“We have left Cooper with Andres several times now, and he has been very pleasant and accommodating from the first interaction. He sends picture updates throughout the stay, and is always sure to provide a "debrief" of the stay when we pick him up. Its very comforting knowing that if there is even the smallest thing, slightly out of the ordinary, Andres will pick up on it, and keep us informed. Cooper always seems to have a great time; whether it be running around with Lumpkin or any other dogs being boarded at the same time. We have been nothing short of pleased, and will continue taking Cooper to Andres. If you're looking for peace-of-mind boarding, look no further. Andres is top notch.”

“I had such a great experience with Juliana and couldn’t recommend her more highly. Leaving my dog while traveling is never easy, but she made the entire process feel smooth and stress-free from the start. She was incredibly attentive, communicative, and clearly cared deeply about my dog’s well-being. I received regular updates, photos, and little notes that made me feel connected even while I was away.”

“Emily and Christine were fantastic. Our dog had a great time and was very well taken care of. Birdie seemed to really like them and their dog, Lilo. We will definitely book them again in the future.”

“George has helped us out twice with our dog when we were out of town and we’ve been very appreciative of his flexibility, friendliness, and most of all taking good care of our furbaby. So thankful for reliable sitters like George in the neighborhood that we can”

“Griffin had a blast at Bronwen’s house. We got a ton of pictures and he loved running around her massive backyard. He gets so excited when we even say her name so we know he just loves staying at her house. Bronwen is definitely our go to dog sitter. Thanks!!!”

“It was my first time having to leave my dog, Max, with someone he did not know, and meeting Laura before going on my trip was very helpful. I felt very comfortable leaving him with her. She keeps you updated and answers questions promptly. Laura sent pictures and videos to show how Max was doing, which I really appreciated. If I need a sitter again I will definitely bring Max back to Laura, and I know he'll feel comfortable, and I will feel better about leaving him.”

“Alexandra and family are always wonderful to my baby boy! But this time they go above and beyond! We left for a week. And unfortunately, he ran out of food. Alexandra and family cooked him homemade food, like I did with him! Just exceptional!!!”

About: I have owned dogs for the past 20 years, including a mastiff and pit/Shepard mix. I also grew up with cats. I have also helped out a rescue I am home at lunch during the week to let your pet out and home by 5:15 pm . Weekends I do not work and can be home all day I have a separate gated off part of the house the animal can be housed in instead of sitting in a crate if I am not home
About: I’ve been a pet owner for more than 45 years and I love my animals like they are my kids. That’s what you can expect from me while caring for your pets. I’ve had little dogs and big dogs, cats, fish, even horses. I especially love Great Danes and for some reason they love me. I have no fear of them and appreciate their lap dog in a big dog body personalities. My favorite thing is when I’ve just met a new Dane, within a few minutes of meeting them they are comfortable enough to start “herding” me. This is when I know I’ve gained their confidence and trust. Most of them try to sit on my lap, I always let them. ❤️? I’m currently working remotely and have flexibility with my work and schedule. I can be available on a short or advanced notice for visits in my home or yours. I have a semi fenced yard and 2 dog parks nearby. I have 2 cats. One is social and inquisitive while the other is a princess and lounges in her royalty most of the day. Your pet and I would be besties and get as much or little attention as they desire for the duration of their stay with me.
“I had a wonderful experience with Michelle F. as Sasha’s sitter. She was extremely communicative, sending regular updates and photos that really put my mind at ease. She kept her home clean and tidy, respected my schedule, and was very flexible and accommodating. Most importantly, she took great care of Sasha and made sure she was comfortable and well cared for throughout her two-day stay. I would absolutely trust Michelle again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, responsible, and caring pet sitter!”

“Daisy had a blast staying with Jordan and Chloe. Jordan was very attentive and reassuring and sent us lots of photos of Daisy and updates throughout the week. We felt that Daisy was very much at home and even came home with a new toy she acquired from Chloe. We totally recommend Jordan!”

About: I am a lifetime lover and owner of dogs. While other kids watched Saturday morning cartoons, I watched shows about dog training and dog breeds. I grew up around dogs of all types and have always loved having one by my side. Our family recently lost our dog, and while I’m not ready to commit to dog ownership full time, I miss having one around and want to help other families. I have experience walking different types of dogs that have varying levels of leash skills, managing special dietary and medication needs and can adapt to their activity requirements. If you have a dog that’s used to being part of an active family, or at least around one, I could be a great fit for you. I shared availability that accommodates long weekend boarding needs. This is when I consistently work from home or am off so that I can be around and give your dog the best care. You can expect regular breaks and walks for your dog on my work from home days. On the weekends, I will include your dog in my family activities. While busy, I am at our home base a lot, and much of the activity involves walking the borough, going on mini adventures in nearby parks, or hanging at our house with friends. Including a furry guest into my family-centered lifestyle is easy (and fun!) for me to do. I have a fenced in yard, live in an extremely walkable neighborhood, and have a gated off mudroom when your dog needs a little more space or down time. My kids understand animal boundaries well for their age and are used to respecting their space. While they will not be responsible for your dog’s care, they will be around. My cat is suspicious, but typically tolerant of dogs once he gets used to them.
“This was Rico’s first time staying away and he warmed up and adjusted quickly. I appreciate feeling included with all picture and video updates on how his days were during his stay. Rico made friends and burned so much energy and immediately took a nap on our way back. Glad I found a trusted local dog sitter to take care of Rico. He’ll be back! 😁”

“Richard made us feel so comfortable leaving Roxy with him and his family. We received pictures during the day of our Roxy feeling very relaxed and at home!! We are so glad to have found Richard!!”

“Jessica took great care of my girl Cora. She is super sweet and I could tell Cora made herself right at home. Her kitty was also part of the welcoming committee 😂. She was flexible on drop off/pick up times. I would definitely use Jessica’s services again!”

“Beth was incredible! She kept us updated with videos of both of our dogs and we felt very at ease leaving our dogs - especially since one of them has special needs. Beth has a great set up for hosting animals and we will definitely be bringing our dogs back!”

“Same day Boarding request for 2 puppies under 1 year old. Corey has a fenced yard, he provides photos and videos each day and keeps the puppies and their bedding very clean. My puppies came home with freshly washed bedding and their own baths! What a Treat!”

“Aubrey was awesome with my puppy he is about 4 months old with a ton of energy and still learning but she agreed to watch him with no problem. She sent me reports and pictures every day, answered all my questions, and made sure my pup was doing great. He even had movie night watching 101 Dalmatians!! Would def recommend”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Woodacres
Our second time using Jordyn. She helped us in a pinch the first time and this time we went with her because she is just the best. My dog was so excited to see her again as well. She did a great job and photos on a regular basis which made us smile. Lots of photos of walks, he seemed to be getting some good exercise and stimulation - he looked like a happy boy!
I cannot say enough good things about Steffani and Josh. This was the 3rd time they watched my Cora girl. When I was dropping her off, she was so excited to see Steffani, she hopped like a bunny to the door! They treat her like she’s one of their own. Thanks so much guys!

Marissa was so sweet and helpful with my pups while I was away for business. I am always nervous when traveling and leaving my girls with anyone, but Marissa put my mind at ease. She sent photos to check in and let me know how they were doing, and my one one more nervous dog, Penelope, did NOT go on a hunger strike while I was away as she sometimes does--which speaks volumes about how comfortable she was while staying with her! I look forward to using her again when I travel. Thank you, Marissa!!

As an owner who truly treats my “baby” like a real baby, I was incredibly impressed with the care and attention Sherry gave my precious one. The daily pictures and videos she sent gave me tremendous peace of mind and reassurance that my baby was happy, safe, and well cared for. If you’re looking for someone who is genuinely caring, attentive, and will treat your precious baby as if they were her own, look no further. Sherry is the one!

Ariana was an absolutely wonderful sitter for my mini dachshund, Dino! It was Dino’s first time staying with Ariana, and she did a great job making me feel reassured that Dino was happy and comfortable during his stay. Dino is already looking forward to his next stay with Ariana!

We have been bringing our dog to Bronwen for a number of years. When we pull into Bronwen's driveway, Trixie jumps right out and runs to get into Bronwen's backyard without a backward glance. She loves going to Bronwen, and we get lots of updates. Trixie can be a picky eater, but Bronwen always gets her to eat. Trixie comes home tired and happy. Highly recommend Bronwen!

Beth was great with Maddy as always! So happy we have found someone we trust to watch our sweet girl, we know she is in good hands when she’s with Beth. This last visit was almost 2 weeks and Maddy needed daily medications for her arthritis and a UTI - Beth religiously made sure Maddy took all her meds every day.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Woodacres home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Woodacres.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Woodacres sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in DE ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
