“Ellen took great care of my dog on Thanksgiving! She was super communicative and friendly, and sent lots of pics throughout the day. I would definitely recommend her and wouldn’t hesitate to have her care for my dog in the future!”

“Kimberly was super flexible and great with our 7 month old pup, Maggie! She communicated well with us ahead of time and made the whole process smooth as we were navigating Rover for the first time. Her dog Sparky got along great with our dog and Maggie was nice and tired out in the evening. Thanks again!”

“Alice is the absolute best! She does a meet and greet with every dog before caring for them for the first time which made me feel so much comfortable! She has the best yard and is so friendly. I will definitely be using her again! ?”

“Victoria and Rishi took incredible care of my Mimosa, I would recommend them to anyone looking for sitters who will go above and beyond for their clients, Mimosa was so calm and rested when I picked her up and she seemed relaxed and comfortable in their care. Absolutely best sitters in the Spokane area!!! Thanks Guys!!!”
“We are the first timer as we are new to this place with no reference. We took a decision to go with Dustin and Sarah with our gut feeling and it turned out to be such an amazing experience. They are extremely welcoming and treated my pet like their own family member. I will be definitely recommending them as a great people to take care of your pet.”

“Emily took my puppy on short notice for daycare. My puppy stepped right into Emily's house, found toys and felt right at home. I was worried about her because it was her first time without me but she had a blast with Emily and her dog Mac. Best of all, she was tired after all of their adventures when I picked her up from Emily's house!”

“Deborah was amazing with our 1 year old Labrador! Perfect home with fenced in yard for lots of playtime with her own pup. The two dogs were perfect playmates and even took a neighborhood walk! Highly recommended for a caring, loving home for your pet's care.”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and cats since I was 5 years old. Family and friends have never hesitated to trust me as their dog sitter! I’m able to work with any dog or cat, whether that be puppies and kittens or your senior animal! I’m currently earning my master’s degree in Athletic Training, so I pet sit while I complete my program. My schedule is pretty open and flexible, which allows me to give your pet plenty of attention and care. I keep my Rover calendar updated and communicate clearly about my availability so you always know when I’m available to help. I live in a clean, pet-friendly two-bedroom apartment with my fiancé, our dog, and two cats. Safety is always my top priority, so introductions to our pets are done slowly and only if everyone is comfortable. I carefully follow your pet’s routine, feeding schedule, medications, and any special instructions. Dogs are always leashed outside, and I provide a calm, supervised environment where they can feel safe and at home.
“Duke seemed to enjoy hanging out with Mackenzie and her fiance. Mackenzie was quick to respond to my messages, and was very pleasant to interact with. I'd have her watch Duke again! Thanks.”

“Jason and Kristen have taken such great care of our dog Eddie. He usually has separation anxiety, but always RUNS to their door to be played with and cared for by this family. My requests and quirks are respected, photos are sent and communication response is as close to immediate as one can be. I rest easily knowing my dog is in responsible, caring hands!!”

About: Beyond living with pets every day of my life and my family owns a boarding kennel, I've cared for others' pets in many capacities as an adult. I've boarded dogs in my home, and I've looked after many cats, dogs and birds in their own homes: on both a long-term basis and single drop-in visits as needed. I've also cared for snakes, guinea pigs, fish, rats, chickens, horses, cows, and many exotic animals! I can nearly always accommodate drop-in visits, even around the holidays! My days are flexible, and 'last minute' bookings are more than welcome. I take a lot of care to ensure the health and safety of your animals and your home. I pay attention to signs that might indicate a pet may be in distress or feeling ill, such as changes in their fur, appetite, or digestion. I wash my hands after handling kitty litter and doggy waste bags, especially before handling other items in the home. I'm vaccinated against COVID-19, and I wear a mask in public spaces. I am also Cat and Dog First Aid Certified and taken several veterinary classes. When walking dogs I take all steps to ensure safety, I make sure all collar and leash clips are secure, as well as any harness you may use. I currently work from home so I have lots of time to spend with your pet and give them the attention they need. I am available on weekdays and weekends. We live on 10 acres and the property is all fenced with additional large play ares. I also have 2 standard poodles. I am a certified groomer. I train service dogs in my spare time and have a lot of experience training dogs over the years. If your fur baby requires training I offer that as well.
“My 110 pound Bernese Mountain Dog enjoyed his day with Makayla. We were from out of town travelling in an RV which needed unexpected maintenance. She accepted the booking on short notice and was comfortable with a large dog. She was responsive to our texts and kept us updated on our dog's stay over the 5 hours of day care. We would definitely use her again.”

“Melissa went above and beyond while taking care of my dog Amaya. She is an excellent caring person. I was nervous about the process because it is my first time on Rover. She helped me so much and put my mind at ease. I wholeheartedly recommend her.”

“Alex was so helpful for us. We needed somewhere to put our dogs for an evening for my daughters graduation from MSU and a few hiccups came up along the way and Alex was able to accommodate a few last minute changes. She sent us pictures and videos so we would know the animals had settled in. Definitely would recommend her.”
“Bishop enjoyed his first time with Kasey. He's always a little freaked out when I leave him. But he settled in pretty well. Kasey sent lots of photos. Plus her dogs made him feel more comfortable. It was a good experience for hi, Thanks!!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 4 years old, mainly my own until about age 11 when I started to help out taking care of family and friends dogs as well! I’ve been trusted to walk, feed, sit, and bathe their pets since then. I’m great with pets, and enjoy playing with them as well! I’m currently working a part time job that is very flexible. I typically work 8:30am-3pm Monday-Thursday, but I can easily adjust my hours to fit your pups needs. If your pup needs constant supervision I’m free Friday-Sunday for boarding! When I pet sit in my home it just depends on what the owner and pet is comfortable with. I’ll follow the instructions on how to care for their pet because each one if different. Each one will be cared for to my best ability!

Be careful! You might just end up feeling like your pup loves Breita and Fam more than you. We have to watch when we mention that he is going to see Breita and Selena, because he will whine and try to heard us out the door once he hears their names. Then when we get there he is out the truck as soon as we allow and it’s as if we don’t exist. Needless to say, that this is because they take such good care of him. he knows going there means having a good time. His excitement gives us such peace of mind knowing the love and care he gets while we are away. So thanks again for giving Finn another great weekend!

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
