About: hiii! I was an animal shelter volunteer for a little over 7 years! I am very comfortable around all types of animals, poop etc. doesn’t bother me either! I think a person watching your animals shouldn’t just “watch” them but spend quality time with them! It can be scary for animals being left with an unfamiliar face so making the experience as enjoyable as possible ensures that they will be more comfortable next time! i also already go to the dog park every other day and sometimes every day! we absolutely love going (me and my dog sookie)!! I am a college student but thankfully all my classes are online! I don’t typically prefer weekends but if needed then I will be there! I am free 90% of the time! For the cats I have plenty of scratch posts and things they can play with. I also have cats of my own they love making friends! For dogs, I have a crate and large backyard with a lead post! they are allowed on couches and the bed if they want to go that route! Animals will show clear signs of discomfort and my responsibility is to listen and adhere to that

About: Hi! My name is Julia Crowe, and I’m a huge animal lover! 🐾❤️ I have five dogs of my own: two Shih-Poos, one Havanese, and two Great Pyrenees, so I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes, personalities, and energy levels! I’ve been dog-sitting since I was 15 years old, and caring for animals has always been something I truly enjoy. Being around dogs brings me so much happiness, and I love getting to know each dog’s unique personality and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. As a pet owner myself, I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for your furry family members. I will treat your pets like my own, giving them plenty of love, attention, playtime, and care while you’re away. Whether your dog loves going on walks, playing outside, cuddling on the couch, or simply relaxing, I’m happy to accommodate their individual needs and routines. I’m patient, responsible, and attentive to each pet’s needs, and I want both you and your pets to feel comfortable and confident while they’re in my care. I know how much our pets mean to us, and I will always do my best to make sure they feel happy, safe, and loved. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry best friends! Thank you for considering me to be a part of your pet’s life! I do work a full time job in Hoover, but will always manage to drop by and tend to your little ones as often as you prefer. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities! As a dog mom to five dogs of my own, I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your fur babies. I have been pet-sitting since I was 15 and will treat every pet as if they were my own. I always follow each pet’s routine, feeding schedule, and care instructions while providing plenty of love, attention, and playtime. I will make sure your pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved, and I’ll keep you updated so you can have peace of mind while you’re away!

About: Hi! My name is Adrian, and I've been around dogs and cats for most of my life. I grew up helping care for large dogs and have always been the person my family relies on to feed, play with, and look after our pets. I especially love large breeds and enjoy spending time outdoors, playing, and making sure dogs get the attention and exercise they need. Every pet has their own personality, and I take the time to earn their trust so they feel comfortable and safe while you're away. I'll treat your pets with the same care and respect I'd want someone to show mine. I'm currently very flexible and have plenty of availability throughout the week for house sitting, drop-in visits, and walks. Because my schedule is open, I can dedicate plenty of attention to your pets instead of rushing between commitments. I communicate regularly, send photo updates, and always make sure owners know their pets are happy and well cared for. For everyone's safety and comfort, I currently only offer care in my client's home. My family dog is not comfortable around unfamiliar animals, so I don't provide boarding in my own home. When caring for pets in your home, I carefully follow your routines, make sure fresh water is always available, maintain feeding and bathroom schedules, provide plenty of attention and exercise, and send regular photo updates so you can relax while you're away. I also treat every home with the same respect and care that I would expect for my own. My goal is for you to come home to a happy pet and a clean home

About: I’ve been a lifelong dog lover and have lovingly cared for my own pets for many years. I understand how much our pets mean to us—they’re family. I’m dependable, attentive, and enjoy giving dogs the love, attention, exercise, and companionship they need. I’ll treat your pets with the same care and respect I would want for my own. I work a full-time job during the week, but I’m available most weekends and have some weekday afternoons available as well. I’m happy to work with your schedule whenever possible and will always communicate clearly about my availability. I’m dependable and committed to making sure your pup gets the attention and care they deserve. I understand that welcoming someone into your home to care for your pet requires a lot of trust. I’ll treat your home with the same respect and care I would want for my own. I’ll always follow your instructions, keep doors and gates secure, and make sure your pet is safe and comfortable throughout every visit. About: I have been dogsitting & catsitting for several years now. I am looking to for more opportunities to do so. I am excited to take care of your pet while you are away! I work full time but I have a flexible schedule. I am able to sit for your pet any day of the week and able to check on them throughout the day. I will primarily be dogsitting or cat sitting at my client’s home rather than bringing a pet back to my home. I think it would be best for the pet to be in their home environment.

FAQs for Pet Sitting - Wilton

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
