“Elizabeth watched our two pups from Thurs - Sun. She handled all aspects of in-home pet care and even administered daily meds for our older dog. The house was neat upon our arrival which is appreciated. She did a great job with them and communicated regularly via Rover text. We hope to use her services again in the future.”

About: I have grown up with dogs and cats in my house and now have my own kitty Arnold 🐈 I’ve been pet sitting for my family for years and hope I can pet sit for you too! I just moved to the area as I am studying for my Masters Degree! I am currently working part time and attending a Masters Program online so my schedule is very flexible! I am in the lakes region most weekends as well. In my free time I do a lot of walking so taking dogs for long walks is not a problem! I have a car that can fit atleast two XL dogs in the back. My cat has had health issues so I can administer medication for both cats and dogs

About: I have cared for all types of dogs big and small, and have lived, trained, and babysat dogs since i was little! I love animals, and currently have a flexible schedule to be able to care for yours. I treat them as if they are my own, and will love them with every ounce i have! I will show up in any weather, and have no problems giving medication. I have no fears of any size dog, and am usually the one found with the dog rather than people at any gathering ha! I am super careful, super thorough, and very reliable. I currently do work, but with my schedule I have a lot of time available during the day and afternoons, some nights. I am lucky in that my schedule is flexible, and can do daily visits, walks, short/long term, and potentially overnights. I am able to do overnights with your dog at my house, or happy to come to you as well. I have a big fenced in yard, and live across the street from a giant beautiful park with trails and fields to play in. I have friends who live on my street who, if ever needed, are beyond trust worthy if your pup ever needs anything. My boss also lives next door! I also live right near two other parks, and beaches. I am in a quiet neighborhood that is perfect for walks as well. I grew up with dogs my whole life, so my parents are also near by. Im also close to two animal hospitals

About: I am a small business owner with previous experience working as a veterinary technician in emergency veterinary medicine. I have owned animals my entire life and have two cats of my own (both of which were rescues). I am compassionate, patient, and friendly. I adore meeting and taking care of your babies! I own a small craft business on the side so I may be unavailable some weekends but am flexible with availability! Pet care is passion of mine! I will take the time to introduce myself to your fur baby and make sure they are comfortable with me! We will make sure we go on walks or have plenty of time to play! I will love your babies like they are my own! They aren’t just pets, they are family.

“Charles was a Godsend!!! His communication was thorough and as frequent as I needed (along with pictures). He won over my cat (not always an easy task!) and was awesome with my dog. My dog showed his first sign of being ill just as I was leaving. As the symptoms grew worse, Charles took him to urgent care, waiting 2 hours to be seen, then followed all of the vet's instructions, including going out and buying the food items recommended, cooking those items, and administering 4 different medications daily. All while keeping his calm, accepting demeanor. He also left my house clean and well cared for. I don't know when my next trip will be, but I'll definitely request Charles again!!!”

About: I am a responsible, reliable, and intuitive dog enthusiast, who will care for your dog as if they were my own. I understand the importance of showing up when scheduled and tailoring the service to your dog's individual needs. I grew up with family dogs since birth, and have cared for my own dogs over the past 20 years. I started a professional dog walking and sitting business in 2018. I have experience with many different breeds, ages, and abilities. Through my dog walking business, I also have extensive experience walking small groups of dogs off-leash in nature. If you are interested in this service, I have 2 female golden retrievers who would be happy to join your dog on a group nature walk, providing maximum socialization, fun, and exercise! I've recently relocated to Strafford, NH so I'm looking forward to building my clientele in a new area! Please note: -Boarding and Sitting Nightly Rates include potty breaks in the morning and evening. Walks may be added on at a discounted rate. Dog care is my full-time job and life, so I'm available Monday through Friday, 8am-4pm, for walks and drop-in visits, with some after-hours availability on an as-needed basis (please note, after hours requests will incur an additional fee). Overnight care is available 7 days/week. Since I care for many dogs during the week, your dog may be hanging out at home for a period of time while I walk other dogs. I can board your dog in my home or overnight sit in your home any day of the week. My dogs are allowed on our couches, so yours would be too. They sleep in my husband's and my bedroom, so your dog would also be welcome to sleep in our bedroom, or downstairs in the living room/kitchen if they prefer. Free-range dogs are welcome and crate training is not required unless your dog is destructive or unsafe when left unattended. We have a fenced in yard to let them out for potty-breaks and to play. If you would prefer me to stay in your home overnight, I have a lot of experience staying in clients' homes with their dogs, and often bring my dogs with me to provide socialization (if you want).

He was very commutative with me and kept me informed of anything that he believed I should know. He sent pictures and videos. I highly recommend Peter. House was also clean upon my return. (Sarah was out of town so wasn’t able to come but I met her at a meet and greet with my dog and she was very friendly. )”

“It's such a relief to find quality, reliable pet care for my sweet, aging golden-doodle. Ashley spent 5 days taking care of my dog and my home. She sent photos & videos, communicated with daily updates and was attuned to his physical limitations. It's clear that Ashley loves animals and she bonds easily with them. The added bonus was how well she took care of my home! It was spotless when I returned, sheets, neatly folded, and everything in its place. Highly recommend!”

About: I have lived and grown up with dogs my whole life!! From when I can remember to now, I have cared for dogs personally and love doing it!! I currently work a fully remote job, so I am available to care for your dog all day during the week and weekend if needed! I've helped care for 4 dogs personally in my like (in addition to helping friends and family dogs) by taking them on walks, feeding them when needed, and giving them all the cuddles. I am strong at following instructions and will care of your pet as if they were my own! As long as we have open and honest communication about your pet's needs it will be perfect! I also love sending updates and photos to owners I have worked with before.

About: I love dogs! I get so excited each time I see a dog ... the same way a teenager does to their first love, or a man to a new grill/smoker, or a woman to a Christmas craft fair. I'd love to make your pet feel loved and cared for when their favorite person (you!) is away from home. I lost my sweet, sweet girl to a brain tumor November 2025. While I'm not ready to take on a new dog of my own, I'd be so pleased to care for yours while you're away. You can be sure I will treat them with care and affection, same as I did for my own. Each dog is different and I will do my best to cater my care to their needs, safety, comfort, and (healthy) stimulation. My home is small but the love inside it is not. I can provide walks of whatever duration/frequency your dog needs, car rides to new sites/sounds/smells (if you approve), and 'bonus bites' of foodlove (again at your approval). Pets are allowed on furniture and beds. Above all I will respect what you tell me the boundaries are for your pet. I know what it's like to be away from your 4-legged best friend and will provide daily updates with pictures but if you want more often than that, you need only ask. About me: I've helped train 6 puppies and helped with dedicated senior care on two of my own dogs (including soft tissue injuries and a brain tumor diagnosis with resultant seizures). I grew up in a house with a dog from birth to college and actively helped take care of them. Since 2006 when I graduated college I have had two dogs and each have solely relied on me for their care including health problems, surgery healing, etc. Smoke free, child free, cat free home. I am comfortable with all sizes, ages, breeds, and attitudes of dogs. I am comfortable administering oral and rectal meds but would not be a good fit for someone who had a dog needing an injection (sorry!). I am comfortable with dogs who are very 'high maintenance' on their med and feeding schedule as my own brain tumor experience can attest to how exacting, detailed, and difficult that can be. My calendar should always reflect when I'm available to help. I typically work M-F 6am to 5pm and am flexible to accommodate you outside of those times. I'm able to provide house sitting services at your home OR weekend boarding in my home. First - what you want for your dog matters most. Please communicate training, behavioral, food, outing, and other expectations and I will do my very best to check every box! After that - I care for pets by putting the pet first and giving them as much love as they'd like! I live alone in an apartment up a flight of stairs. While I can provide some help up the stairs, it would be ideal if larger dogs can do a flight of stairs multiple times a day. In my home I do not leave anything dangerous down. Specifically, I'm in the habit of not leaving food down due to my own food-hound. Trash is covered and frequently dumped to avoid trash calamity. A bench at the bottom of my bed with a rug under it ensures safe jumps from floor to bed. Rugs make the living room more comfortable for pups. I can lift dogs in and out of cars when required (as I did for my own sweet girl). Walks employ harnesses to safeguard the throat and trachea. I have pet gates to isolate pets if owners request (healing/safety). I'd speak to owners about acceptable treats, food schedule, medication schedule, and any furniture rules. Please note I have uploaded pics of my new home onto the app and put them near the top ... but many of the existing pics you see with other pets are inside of my past home.

FAQs for House Sitting - Wolfeboro

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wolfeboro walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wolfeboro maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

<b>Tip:</b> Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wolfeboro choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
