Kathy K.

“My dog Jojo and her cousin Ruby spent 6 nights with Kathy while my family was on vacation with my sister’s family. I was very nervous to leave Jojo, because she had never been left with anyone else before since getting her as a puppy in 2020. Kathy was wonderful! She was so kind and caring towards the dogs. It was so great to get her daily texts and pictures! I could tell both Jojo and Ruby were so well taken care of, and I was able to relax and enjoy my vacation. I would most definitely have Kathy take care of Jojo again. ;)”

Clara K.

“Clara is sooooo nice! I booked last minute and she took great care of my little Bella! I’ll definitely work with her again…hopefully with more notice haha”

Danielle W.

“Danielle and her family were AMAZING! She sent so many photos and updates each day of our pup Arrow and it was clear he was well taken care of. He had the best time and we will definitely be using her in the future for our boarding needs. 10/10 recommend!!”

Susan P.

“Lulu had another great stay with Susan. She is always excited to go there and I think she misses Frank and the other dogs when she comes home. Susan's pictures always show Lulu and friends having a lot of fun. I always feel confident when Lulu is at Susan's that she is in good hands.”

Noah L.

“Noah was easily one of the best dog watchers we have ever had. He communicated with us the whole time and made me feel so comfortable that our dogs were cared for! I loved the pictures he took! Noah was also very considerate that my husband and I had a long drive back and he took the dogs on a super long walk the morning we picked them up and took them to the dog park so they would be tired. Would absolutely use him again.”

About: I grew up with pets: dogs, cats, fish, hermit crabs, hamsters, and a rabbit! Not all at the same time. To say I know how to care for various pets is an understatement. I'm more than willing to learn what I don't know. I had a Boston Terrier named Stella that I rescued. She was between 10-14 at the time she came into the shelter so she was a senior dog. She was a puppy mill momma, which meant she was used for breeding pups and likely kept in a cage and fed bread and water for the majority of her life. When she came to me, she was deaf, nearly blind, skin and bones, her back legs were ataxic from having so many litters, and didn't know what a toy was. She was my shadow and loved food! Two months into having her, she was sadly diagnosed with congestive heart failure. The emergency vet and family vet gave her months to live. We got an additional 2 years before she passed of kidney failure. She made me understand giving meds on a schedule. I understand accidents and forgiveness. I know how to put on a doggy diaper. I also understand that deaf dogs use their eyes to know the world. I understand that they also startle easily. My heart dog was Mickee, a French Bulldog. She was a gift from a coworker and came to me when she was 8. She was the perfect first dog to have as an adult. My constant companion. She loved going bye-bye in the car. She was easy, easier than Stella. I thought we had the perfect life. Then she became distraught one spring day. Would constantly bark at her water bowl. We bought different bowls! We bought every type of water on the market. Was the water too warm? Too cold? And then she started pacing the house, getting stuck in corners and crying at night. She was restless, almost like she couldn't get comfortable. I posted a video to Facebook and a friend suggested sundowners. I looked it up and all signs led to canine cognitive disorder, basically doggy dementia. We visited numerous vets as she progressively got worse before they said it was CCD, something common in pets living longer and also something they can't exactly diagnose! When we would try to put her in her crate or have her lie down she would cry. Her body wanted her to walk, for hours, on the same paths. I tried the Thunder Shirt, the Thunder Spray, and the Thunder plug-in. Didn't work. I tried melatonin and CBD oil when she wouldn't sleep more than 4 hours. She refused to eat any type of medicine without it being in cheese or a meatball. Then she started falling down the stairs and then forgetting to go potty outside. We tried medicine. I was hopeful, her cries became less and she didn't get stuck in corners as often. And then she stopped eating and drinking on her own. So I hand-fed her and gave her syringes full of goat's milk and water. She started to lose weight and her bark got weaker. We did everything we could for 6 months and slept in shifts downstairs as she walked in circles around the couch. She forgot what the doorbell was, her name, and most of all bye-bye. I could go on. This is all to highlight my commitment to my pets and what I bring to the table when it comes to caring for your pets or pets with disabilities or illnesses. I am always willing to learn what I need to do to help an animal. I am a brachycephalic breed lover and educator, a proponent of adoption and fostering, and not afraid to take care of disabled and sick pets. I like smaller dogs. My spirit animal is a cat and I would be a cat if I could choose. I have a very similar personality to cats. My family is allergic as am I but that doesn't stop me from at least taking care of them so I can get my cuddles in! My pet care goal for 2024 is to become better educated in pet CPR/ first aid and deaf dog sign language. I work full time 8:30 am-5:00 am weekdays. I can drop in before or after work. This means during the weekday I can only visit before 8:00 am or after 5:30 pm. I am free most weekends and usually have to work at most 4 weekends a year. I try to keep my schedule updated as soon as I know of any changes. My family is in NE Ohio so we don't usually leave for holidays. I am currently adding more volunteering to my life and have a very needy family. That is to say, I stay busy! I don't take on more than 2 different clients or 4 visits per day. This is a very part-time gig and I don't want to ever be so busy with multiple pets that I cannot give another pet my all! I currently do not do in-home boarding as I am gone during the weekdays and also do not house sit as I have family that expects me home. I also grew up with big dogs just currently not taking on larger dogs as I'm not yet comfortable doing so. I can recommend wonderful ladies who board dogs in their homes! I feed, water, administer meds, give treats, play, clean litter boxes, let dogs relieve themselves outside, and take in mail, packages, and newspapers. Have also watered plants and fed fish! I also clean pet accidents in the house if I see them. I will also accommodate walks if needed if they can be done in the time allotted. I will leave your house the same state I found it when I arrived, minus any pet messes.

Tyra L.

“Khaleesi had a fantastic stay with Tyra! She was very accommodating with my changing work schedule on drop off and pick up times, and sent lots of picture and video updates. Khaleesi had a great time playing with Tyra’s dogs and came back a very happy puppy when I picked her up. Tyra provided everything but her dog food which was so nice not to need to bring her kennel, bowls, etc for Khaleesi’s stay. Would definitely recommend to anyone and will use as my go-to pet sitter while I’m in Ohio!”

“Lori loves animals and made us very comfortable with leaving our beloved dog with her for a couple nights. The perfect dog sitter for us! Couldn't ask for a better experience. I had a chance to let her meet my dog and show me where she would stay ahead of our trip. I met her and her husband and feel like i became their friends before leaving our dog for the weekend. Very professional and thoughtful. Thanks!!”

Shermont'e P.
“Shermont’e is the best pet sitter I’ve had by far! My dog absolutely loves him! I work long shifts, and Shermont’e is a great help. He takes my dog for walks, feeds him, plays with him, the list goes on! Having the help from Shermont’e definitely eases my worry for my dog not getting his needs met. I know my dog is comfortable with Shermont’e and that means a lot to me. I would highly recommend choosing Shermont’e to care for your pet. He’s not hard to get in touch with, and he will meet all of your requests no questions asked!”

“Angel was great with my dog Mocha. This was my first time using Rover and I’d recently gotten Mocha so I was pretty nervous about leaving her with someone. Angel sent photos and updates regularly. She was a great communicator and followed the rules I established for Mocha. It was comforting to know that Mocha was comfortable and happy while I was away.”
