“Karen is awesome! My dogs are well taken care of by her and have fun and relaxed when I can’t be there. She is very attentive, responsive, keeps me updated, and there when the girls need care and loving. She sends me photos, follows my info on the dogs, and leaves my home spotless. She’s great!!! I trust my two dogs with her unconditionally!”

“We were nervous about hiring a stranger to house sit all of our animals- there are five- plus fish. We had had friends of friends house sit for us until this point, and something usually went wrong. Like they killed off a whole tank of fish or that they ignored our parrot, so she plucked out quite a few feathers, and we had never left our dogs with anyone who wasn't family. We have a rescue whose previous owners severely abused him, and he takes a second to warm up to people- for this reason, we haven't left either of them in four years. They've always come with us on vacation, or one of us stays home. This time we couldn't take them, and it was a tough decision. The highest praise I can give Zachary is that Henry (our rescue) snuggled him. I am so grateful for everything Zachary did for us, from nightly proof of life photos to the meet and greet beforehand to simply asking questions to make sure he cared for everyone the way we do. Since getting home about fifteen hours ago, we've already rebooked him and given his name to one of our friends who doesn't like to leave her dog. If you want a kind, caring and dependable person to care for your animals, Zachary is it.”

About: I have owned dogs my whole life and had all different ages and breeds. I love taking dogs on walk and keeping them occupied and active! I have been walking and caring for other peoples dog for a year now but always had dogs of my own. I am currently a student at FGCU and only have classes twice a week for an hour each. I am currently unemployed as well so I will be home most of the day and have a lot of freedom. I don’t have a fenced in yard but my apartment has grass areas and trails to walk on. I live on the first floor and will take your dog out several times a day. I have no dogs in the apartment but I do have a kitten who doesn’t mind dogs or other cats.
“Ella went above and beyond in caring for our animals. Despite a miscommunication about the duration of pet care needed, she was incredibly accommodating and worked out a schedule that served us perfectly. We really appreciated her flexibility. We also had an issue with our garage door not opening, and Ella graciously went back and forth multiple times to check on the animals. Her commitment and kindness made all the difference. We highly recommend her!”

“Shadae is excellent and is very enthusiastic about caring for pets! She always sends so many updates and pictures, it gives me peace of mind while I am away! I will be booking with her any time she is available and I have plans to be away!”

“Tessa did a great job watching our 2 yr old lab in our home for the week Skye is very scared of new people when she meets them but made a new friend at the meet and greet! Tessa was her new play buddy and seemed at ease and comfortable with her during her stay. I know this because she would give me updates and pictures every day to put my mind at ease while we were so far away. She even helped me feed the neighborhood cats! She left our house just as clean as we left it. I will definitely be contacting her next time we need someone to watch or let Skye out for us!”

“I can’t recommend Kylie enough! We have a new German Shepherd Willow who we adopted a couple months ago from a shelter who is very sweet but can be high energy and a lot to handle for some. We also have an 11 year old cat who was diagnosed with diabetes one month ago who now gets insulin shots twice per day. This was the first weekend we went out of town since adopting Willow and starting Lucy on insulin so we were nervous about leaving them. She put us at ease during the meet and greet. The way she interacted with our pets made it apparent she was experienced and caring. While we were gone her communication was awesome- she gave us plenty of updates including pictures and videos and everything went so smoothly. Thank you!”

About: I enjoyed having cats and dogs growing up. As an adult, I have taken care of both cats and dogs for friends. I also worked/volunteered at a local shelter for years. working with puppies. old, big, little and traumatized dogs. I can run with those that want to. Additionally, I’m good at fetch and tug-of-war. I have commercial auto insurance coverage for your pet in my care. And I have uploaded a copy of my PetCare Insurance in my photos that covers potential incidents in your home, my home and in the park. I’ve given medication’s. I will follow your instructions to the letter and I don’t have an opinion. I have a lot of free time while I’m working on a book and don’t really need the money. I just would love the experience. I think the most important part is safety. PetCare Insurance for the unforeseen, but vigilance eliminates a lot of that. Pets are often curious and you need to make sure they’re not getting into harms way. When I take your dog for a walk, I won’t be on my phone because you need to be on the lookout for potential danger. I can take your dog to the park, around the neighborhood, for a drive or just stand in the yard. It’s all up to you. I will follow your instructions without opinion.
“Jamie helped us out in a pinch due to ,medical procedure, You could tell she loved Dogs and she and Bunker enjoyed their time together, We will definitely use her again if available.”

About: I’ve been caring for pets for over 5 years and have experience with both dogs and cats of all ages and personalities. Along with that experience, I’ve helped neighbors, friends, and family with feeding, walking, playtime, overnight care, and giving pets plenty of attention and affection. I’ve also worked with cats for 2 years, and they’re one of my favorite animals to care for. I’m dependable, patient, and treat every pet like they’re my own. About: I am currently a proud parent to two cat, so I’m very well versed in their play styles and respecting their boundaries. However I spent my childhood with a loving dog who recently passed away. Navigating his senior years taught me that care isn’t just about walks or treats but about patience, sometimes administering medication, and recognizing subtle cues of a senior pet that may need a little extra comfort. Whether your pet is a high energy pet or senior pet who needs a gentle hand, I provide intuitive, dedicated, and delicate care that I’d want for my own. I’m currently a college student, but have lots of time to care for your pets! I’m available on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:30 PM-4:00 PM or 5:30 PM-10:00 PM. Thursday- Sunday I’m available anytime after 7:00 PM. Whatever your pets need, I have it covered and their safety is always my number one priority. From double checking that every gate is latched and every lease is secured/correctly on to closely monitoring your pets for any sign of discomfort, ill treat your home and your pets with the highest level of care. Whether it’s following a strict medication schedule or navigating a high energy walk, I’m prepared for any situation!

FAQs for House Sitting - Wyandot
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 190 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Wyandot. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wyandot walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wyandot maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wyandot choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wyandot. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 91% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
