“Amber was amazing with my cat Pepper while I was away, she sent photos of him to ensure he was ok and went above and beyond when my stay was extended and I had to add an extra day. I would highly recommend her to all pet parents looking for a pet sitter!”

“Diana was a pleasure to have watch our fuzzy family. She was prompt, communicative, and kind. Diana even excelled at having to provide our one cat his daily syringes, despite being unfamiliar with orally medicating cats beforehand. I highly recommend Diana for your pet-sitting needs.”

I have experience with a wide variety of pets from cats and dogs to rabbits, pigs, and lizards. Pet care is a large part of my life and I'm always willing and working to make it a larger part. About: I have had dogs since I was in preschool. I started my understanding of them and other animals when I turned nine. Since then, I always have had my and other people’s pets interest at heart. Today, my dogs are ages eight and eleven and I am their most trusted person in the house. I’ve trained them both despite being in school and I take care of their hygiene. This includes brushing their fur, washing them, and cleaning their teeth. When I am not taken care of their hygiene, I make sure they have a daily playtime or cuddle session so they have some love everyday. I have a part time job that requires me to work on Friday evenings, some Mondays, Wednesday nights, Friday nights, and Sunday however I do have a cancellation on those days sometimes and I will let clients know. Other than that I am very flexible on both weekdays and weekends. If I am unable to work, I will communicate immediately to the best of my ability. I make sure hazards are out of range and site of the animal in care. I don’t rush the bond, and take it to the pet’s pace for trust. At home, my dogs at senior dogs that I have trained since they were puppies and we have a lot of trust in each other and a great bond. I can’t perform service at my own house since I have a toddler sibling who my dogs have gotten used to but I do not want to stress anyone’s pets out. We also have family members who have allergies.

“Alex was great! She took great care of our dog, and was generous with her time and communication which was appreciated because we were nervous leaving the pup for the first time since moving to the area. Our dog is a cuddler who clearly adopted Alex happily into the pack. Would definitely recommend!”

About: I’m a lifelong animal lover who believes pets deserve their own little staycation while you’re away! Whether it’s a neighborhood walk, some backyard playtime, belly rubs on the couch, or simply keeping them company, I’ll make sure your pet feels happy, comfortable, and loved. I’m dependable, attentive, and happy to stick to your pet’s normal routine — meals, walks, medications, playtime, and all the extra snuggles they’ll allow. I’ll also send plenty of photo updates, so you can relax knowing your furry family member is being well cared for and getting lots of love while you’re gone. 🐾 My schedule is flexible as my husband is a business owner and I work part-time for him, which gives me plenty of time to work pet care into my day. I’m happy to plan visits, walks, feeding times, and check-ins around your pet’s normal routine whenever possible. Whether you need occasional help, vacation coverage, or regular visits, I’ll do my best to make things easy and stress-free for both you and your pet. 🐾 Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine will always come first. “This is the third time I've had Leanne do drop-in visits for my kitty Bandit. I had to contact Leanne urgently as we needed to go out of town unexpectedly for my father's funeral. Leanne was very prompt with responding back to me and was able to do drop-in visits kind of last minute for several days. Leanne is super efficient and prompt and always gave me a detailed Rover card after each visit with a few photos. It was a load off my mind that Bandit was well cared for during this difficult time for me.”

“Chelsea was wonderful! She was so patient with our hardheaded shepherd mix and really won both our dogs over. Will absolutely request her assistance again and highly recommend her.”

About: I have had dogs since I was a baby. I have cared for dogs of every stage of life, and I’m super passionate about senior dogs and small animals. Both my dogs are friendly with ferrets and other small animals, always supervised of course. I have experience in dogs, cats, ferrets, and all rodents. No experience with reptiles but I have read a lot about the husbandry of geckos and bearded dragons. Always willing to learn to have your pet be most comfortable in our home. I currently work from home so I have plenty of extra time for animals. We (my husband and I) already dedicate a huge portion of our time to our dogs so we would love to add more to the mix lol. My daughter (6yo) also loves animals and is learning the ropes of helping take care of them (future vet in the making) ☺️ We have a very big yard, and while it’s not fenced in there is still plenty of space to run on a lead! I can also help with potty training, pad training and lead training as well as socializing with our two friendly, calm older dogs.
About: Hi, I've been around pets for the last 15ish years with that I've learned that not all dogs are the same and will react the same way towards everyone. I have worked with dogs who were previously in shelters, nervous dogs, fearful dogs, and anxious dogs. I have experience dog sitting small and big dogs. I have potty trained my own dogs and have helped friends potty train as well. I'm comfortable with bathing, brushing, feeding, walking, and interacting with dogs. I have worked with special needs dogs and am comfortable changing their diapers, applying creams and ointments, and applying wraps or bandages if needed. I'm comfortable feeding, cleaning litter boxes, and brushing cats. I've also taken care of small reptiles like bearded dragons and geckos, as well as birds like cockatiels and parakeets. I just moved to the area and have flexible availability. I am available for drop ins and walks throughout the day. No time is too early or too late. I'm open to last minute drop ins or walks as long as it is communicated. I'm great at sticking to your pets eating schedule as well as establishing routines if needed. I'm able to clean up after your pet, feed them, interact with them, and stimulate their brain as well.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
