“Lucia is fantastic. We are first time reptile owners and it was great to know that our sitter has a lot of experience taking care of tortoises. We were able to leave the country knowing Ged was in capable and caring hands. She is communicative and understanding of our needs. We will definitely be rebooking with Lucia in the future!”

“Carlie took great care of my dogs while I was out of town for a wedding. She arrived on time, even stayed a little longer than the 30 minutes, and had great communication throughout. Very happy and would definitely use her again!”

“Carla was absolutely amazing! Even though my trip ended up being canceled, she still honored the booking and came on the days we had scheduled. I was in and out of the house during that time, but she remained professional, flexible, and very understanding of the situation. Most importantly, she was wonderful with my dog and showed so much care and kindness. It really gave me peace of mind knowing my pup was in good hands. I truly appreciate her reliability and compassion, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter!”

About: I’ve taken care of basically any type of dog in my decade of taking care pets. Patience is key when meeting new pets to give them time to trust I live and work at a campground, taking care of pets is one of my duties and since I have a house on the property with a fenced in backyard, the dogs are easily able to run free in the yard with no worries of escape. I will make sure all your pets needs are met. No matter how untrusting they may be, with my patience and care your pet will feel loved for
“Amber was so wonderful!! She was so kind and caring to our dog, and did everything we asked for a drop-in visit. Everything went smoothly, we couldn’t of asked for anything more! Will definitely be using her again!”

“Kelly was amazing! I would highly recommend her to anyone needing a dog sitter in the area. She was professional, reliable and really sweet with our older dog Scooter. We had complete peace of mind during our vacation knowing that Scooter was in good hands. We're already planning on using her during our next trip!”

“I was so lucky to find Alyssa! She’s extremely reliable and very thorough in her care of my cat. He warmed up to her immediately and usually he’s very shy. She’s very intuitive and gentle with him and ensures his food and water are replenished and his litter is clean. I highly recommend her services and look forward to working with her again!”

About: I have taken care of dogs since I was a young teenager. They give unconditional love and are so happy that they make you happy. I have two of my own and would have more if I could. I regularly run with them, play ball, play tug of war and even swim with them in the ocean when I can make it there. I give baths and clip nails. I am very good at continuing training with dogs with simple commands like "stay", "wait", "sit", "lay" And i also train using hand gestures. Dogs are a huge part of my life and i don't know know I would do without mine. So let me continue my journey on giving dogs the best life they can get. Let me love your doggies too!!
About: I’ve taken care of dogs my whole life. But I’ve cared for my dog Tickle for 12 years now. I trained him as a puppy and care for him in his old age. I can do it all!! I’ve also cared for cats and fostered cats. I can administer medication, give baths, clean litter boxes, go for walks, and more! I am currently out of work and so I’m pretty available through out the week. I babysit sometimes but it’s usually once a week and very random. I am very careful with animals!! I know taking care of my older dog I take it very serious about what he eats. I know different animals have different rules. Also.. ANIMALS NEED LOVE!! I can give them love so they don’t feel lovely, take them for walks, give them treats and food, and anything else that is needed.
“Kasey was absolutely amazing! She was communicative, professional, and timely. I cannot say enough great things about Kasey. Leaving my pups is never easy but she definitely gave me peace of mind and my pups absolutely loved her. She did such a great job and I cannot thank her enough. Will definitely be my go to dog sitter from now on! Thanks again Kasey!”

About: Growing up my family always had pets. I bought my first dog when I was 17 and have cared for dogs of all sizes and breeds since then. I love the fur babies. They are not just pets. A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.
Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Willards stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.
Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Willards. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
