“Matthew showed up on time and followed instructions for our dog. He updated me throughout the day and night. He did great watching her and we will definitely be rebooking in the future!”

“Excellent expirience all around. This was our first time using Rover after our original sitter fell through. Chris was fantastic at communicating and sent so many updates and photos we felt like our dogs were with us on our trip. Chris not only let our dogs out and fed them but really cared for them and made sure they were happy and comfortable while we were gone. We will absolutely use Chris again!”

“Cara was so lovely to work with and took amazing care of our two pups! She was easy to communicate with and the dogs were clearly comfortable being with her! We will definitely use Cara again!”

“Paz looked after our senior dog through a tornado warning and heat wave while we were traveling internationally. Paz went way, way above the call of duty by taking our girl to the vet when she started a hunger strike mid-way through the visit. The vet remarked that Paz was very knowledgable, attentive, and great with our girl. Paz has some sort of gift for getting animals to take medications - hopefully she'll offer a "how to" class at some point! And Paz stays in very frequent contact, sending updates and lots of photos. We are so very grateful for Paz!! She is caring, responsible, and very attentive. We cannot recommend her enough.”

“Joining in on all the great reviews for Heather. She stayed with our two pups for two weeks while we were on vacation. Her care for our dogs allowed us to relax and not worry about home. It's a bonus to have someone who will do overnights and be a house sitter as well. Thank you Heather, so much!”

About: I have 10 years of professional experience working with shelter animals and have cared for hundreds of dogs and cats of all ages, personalities, and needs. From shy and fearful pets who need extra time to warm up, to high-energy dogs still learning their manners, seniors who prefer a slower pace, and animals with ongoing medical needs, I’m comfortable meeting each pet where they are. I know firsthand that introducing an unfamiliar person can be challenging for dogs who are nervous, selective, or protective of their space. I’m happy to meet your pup as many times as needed to help them feel safe and comfortable with me before being left in my care. I’m experienced in reading canine body language, respecting boundaries, building trust, redirecting overstimulation, and working with dogs who may need a little more patience than others! Over the past five years, I’ve also fostered dozens of dogs and cats, often specifically taking in animals who need additional training, socialization, confidence-building, or time to decompress outside of a shelter environment. This has given me plenty of hands-on experience with everything from house and crate training to leash manners, enrichment, separation concerns, dog-to-dog interactions, and helping nervous animals settle into a routine. I also have two years of veterinary technician experience and am comfortable administering medications and caring for pets with medical needs. Most importantly, I understand that every pet is an individual. Whether yours is a social butterfly who wants to be my best friend immediately, a senior who just wants a leisurely walk and couch time, or a nervous pup who needs me to earn their trust first, I’m happy to care for them at their pace! I understand the stigma around certain breeds, and can assure you that I have a clear understanding of what to expect with each. My current client list includes breeds such as Cane Corso, Belgian Malinois, Husky, Newfoundland, German Shorthair Pointer, Labrador, Poodle, and, of course, many mixed breed cuties rescued from the shelter! I am currently employed full-time, though I have a flexible schedule that allows hybrid/remote work. This has allowed me flexibility with owners, as I can freely adjust my schedule to meet your pets needs! I prefer to stick to what your pet is most comfortable with. I’ve stayed with some animals that prefer their space, and others that prefer more attention. Each dog is different, so I am here to accommodate their own needs and wants!
“Catherine took care of our two dogs for the weekend and she did an amazing job! She arranged a meet and greet to get to know the dogs which was a great idea. She is a great communicator and kept me updated while we were away. Our dogs were very well-cared for while we were gone😊 I hope to have Catherine again in the future!”

“Leigh was great! She stayed in our house with our two dogs and was punctual, communicative, and left the house nice and tidy! She sent us photos of the dogs throughout the day and we felt they were in good hands while we were gone! We would definitely use her services again!”
“Leslie was so wonderful- I haven’t left my 3 little guys without family in over 10 years. They are very nervous little guys and have some quirks - she made it all work and made them feel safe. Sent me pictures and updates 2-3 times a day. I could not be more grateful!”

“Sarah was wonderful! My dogs clearly loved her and they got lots of snuggles and walks while we were gone. She was also really good about communicating her schedule and sent me daily updates and pictures of the pups. We are looking forward to having her back.”

“Olivia is FANTASTIC! She watched our pup Beau for a long weekend and she was incredibly understanding to my nervousness at leaving him for the first time since the pandemic began. She took the time to get to know him and sent me lots of updates and photos so we could see how happy he was. She spoiled him with extra long walks and time outside, and I am certain she is now one of Beau's favorite people! I could not more highly recommend her!”
“Jordyn is awesome! We met her once prior to having a long extended house sitting and she was very communicative. Our dog loved her and she sent us daily pics to update us. Definitely would recommend her!”

“Kai and Devon were awesome! They were so kind and friendly and our dogs took to them immediately. We knew the dogs were well cared for because of constant communication and pictures. When we came home the house was way tidier than ever before and my husband was so shocked. It was a great surprise to come home to - a sparkling clean house after vacation. Highly recommend and will definitely be booking again for our next vacation.”

“Nina did an excellent job taking care of our puppy. We got him last week and were so nervous to leave him alone. She gave us updates, sent us pics, got back to us within minutes, followed all instructions we asked of her, and ensured his safety. My puppy is sooo shy with other people, and he went right to her. 10/10, will book for the future!!!:)”

“Terry was amazing! She house sat and cared for our 2 Boston Terriers and our Maine Coon cat. I highly recommend her and have full confidence in her. Our pets immediately trusted her and she built a connection with them. Terry sent us videos and texts of our pets and goes the extra mile by washing the bed linens and maintaining cleanliness. everything clean. Thank you Terry from our hearts and will definitely request your services again in the future.”

“Marcelle was wonderful! She took great care of our dog and had great communication during visits. We will definitely use her again and are so glad to have found her! Don't hesitate to book her!”

“Bobbie is a consummate professional. She takes her job seriously and is a lovely person. She took amazing care of our dogs during an overnight stay. We will be using her whenever we can! I can’t recommend her enough.”

“Lesley was wonderful! Very communicative and detail oriented, making sure she kept a good routine for our dog Lucy. She also did so many helpful household tasks like bringing in our mail and packages (some large) and refilling our dog food container for us before we got home. Would absolutely book again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Windy Bush
Chris was excellent! She took great care of Lance and kept us informed. Chris had to deal with him wearing a cone and needing daily medication. She did both of those things with no fuss and allowed Lance to stay in his home while we were away. The daily photos were very reassuring. We wouldn't hesitate to use Chris again whenever the need should arise.
Justice was excellent with our dog Phoebe! We could tell when we first met her that she was kind and responsible. She sent us updates with pictures of our pup while we were away. She took care of our home and our fur baby just as we would have and we plan to use her again for our future trips. We appreciate her so much and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and attentive dog sitter!! 💛

We had a wonderful experience with Leslie. She watched both our dog and cat, sent us frequent updates and photos, implemented each pets feeding and care schedule and still found time to pet and play with them! She provided us with peace of mind while we were on vacation and we look forward to using her again in the future.
I and my dog Mosquito couldn't have been happier with Nina. I was traveling for two weeks and this was the first time Mosquito and I would be separated. He is a rescue and has separation anxiety but not with Nina's company and dog/house sitting services. The transition for him was seamless. Highly recommended!

Oh my gosh!! Sharielle is absolutely amazing!!! She went above and beyond with communication (I mean she’s the best at everything). My pup stresses so much when I’m away and he was so happy and comfortable! If she’ll have us I’d absolutely reach out to her again! No brainer five stars, I’d give more if I could!

Nick was extremely patient with our very recent rescue who was experiencing quite a bit of anxiety when we had to leave her for an out-of-town obligation. She gave him a pretty hard time for the first 24 hrs but he persevered and surely won her over! Thank you! We are very grateful for his great service!

As of September 2026, there are 4,976 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Windy Bush. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Windy Bush walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Windy Bush maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Windy Bush choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Windy Bush. On Rover:

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
