“Rambo did so well with Kelli! She understood that he was shy and took a while to warm up to someone new. She kept me updated with photos and messages. I will definitely ask Kelli to take care of him again.”

“Elizabeth was wonderful! She deserves an award for handling my crazy, high energy Labrador. Somehow she kept up with his endless energy & chaos. I got constant pictures and videos giving me a peace of mind while i was gone. Duck came home happy and tired. Can’t thank her enough for watching him!”

“Deb was great with our dogs, as always. She was available with short notice and took great care of them. Our little Puffy was recovering from a knee surgery, and Debbie was amazing caring for her. Would definitely recommend to anyone.”

“Luke and his family went above and beyond caring for our Yogi. They have a large fenced in backyard and a host of other animal friends that Yogi fell in love with. Our Yogi has a tendency to pee on himself vs the ground and they bathed him before pickup. My toddler wouldn’t stop asking us to smell the dog on the way home. Thank you Luke and family! We will use you every time we need to head West to Wisconsin.”

About: I have 2 dogs and a cat. I have been a multiple pet household for 20 years. I help my friends and neighbors with their pets when they are away. I have fostered dogs before and I have volunteered at the spca. I know how hard it is to find good pet sitters and would love to help others with this. I work from home so am flexible and able to help out during the day. I currently work from home so have the flexibility to care for your pets during the day and evening. I'm also open to boarding at our home so long as they get along with our other pets. I have a fenced in yard, 2 friendly dogs and 1 cat. I can come to your home for walks and/or play time as well.
About: I had dogs growing up and our family had dogs when the kids were living at home. As seniors, we especially appreciated having senior dogs to care for. I will enjoy getting to know and taking care of your furry family member. I get up about 6:30 am and will let your dog out first thing. Since my yard is fenced in, they can run around and explore to find the best place to go. Then breakfast will be next. We can take a walk in the neighborhood and whenever I have errands to run, I'm happy to have the pup ride along in the car. Being retired but still active, I am able to spend lots of time throughout the day with your dog! Dogs are kept safe by being on a leash with me if we're away from home, either taking a walk in the neighborhood or going for a ride in the car.
“There is no one like Anna. She is a blessing from God for our dog. Can't say enough about her as a dog sitter and/or a person. We would never take our dog anywhere else and we have SUCH peace of mind when leaving our dog with Anna.”

“I wanted to express my sincere gratitude for the exceptional care Robert provided to Max during two-week stay. I am a returned customer and know that my furry friend was in good hands. Your professionalism and commitment to providing top-notch care are greatly appreciated. Thank you once again for everything you did to make my dog's time away from home a positive experience”

“Kailee and her family are so caring and compassionate, and I am so glad our pup was with them. Our puppy had a medical issue while we were away, and Kailee immediately jumped into action, took her to the vet, and gave her the prescribed medication and care she needed. We are extremely grateful our doggie was in such caring hands and was so well looked after. Thank you Kailee for making sure she was ok!”

“Danielle was amazing with my senior[16] blind husky. All of her huskies are well trained and played very well with my dog. Danielle is very knowledgeable and I trust her to watch my senior husky with no worry. My dog tends to shut down around other people and completely ignore other dogs. When I picked her up she was very happy and playful with the other huskies after a couple days with them”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Yorkville home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Yorkville.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Yorkville sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
