“Gabriela was responsive immediately, set up a meet & greet, and took care of our pup the next day. We got great photos reassuring us she had paid careful attention and our high energy Cocoa was in good hands. Most importantly we came home to a calm happy pup. I’d definitely use Gabriela again.”

About: I’ve been caring for pets for as long as I can remember, growing up in a home that always had animals. Since I was 18, I’ve fostered both puppies and senior pets, so I’m very comfortable with a wide range of needs—from high-energy animals who need structure and engagement, to older pets who require a gentler, more patient approach. In college, I became known as the go-to pet sitter in my apartment community, regularly helping neighbors with walking, drop-ins, and overnight care. Now, I continue to stay involved by assisting with a local pet sitting company here on the island. What sets me apart is my experience, reliability, and genuine love for animals. I understand that every pet is different, and I take the time to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for like they’re my own. I work full-time as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) and Orientation & Mobility Specialist (O&M), which means I’m dependable, attentive, and used to caring for others. I’m available before and after work, as well as weekends, and I’m committed to providing consistent, high-quality care. I work full-time Monday through Friday, leaving by 6:00 a.m. and returning around 4:00 p.m and sometimes earlier. I am available before and after work for drop-ins, walks, or check-ins. I’m home all day on weekends, which allows me to provide full-day care, overnight stays, or extended visits. I provide pet care exclusively in your home, so your pets stay safe and comfortable in their familiar environment. I do not accept pets in my home, as I have two dogs who aren’t comfortable with other animals. I follow your instructions carefully for feeding, medications, exercise, and routines, and I make sure pets are safe and well cared for while enjoying attention, play, and a calm environment. My goal is to create a stress-free experience so your pets feel loved and secure while you’re away.
“Candice did a great job against some odds getting to my house initially and taking care of Carlos. I felt comfort knowing she was spending time with him and coming as planned.”

I have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to give your dogs the attention they deserve — that means active walks, play, feed or simply cozy cuddle time at home. Your pet’s well-being I carefully follow all instructions and pay close attention to each dog’s needs. I have experience with all sizes, breeds and temperaments I’m confident in calmly handling unexpected situations if they arise. I also send frequent photo, video, and text updates as often as you’d like to help you feel connected while you're away. Trust and safety matter, both for your pets and your home. I’m happy to schedule a meet-and-greet so you can feel fully comfortable before committing. I primarily serve areas of Hilton Head Island, Bluffton and nearby neighborhoods. I am readily available at all times throughout the week making pet care fit perfectly into my schedule, allowing me to have full attention for your pet. My primary services are housesitting, drop in visits, dog walking. I live in a quiet neighborhood allowing me to go on long walks with minimal distractions.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
