take much needed weekends away!”

“Alexander took great care of our dog and home while we were away! We got plenty of updates and came home to a clean house which was greatly appreciated. We highly recommend him and will definitely be booking again in the future.”

“Was very pleased with how well she took care of Hershey. He does not like fireworks and she sat with him while the fireworks are going off up the road. She’s already scheduled to come back and watch her again. I would recommend her to watch anybody’s pet.”

About: Hi, I'm Trinity! As a dedicated animal lover, my background comes from years of raising and caring for my own pets. I’ve managed everything from a high-energy, young Rotterman (Rottweiler/Doberman mix) to a gentle senior Cockapoo (Cocker Spaniel/Poodle mix), making me comfortable with active leash walking, high-energy play, and patient senior care. I also have hands-on experience with hamsters, fish, kittens, and adult cats. I understand that no two animals are the same, so I focus on personalized care tailored to your pet's exact personality. Above all, I offer strong attention to detail, strictly follow your care instructions down to the letter, and prioritize open communication by asking questions when needed and sending frequent updates so you always know your littles are safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I work remotely which gives me a structured routine. Because I work from home, I am easily available for check-ins, walks, feeding, and spent time ensuring your pets are comfortable and safe throughout the day. I care for every pet strictly based on the agreed-upon instructions provided by their owner. I follow exact feeding schedules, safety guidelines, and care routines down to the letter, maintaining a clean, low-stress environment while asking questions whenever needed to keep your pet safe and comfortable.
“Delaney watched my dog, Roxie, while we went away for about five days. She did a great job in communicating. Roxie was well taken care of, was happy and had a full bowl of water when we got home. I will definitely ask Delaney to watch my dog again in the future.”

“She is such an amazing caretaker for our many, many animals and is an even more wonderful person! It's obvious she truly cares about animals and is very knowledgeable about and invested in their wellbeing. Plus she does regular check ins throughout the day to make sure we stayed updated on how they were doing compete with pictures!”

About: I've been taking care of my own pets since I was eight years old. Currently I take care of my bichon and bichon poodle in my home. I have pet sat Maine Coon cats, labrador retrievers, golden retrievers, basset hounds, beagles, and german shepherds. Additionally, I have experience that ranges from puppy care to senior care. I am more than happy to do a phone call or meet in person so we can get to know each other, or stop by to meet the pups before I stay with them :) I'm working part-time right now, so I will have plenty of time for your pets! I am super flexible and don't mind getting up early/leaving late. In your home, I am more than happy to accomodate the routines for your dog and the routines of your household. It's important to me to keep the dogs safe, utilizing baby gates, shutting doors/cabinets, and having fences as needed.

About: I’ve been taking care of a family friends cats and dog for a few years now! But before that I was either helping out at human society or caring for childhood friends and family pets! Im free most days of the week! I work part time at a florist, usually helping out on Fridays and weekends and also help out a catering business around three times a month. Moved my beloved kitty’s into our new house back in November, ever since we’ve been building cat walk and plan to build a catio for even more stimulation. I love to spoil mine and anyone else’s pets with love and treats, of course not to much so they maintain a healthy weight!
“Lonnie handled my high energy big dogs wonderfully. He clearly cared about their health and well being, which means a lot to my husband and me when we put our babies in someone else's care. Thanks Lonnie, we'll see you next time!”

About: [Please note: I will be leaving for school on August 22nd and will not be available after that date until I return.] I’ve always had dogs and cats in my life, whether in my own house or my neighbors’. I’ve become used to both the chaos and peacefulness of pet caretaking, and I’m always ready to learn something new. In terms of dogs, most of my experience has been with small to medium or slightly large dogs, but I’ve spent time with all types and am excited about new experiences. I’ve walked dogs and pet-sat for neighbors as the majority of my paid experience, and I’m looking to expand outside of my neighborhood. As someone who goes to college in another state, I am often in Maryland during the summers and winters, where I have extra love to give to pets (there aren’t many on campus)! While back home for summer or winter vacation, I have a very flexible schedule and love to go walking, which is why dog walking and pet sitting suits me perfectly. My other job is during the school year, so it doesn’t interfere with my summer/winter schedules. That means that I am available most days of the week, and I will try to be as accommodating as possible for my clients. As someone who’s grown up with pets, I regularly help with feeding, walking, playing, cleaning up their litter box or taking them to the bathroom, administering medicine when necessary, along with any other additional care that they need. While working with clients, I write down any specific instructions they have for me and build a consistent routine, especially if I am pet sitting. I understand that different animals have different schedules and needs, so flexibility and safety is my priority.
About: We are huge animal lovers in our home! I have been a pet owner myself and taken care of other’s pets for majority of my life. I have also had experience taking care of pets in all stages of life. Whether they’re energetic and need constant play, or they’re older and require more specialized attention. Our pets are part of our family , so I understand the importance of providing them with the attention and care they deserve. During the week I work a second job from home so I do not leave pets unattended for long if at all during weekdays. Time will be made for cuddles, play and walks in our yard or sometimes local trails! Whenever it is nice outside I like to be outside as well so your pup will join me! My schedule is fairly flexible so please reach out and I will do my best to accommodate when I can! I offer personalized care based off the needs of each pet individually. Any pet in my care will be treated with the same care and attention as if they were my own.
“Micah took excellent care of our crew! When a minor health issue with our senior dog came up, his communication was top notch and he handled things beautifully. We came home to well cared for babies and a house cleaner than when we left. Most amazingly, all the animals were calm, happy, and relaxed when we got home! We also received beautiful photos of them every day while we were gone. We will definitely hire him again and would be happy to give him a glowing recommendation to anyone !”
“Elizabeth (Lizzy) was wonderful in every way. She is sweet and mild mannered and Peanut took to her immediately! She keep me posted each day with texts and photos. AND she kept the house clean! I highly recommend Elizabeth!”

About: Simply put, I truly LOVE animals. I have always enjoyed spending time with, and playing with pets of all kinds. I will put your pets' needs above my own. I'm currently working full time, but I am usually home when not at work. I live 5 minutes away from my job, so I will always be available for your fur babies even while working if I need to be. I care for pets the same way I would care for a baby. Their needs are always more important than mine, and I will always make time for them. They also get plenty of attention and play time! Please note: I will have to crate them while at work. This is the ONLY time they will be crated. I will also be home around 1:30 for lunch to take your pet out for a potty break.
About: With over 25 years of experience raising my own dogs and providing trusted house-and-pet sitting for friends and family, I offer a lifetime of dedicated care. I am a passionate advocate for the human-animal bond; my own dog is a certified therapy dog, and together we volunteer at hospitals, nursing homes, hospice facilities, and schools. I treat every dog I watch with the same compassion and attention I give my own. Because I work during the day, I am primarily available for evening and weekend care, making me an ideal fit for owners who need a reliable presence while they are away or working late. Your pets will receive expert care in a loving, safe environment. Because I work during the day, I am primarily available for evening and weekend care, making me an ideal fit for owners who need a reliable presence while they are away or working late. Layna was amazing with our high energy weim & old man golden. She made sure they both had what they needed. She went above and beyond by watering our chickens and was exceptionally respectful of our house, very clean and neat. We will definitely use her again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Mexico on Rover is $27.75 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 3,040 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Mexico. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Mexico walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Mexico maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Mexico choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Mexico. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
