“Jennifer was wonderful! She took great care of Murry, my senior cat. She provided updates and pictures daily, which always eases my anxiety when I'm away. She stayed the full half hour for the drop-in visits, which I really appreciated. I wouldn't hesitate to use her again to care for Murry when I'm away.”
“Laura is wonderful! She was punctual and attentive. Laura made sure to send daily updates with pictures. She even brought some of her own treats for my kitty. I liked that she asked me if that was ok. I would highly recommend her to anyone.”
“Louis was friendly, reliable a great communicator. We felt that our cat was being well cared for the ten days we were away. After returning home everything was exactly the way I left it and our cat was happy. Thank you Louis!”
“Alexis went above and beyond taking care of our kitties!!! She was amazing with having one of my cats needing medication daily. She cared for them like they were her own pets. Exactly what you want when you’re away and not having to worry about your pets! She was also willing to help out with some house things also!! I would Highly recommend her to care for your pets!! She was very caring and loving! My one cat is very skittish & hardly comes out for me, and she was out everyday waiting to visit with Alexis!! Would have her back anytime to care for my pets!!!”
“Caleb and Julianna took great care of our cat Dunkin while we were on vacation. He warmed up to them pretty quickly, which is sometimes hard to do. They sent cute pictures and videos every day and did everything I asked of them. They were very kind, attentive, and trustworthy. I will be booking with them again!”
“Colleen is an exceptional sitter. Her expertise and trustworthiness make her the perfect choice. Knowing our pet and house are well cared for allows us to enjoy our time away knowing everything is in good hands. I will always book Colleen for future trips.”

I am a person who is big on personal space and would never want someone to feel uncomfortable in their own home. So, I would make sure that your home is the same way that you left it.
“Madison was wonderful! I had a last minute trip and struggled to find anyone but she came through. My one cat requires medication twice a day and that wasn't an issue for her. She provided photo updates and was super flexible when we were arriving back late. She also responded very timely to messages. You can tell she cares for animals. Definitely recommend!”
“I have three elderly dogs, two of which did not have not had a good past. They are fearful of people for good reason. They instantly trusted Mary. I have never before been able to go away without worrying the entire trip. She has truly enhanced our lives, already booked her a second time.”

I do not do care in my home due to my own dogs. I do everything I can to make your pets as comfortable as possible while in my care.
“Alyssa took great care of our cats, Misty & Fae over the Labor Day weekend. Misty requires prescription wet food and 2 medications (opened capsule & measured liquid) added to her food. Alyssa came for a meet & greet visit during the week before the weekend so she could meet the girls, see their environment & understand their food schedule & medication dosing schedule for Misty. She came for morning & evening feedings & sent us pictures from each visit. We knew they were in good hands while we were away. We will definitely call on her again! We highly recommend Alyssa!! Misty ? & Fae ? do too!”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
