“Jennifer was an excellent cat-sitter! Our cat ended up being a surprisingly grumpy client 😾 but Jennifer was super patient with her which we so appreciated! She sent photos daily and updated notes. We knew our cat was in great hands! We highly recommend Jennifer!!”

“Marissa went above and beyond while taking care of our pets while we were out of town. It snowed A LOT and Marissa took the time to care for our home- she shoveled our front path and put down salt, and she was even so thoughtful that she put up the windshield wipers on our cars. We were dreading the conditions when we came home, but she was like a fairy godmother who made everything better!”

About: While I don’t have much experience in pet care with other people’s animals, I have some experience with taking care of my family’s pets when instructed to (even at times when I almost forget to.) I’m currently doing a art class until the 20th and is volunteering at the cat cafe from time to time so my availability may vary. I’ve done my family’s pets’ cat litters from time to time. Although I am not the only person that does this in my family, I do have experience with cleaning litters and giving food to them. I have been a volunteer at a cat cafe that a friend of mine was a part of for a while now. We would clean the cats’ litter boxes, food bowls, make sure that they are clean and the cats are fed, and clean the cafe along with organizing the cats’ toys so it’s easy for the cats to navigate.

About: I have several years of experience working in an animal hospital as a veterinary technician, where I cared for pets with a variety of needs and learned how to recognize changes in behavior, health, and comfort levels. My veterinary background has given me the skills and confidence to provide safe, attentive care, including administering medications and noticing when a pet may not be feeling their best. Outside of work, I’m a proud pet parent to two doggies and two wonderful cats, so I understand how much trust it takes to leave your pets in someone else’s care. I treat every animal like they are my own—with patience, compassion, and plenty of love. Whether your pet needs a walk, a drop-in visit, playtime, medication support, or simply a caring companion while you’re away, I’m committed to providing dependable and personalized care.🐾 Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I work remotely full-time from 1:30 PM–10:00 PM, which gives me plenty of availability in the mornings and early afternoons to dedicate time to animals. I would love to use that time for walks, drop-ins, playtime, feeding, and giving pets the attention and care they deserve. I’m a responsible and caring pet owner myself, and I understand how important it is to have someone trustworthy looking after your pets. I enjoy creating a calm, comfortable environment and making sure every pet feels safe, loved, and cared for while their owners are away. When caring for pets, my top priorities are safety, trust, and creating a comfortable environment where they feel secure. In a client’s home, I follow their instructions closely to maintain their pet’s normal routine, including feeding schedules, medications (if needed), walks, playtime, and any special preferences they have. I treat every home and pet with respect, taking the time to build trust and make sure each animal feels comfortable in my care. I pay close attention to their behavior, surroundings, and needs to help prevent any safety concerns.
About: I’ve taken care of small, medium, and large breed dogs during my time working for a private dog boarding company. At this job I was expected to feed, walk, kennel, medicate, bathe, and clean up after dogs. I work from home so my schedule is very flexible. This allows me to provide constant attention and easily accommodate mid day walks or potty breaks. Safety is always my number one priority. I always double check that gates are locked, keep close supervision, follow specific instructions, and stick strictly to established routines to keep them comfortable.
About: From puppies to older dogs, I've done it all: taking puppies out every 2 hours at night, specific medications at certain times throughout the day, to planned walks/runs. I have experience with puppy training fostering and now I'm training my own kitten. I'm a senior college student who has a lot of time to spare- especially on weekdays! I'm always available to take dogs on walks, jogs, or just for a quick little stop in. Treating fur-babies like my own has always been an easy feat for me. When it comes to home saftey, whether it be my own or a clients, simple communication goes a long way. House rules, schedules and specifications are always a big thumbs up from me!
“Alyssa did a great job caring for our cats while we were away. They are both very shy and usually keep their distance from new people, so it meant a lot that she was able to make them comfortable enough to come out during her visits. She also did an excellent job communicating, sending thoughtful updates and photos that helped us relax and enjoy our trip. We would happily book Alyssa again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter!”

“Madison took great care of our pup. We needed someone to take Hallie for a walk and spend some time with her at the house during the day. She was careful with our directions and meeting Hallie's specific dietary needs and provided regular updates with photos. We highly recommend Madison!”

“Autumn was very responsive and reliable. She took care of our cat while we were away for the holidays. We were sent pictures after every visit and our cat seemed to really warm up to her. She responded to requests promptly and helped us check our faucet to make sure the pipes hadn't burst. Overall she was great to work with!”

“Olivia is absolutely the best. She is professional, friendly, and great with our cats! We have had her stay at our house to sit our 4 furballs. She sends plenty of pictures, gives us updates and leaves our house so neat and clean! Don’t know what we would do without her.”
About: I'm Emma or Em (she/her) and I have been caring for animals my entire life. I have 3 cats (Reuben, Prince Salami, and Yzma) and I grew up with lots of cats and dogs in the house. I cannot have a dog now because one of my cats is very scared of them, but I still love them and have lots of experience taking care of them. I consider animals a foundational part of who I am and will always provide quality care for your fur baby. As a child I took care of neighborhood pets and volunteered with shelter cats through a rescue operating out of a Petco in Georgia (The Good Shepherd Humane Society). In high school I volunteered at a PetSmart in New Jersey (The Cat's Meow), taking care of cats and helping with adoptions. I also visited the National Greyhound Adoption Program in Philadelphia and walked rescued, former-racing greyhounds on Sundays. In college I fostered several cats and kittens through Dakin Humane Society (I just couldn't stay away!). I also walked a local woman's dog throughout my four years on campus and boarded emotional support dogs in training for their student raisers. The Summer after graduating with my bachelor's degree I fostered for a smaller rescue (Furever Homes for Felines), after which I began working at Newbury Animal hospital and fostering for an affiliated rescue, Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society (MRFRS). Since the first animal hospital, I spent a couple years working as a Science Writer and Legal Assistant/Paralegal in Business and Family immigration, then went back to veterinary care at Red Lion Veterinary Hospital in Delaware for half a year. I have been strictly petsitting since Spring 2025 - I take my responsibility to care for your fur babies seriously, and I value and uphold all instructions and concerns :) I am available for a variety of arrangements - I provide pet care regularly and every day is different depending on my client's locations and reservation specifications. My three cats live in my townhouse with a small, fenced-in front and back yard. I am able to provide boarding to cats that are able to stay in a separate room. I am home throughout the day unless attending drop-in visits. Every visit includes any necessary medications, food, water refresh, necessary tidying, litter scooping, and play time.
About: I grew up in a household with many animals and have always loved walking our dogs and taking care of the cats and other animal friends. I would love to care for your pets and give them a special moment in their day and help you remove one thing off the to-do list. Our lives get very busy and for pet-owners, having an extra hand here and there can be very beneficial. As a college student, I am using Rover to help with finances during the semesters. Mixing physical exercise with hanging out with your pet for some time sounds like the perfect activity for me! I hope to be able to assist you with your pet needs. Best, Sieira I am currently a college student at West Chester University and a part-time employee at Wawa, so my availability depends on the day. Tuesdays and Thursdays I am able to be booked for walks or drop ins from 11:30am until 5pm. Saturdays I am only available in the afternoon, from 4pm to 8pm. Sundays I am available anytime requested in the morning until 5pm! I always ensure the pet is comfortable on walks, offering plenty of sniff breaks and giving them lots of water afterwards. For drop ins, I would love to hang out with your pet and allow for some fun socialization when they need it! I always do a temperature check on what the pet is feeling before taking action, as every animal is different and has various needs.

About: I’ve been taking care of pets for 40+ years. Specializing in cats, bunnies, guinea pigs! I am also open to small and medium size dogs. 💕 I work full time out side of pet sitting. German shepherd, cats, bunnies, and guinea pig! Whether I stay the night or drop in for a visit I plan to care for your pet the same I would mine! “Tamika is a fantastic cat sitter! She does a great job with our cat and I always feel comfortable when I know Tamika is watching her. She also helped us out this time by doing extra things such as picking up packages that were delivered. She’s always communicative and we appreciate all she does to respect our home and take great care of our cat.”

About: Hi! I’m Maya, a lifelong animal lover with a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and two cats of my own. I understand that every pet has unique needs, and I’ll treat yours with the same love and care I give my own. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or cuddles, you can count on your pet being in great hands! I work remotely Monday through Friday, which gives me a flexible schedule for pet care. I can stop by throughout the day for visits, walks, and check-ins, or, if preferred, I’m happy to work from your home so your pets have extra company and care while you’re away. I care for every pet as if they were my own. I stick closely to their normal routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications if needed, and plenty of attention. Cassandra has watched our kitty on several occasions at this point and is my most trusted sitter! She's very communicative, sends pictures every day, and seems to love what she does. She's flexible, dependable, and follows instructions very well! Would recommend her to anyone for pet care. Our fur baby is in great hands with her.

Alana was such a delight. My cat immediately came up to her on the day we met and allowed Alana to pet her. Alana did a wonderful job with my cat. She was on schedule every day. She took lots of pics each visit. If you’re looking for a wonderful, sweet caring person, Alana is the one. Pic her 1st and you won’t be disappointed.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
