“Gabrielle took great care of our cats and was in constant communication with us about how they were doing, including cleaning up a plant that one had knocked over. She also sent lots of pictures which was appreciated.”

“Patrick did an outstanding job caring for our dog and home. He was attentive, responsible, and kept us well-informed with great communication throughout. Our dog was clearly well cared for, and we returned to a spotless house. We would not hesitate to book him again and highly recommend him to others.”

“Kristin was wonderful. She took excellent care of Baxter. They took lots of walks. She went above and beyond. Everything was neat and clean when I got home. She's new to Rover and was perfect. I will definitely use her again.”

“Elizabeth has stayed overnight at my house and watched Mack and Aries for me twice now and has done a terrific job! I have returned home to happy dogs and my home in good condition! I have peace of mind when I am traveling and Elizabeth is with Mack and Aries.”

“Michael is a great babysitter. He makes sure he is super attentive with them and communicative with the parents. He let Hercules sleep in the bed with him. That was so nice. Thanks michael”

“Heather has watched my doggie and cat 2x. They are great, sends me lots of pictures and updates. Keeps the house super clean. Simply the best.”

“Mariah was wonderful - and so incredibly accommodating to our needs, as we travel across country. She took the girls, (Cher and Dion), on long walks to see the sights and sniffs of the city - and provided me with all the pictures I could ever want. Couldn't recommend her enough and will definitely be reaching out again the next time we're back in Pittsburgh.”

About: I have 8 years of experience with walking, pet sitting, feeding, giving medication and bathing pets. Caring for animals has always been a passion of mine. I work a casual job with short shifts and long breaks in between, so I am almost always available for walks and check-ins on pets. I always find it most important to keep pets away from hazards both indoors and outdoors. Anything toxic, sharp, etc. is always kept out of reach. Pets will be kept on a leash when outside in a non-fenced area.

About: I've cared for dogs since I was young and have handled dogs both large and small. I've cared for cats since 2019, I am newer to them technically, but I love how different they can be. I run my own business, so making my own hours allows me a lot of wiggle room on doing check-ins or rearranging my day to allow for walks. My home is a temple to good vibes and my happy lil buddies (Sprout and Tansy) get along with everyone they've met so far.
“Tony was exceptional! It was so obvious that he spent time loving on our pets, not just tending to them. He sent tons of updates and excellent pictures while he was here and helped us feel so confident in their wellbeing. He left our home better than we left it and I am so looking forward to working with him again. Thanks Tony!”

“Had previously used Kaitlyn for a drop in for 3 little dogs who have pea sized bladders and require walks every 3 hours. They also don't always agree on routing which is to say they are not necessarily easy to walk. This time, she stayed at our home for 4 days. All went perfectly. Kaitlyn is meticulous about following directions give and is genuinely concerned about providing the same level of care that pups get from their owners. We give Kaitlyn 12 paws up and plan to use her often.”
“Sydney was great with our husky and pug! Our pug is diabetic, blind and elderly and Sydney was fine with giving her insulin. They were both well cared for. We will definitely seek out her services when we need a sitter in the future!”

“Olivia was wonderful with our dog! She asked thoughtful questions on how to best care for her, and was very understanding of our dog being reactive around other dogs. She sent updates and pictures while we were away so we knew she was being well cared for. We would definitely book with Olivia again!”

“Cole was punctual, communicative and responsive. The animals looked happy and well taken care of when we returned! Will be reaching out again next time we need someone to watch them!”

“Teneisha is wonderful! She is very patient and caring. My boy suffers separation anxiety and is very hesitant with new people, but Teneisha was there making sure he had his food and water and was well cared for. She is a very intelligent and responsible woman, who made me feel very comfortable leaving for a couple of days and not having my own anxiety about Reuben's well being. I highly recommend Teneisha!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Wilkins Township
Sandra was an absolute angel and took incredible care of our entire team of animals! She was so loving, attentive, and caring, and her communication was wonderful throughout our time away. We felt completely at ease knowing our beloved animals were in such good hands. I couldn’t recommend her highly enough to anyone looking for someone they can truly trust with their pets! 🤍

Autumn and Addie were absolutely wonderful! They sent so many pictures and videos throughout my trip, and it was obvious how much they cared about Nellie and Chi. Seeing how happy, playful, and comfortable Nellie was made me feel so at ease while I was on vacation. I never had to worry because I knew they were in great hands. They went above and beyond, and I would absolutely book with them again. I can’t recommend them highly enough :)

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wilkins Township walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wilkins Township maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wilkins Township choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
