About: While your pets are in my care, they will be treated as if they were my own. I will assist you in training your puppy to master the basic commands: sit, stay, and come. I am retired so your pet care is my first responsibility. During the summer, I will walk in the morning with potty breaks in the afternoon if it's too hot. During winter, if the weather doesn't permit driving, I will contact you and ensure that as soon as I can drive, I will be there to give your pet much-needed potty breaks and playtime. For more detailed availability, please see my public calendar https://calendar.app.google/1EpS26QNofEFAmsH7 Your pet's safety is my #1 concern. With that in mind, I will only walk when the weather permits. I will give them time to take care of their business and plenty of play time when the weather does not permit a walk.

About: Hi My name is Maryssa and I’ve taken care of dogs since I was about 10 or 11 years old . I really wish I could adopt every dog I see haha , but I do have Three dogs of my own two chihuahuas, and one Maltese. Neighbors , family , and friends all come to me when they need a reliable and dependable person to watch their pets . My schedule is pretty much open availability at the moment , but I do ask when booking that you are on time and if you are running behind there needs to be communication . If you are more than 45 minutes late Dropping your pet off we will need to reschedule for another time . I don’t have a fence at my home but I personally walk my dogs on a leash, or harness . My animals are pet friendly so your fur babies will be kept company .
“Olivia was very prompt in her response and acceptance of this walk in my time of need. She really helped us out when we needed her most and we got constant pictures and updates. Would definitely recommend her to anyone in need of pet care!”

About: I have cared for my own personal pets as well as friend’s and family’s pets. I have enjoyed every minute of it. I walk, groom, feed, and bathe when needed. I am a graduate student at NCCU in Durham so I don’t have time for a full time position but Rover allows me to have the flexibility to do pet sitting when possible. Weekends are my most available time and I will also have time in between my clinicals and my classes that I can do walks or drop in visits! I have always been an animal lover, I have grown up in a household that has always had multiple pets at a time. My pets get my full attention and affection at al times when I am home! They bring me so much joy and I would love some more fur babies to love on with all of the responsibility of caring for the 24/7!

I currently care for five dogs and have extensive hands-on experience managing multiple dogs at once, including the care of three litters and several additional dogs in the past. I am available seven days a week with flexible hours. At this time, I am seeking a position that offers flexibility rather than a full-time commitment, and I am eager to pursue work that aligns with my experience and interests. I am experienced in handling dogs that are uncomfortable walking on a leash and can manage them calmly and confidently. You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
