“Gwynne, as always, was amazing!! She was able to help us with almost no notice. We were able to enjoy a last minute get away and we knew our fur babies were in excellent hands”

About: I know leaving your pet with someone else can be stressful. My goal is to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’ll send photo updates, follow your pet’s routine closely, and treat them like they’re my own 🐾❤️ I’m currently a senior high school student that has lots of free time after school so doing pet care after my school business will be no such problem at all! Every since I was young I’ve always had love for animals and now that I can willingly take care of them for people I’m need of help I’m super excited to show the skills and care I offer to their pets!
“Adam watched my cats this weekend (two drop-in visits) for the first time; he was fantastic and exceeded all my expectations! He showed up exactly at the arranged times and texted me 11 pictures each visit which not only showed me my beloved cats, but also showed me that all of the necessary tasks we had discussed previously had been completed (ie a picture of a cleaned litter pan, a picture of a food plate arranged with medication, etc). And bullet items for each cat such as if poop and or pee was found in the litterpan. I highly recommend Adam and will definitely be using his services in the future! Thank you Adam!”

“Melissa is beyond a 5 star sitter!! I was very anxious leaving my 2 labs while I went away for a few days. Melissa had a meet and greet with them and answered all my questions. I was SO relieved! She sent pictures twice a day which kept me reassured the pups were doing well. She went above and beyond!!”

About: I’ve loved and owned cats and dogs through every phase of my life, making animal care second nature to me. As an extremely empathetic and caring person, I treat every pet like family. I absolutely love snuggling kitties and promise to give your fur baby all the patience, warmth, and attention they deserve! I work from Monday to Thursday each week, so I'm available after 5pm on those days. On Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, I am always free to spend time with your furry friend. As a pregnant mom living in an apartment, I'm currently only available for walks and drop-in visits with cats and dogs (up to medium size). I'm also open to caring for small animals and exotic pets - feel free to message me and ask!
“Ash had another great week of visits with Anna! I really appreciate Anna's love for animals and her commitment to being a great communicator. I will be moving very soon and am very sad that by moving out of the area I will have to find someone new to visit with Ash. I am so grateful for Anna's visits with my dog. I highly recommend booking with Anna!”

“Andrew was incredible!! He watched our 2 cats while we were out of town for about a week and was very quick to respond and sent us lots of pictures. He was very accommodating to some last minute changes and was so good with our little kitties!! Will definitely be using his services again. Highly recommend!”

“Devaeh was super communicative, punctual, friendly, and most importantly, so sweet and kind to my babies. We booked with her after an injury sidelined me from being able to adequately care for my pups during the day, while my husband was at work. She was such a big help!”
“Ashley was so great with our cat, Dizzy. Dizzy was clearly well taken care of, and was excited when Ashley came to visit her. I really appreciated all of the pictures she sent, showing us what Dizzy was up to. I felt at ease in our travels knowing that Dizzy had such good company. We will definitely be booking Ashley again!”

“Amanda is fantastic with my cats! She has great communication, and goes above and beyond to care for my pets. As always, it was a pleasure to book her services, and I will definitely re-book in the future!”

“Thank you so much Jessica for taking such amazing care of my babies. Your messages were so funny and well written. My trip was very peaceful and relaxing and all the more so because I had someone so caring it made me feel such peace of mind knowing someone like you was looking after my fur babies! I looked forward everyday to reading your daily updates in the notes on rover. I'm glad my cat Gizmo got the chance to boss somebody else around for a change lol.”

“In a world where it’s difficult to find someone to trust with your most prized possessions like your pets when you have to be away from home, Chrisalyn G. Is that person. From the moment you talk to her, you know your dealing with someone very professional, extremely loving with pets, and compassionate. We went through an extensive phone interview as well as a meet and greet where she met our dog in her environment to see if we were an equal got both us as well as her and I really appreciated that. I would absolutely recommend her without question. She did a fantastic job watching our Neah and we will always use Chrisalyn G. She has become part of our family.”

“May was awesome with my two dogs. One dog was diagnosed with diabetes this year and has developed diabetic cataracts. I hesitated to leave them at home on a recent trip, but May took great care of my girls! She is wonderful and did a great job administering Bitsy's insulin. She has my highest possible recommendation!”

About: I grew up with dogs and cats as pets, so have lifelong experience caring for animals. My family owned a small farm for a period of time, so I also gained experience with horses in addition to cats and dogs. We owned a German Shepard and a cockapoo, so I do have direct experience with both smaller and larger dogs. In high school, I took 4 years of animal science, which further advanced my knowledge of pets and gave me hands on experience in a pre-veterinarian science atmosphere. I plan on returning to school in the near future to further my studies in the animal sciences field and pursue a career as a Veterinarian Technician. I have had a life full of loving animals and live to care for them any way I can.
“Kimberly was great and my one cat was very comfortable with her, the other is a hermit with just about everyone. They were well taken care of and their litter boxes were in good shape when i GOT HOME.”

About: I have health care experience from my daily career and I've been taking care of all kinds of pets since I was a little girl. This includes several kitten rescues and rehoming. My little girl abby was a recue. Feeding, grooming, litter care needs, emotional support, love, time, and attention all go towards my cat at home on a daily basis. It's a labor of love. I would approach each clients needs with focus on respect, reliability, attention to details, and loving care towards each clients pet. I understand each clients needs will be individual.

Bandit and the cats were so happy when we got home from our trip - I was worried about leaving Bandit because he had just gotten over a tummy issue and was on special food but Gwynne said it was no problem. She even updated me on Bandit's recovery progress over the 3 days I was gone, and that really put my mind at ease!

Chrissy is absolutely amazing! She took such wonderful care of my two babies while I was away, and I couldn’t be happier with her service. I loved the updates and photos she shared, and it was clear my cats adored her. Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wilkes-Barre. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
