About: I have taken care of pets since I was 13 and house sat since I was 15!! I was also a kennel tech for a year! This included giving medication, bathing, feeding, and just plain old watching the pets! I know CPR for our fury friends too! I have two dogs of my own as well as four cats so I am completely comfortable with a variety. I am a college student working on my masters online while working another job as well. My schedule is pretty straight forward for me so pet care will fit well as long as I keep my calendar balanced. I am comfortable house sitting for both dogs and cats. I am more than capable of crating or letting pets out to potty. I usually keep treats on me anytime I care for a furry friend. When I walk animals, I usually go for 30 minutes to an hour so that they get the excercise needed. I also have bags for when they do their business on a walk.

“Sarah was great! Easy to communicate with. Was able to book somewhat last minute for our two doggos, which was a wonderful surprise. I'd highly recommend booking with her!”

About: I have extensive experience caring for animals, as I’ve had pets in my home since I was a baby. Growing up around pets taught me responsibility at a young age, including feeding, grooming, cleaning, and making sure animals feel safe and comfortable. Over the years, I’ve cared for a variety of pets and have become very attentive to their needs, behaviors, and routines. I understand how important it is to provide not just basic care, but also companionship, patience, and love. My lifelong experience has made me confident in handling different personalities and ensuring pets are well cared for while their owners are away. I am a full time college student and work a part time job as a server. Most of my availability is in the mornings on weekdays and weekends as needed. I am a reliable and caring pet sitter with extensive experience providing private pet care for families. Over time, I’ve built trust with pet owners by consistently showing up on time, following specific care instructions, and treating every pet as if they were my own. I’ve cared for pets with different routines, temperaments, and needs, which has made me adaptable and attentive in any situation. Whether it’s feeding, walking, administering basic care, or simply spending quality time with pets, I always prioritize their comfort, safety, and happiness while their owners are away.
“Leo took great care of our dog and our house. He sent photos to us everyday, and our dog so looked so happy I thought the pup wouldn't want us to return home. Leo was good with communication. It is obvious Leo loves dogs. I would highly recommend him!”

About: I've been lucky enough to take care of homes and pets in lots of different places, like California, Oregon, and even other countries. All that experience has helped me become really good at providing reliable and loving care for both pets and their people. I’m really good at going with the flow and can easily change my schedule to fit what a pet needs. Whether it’s walking the dog early in the morning, playing with them in the afternoon, or feeding them at night, I’m always flexible and ready to adjust. I always do exactly what my clients ask me to do, whether it’s about feeding their pet on time, giving them medicine, or teaching them good behavior. I know how important it is to keep things consistent for pets, so I try to make their routine as comfortable and familiar as possible.

“Claire did a great job of bonding with our beagle. Bailey can get a bit of separation anxiety when we leave her, but Claire stuck with it and the two ended up getting along well. Also, she left the house probably cleaner than we left it. We would absolutely hire her again.”

About: Since I was a girl, I have been surrounded by animals including chickens, horses, dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rats, turtles, fish etc. I am a student attending the University of Kansas on a pre-veterinary track in hopes of pursuing a career in veterinary science. Currently, I manage the boarding facility at an animal hospital/ hotel. I have a deep passion for animal care that goes beyond basic needs. I am detail-oriented, organized, and take great pride in my work ethic. I love to keep clients in the loop regarding how their fur babies are doing by communicating any updates, answering questions, and of course sending pictures of your pet! I would like to offer my services to pet parents who are looking for an educated individual, ready to provide a comforting, reliable, and relaxing experience for both the client and their pet. I work a full time job, but I am flexible to be open on certain days. I will just need to know well in advance when possible! Message me if you have any questions! I am extremely detail oriented. I will treat your fur baby with the same kindness, respect, and attention as I do my own. I will be passionate and attentive to your animals, while keeping clients informed and updated throughout their time away. My goal is always to provide an enjoyable & stimulating experience for each animal depending on their individualized needs!
“Fantastic as always! Sean does a great job keeping me updated on the pups and makes sure they are having a great time. I always come home to happy dogs and the house put together.”

About: Loving and caring for animals is truly what I enjoy and love. I am very comfortable around all animals considering I grew up around dogs, cats, cows, horses my entire life while currently owning three dogs, three cats, and a horse. I have been pet sitting for people in my home town for many years. *This is my full time job while being here at KSU for college so other than classes here and there I am free during the day and almost always at night so animals will rarely ever be left alone. I am almost always available and am always around Manhattan. Feel free to message me for last minute bookings if during the week days only! My name is Addy and I am from the Lawrence KS area. I am currently attending KSU as a freshman. I have worked at multiple horse boarding facilities and almost on all holidays have taking care of pets for people in my hometown, which I am now wanting to continue doing here during the school year. I am also currently majoring in animal science production management side. Loving and caring for animals is truly my life and I do not take anything about it lightly the trust that somebody puts into me to provide a safe and loving enviorment for there pets is super important to me because I myself have fur babies that I am very particular with and always want to make sure they will be taken care of correctly when I am away. I am a freshman in college this year at ksu and have plenty of free time during the day and night to come over and watch your animals! I have two classes sometimes three during the day but all of my days are pretty flexible except Monday when I have two classes and a lab. While being up here at KSU and not being able to see all of my fur babies I would love to come and see yours and provide all the care they need to them! I have two puppies, one old dog, three cats, and a horse back at home. I am very good with animals. I would love to come hangout with your fur babies while you are gone or busy at work! I have worked at three horse boarding facilities so I know what it is like to make sure the care is perfect for peoples animals. I enjoy taking care of animals and making them feel loved and safe, I would love to provide that for your pet.
“Jessica stayed with our pups over the weekend. She sent updates and reached out if she had any questions. We returned home and I couldn't even tell she had been here because the house was just as we left it. We are already booked for Christmas.”

FAQs for House Sitting - Worden
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 456 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Worden. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Worden walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Worden maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Worden choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Worden. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
