“Jackie is always fantastic with Corey! She accepts him into her beautiful home as if he was one of her own. She is very generous with pictures. Corey loves staying there! Thank you so much, Jackie!”

“I can’t speak highly enough about Shalyn, Joe, and their family. We went away for an extended period of time and were adamant about finding the perfect dog sitter for our girl Lucy, and that’s exactly what we found. From the moment they took her in, they made Lucy part of their family. Not to mention, she found a new best friend in their German Shepherd, Sadie. Every single day, I received photos and videos of them playing nonstop. It was incredibly heartwarming, and I couldn’t have been happier knowing Lucy was in such loving and capable hands. Just to put things in perspective, Shalyn, Joe, and family are about a 40 minute drive from our home, but they will always be our go to whenever we need care for Lucy. Thank you so much for everything. You are sincerely the best.”

“Jeannie hosted Dahlia for her first dog boarding experience and it went awesome! she provided great care and shared photos of how Dahlia was doing throughout the stay. With a fenced backyard that is big and well taken care of, Dahlia had a blast with all the grass to run around in! Jeannie has awesome kids that also provided great company for Dahlia. I recommend Jeannie to anyone needing dog services as she does provides high quality care and follows any instructions provided really well. Thank you Jeannie!”

About: Hello, I’m a mother of one, and we own a Siamese cat named Atlas. We had a dog a couple of years ago and he has since passed due to an accident and as we’re opening our hearts to the thought of a new member we’re also opening our doors to care for pets while we go on our own journey of finding our own Canine Best Friend. We reside in a a very safe- family friendly neighborhood.( Elgin, IL) Our cat; Atlas stays indoors and in his own room as he likes his privacy so there is no worries about anccidental ill encounters. Since I am a home-maker, a have a lot of time on my side. My regular routine with a toddler is very active in terms of going outside, going for walks, running etc and we wake up everyday with the same goal. “Be tired by the end of the day” 🏃🙏 Yard is UNFENCED. All dogs will be on their leash when playing in the yard. If they have an EXTENDED length leash, it’d be great for them to run around more freely!

“Katey and her family have done a wonderful job taking care of our Goldendoodle puppy during two vacations. Katey sends daily updates and she and her family (and pets) are great with our dog. I recommend her!”

“Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of our dog. Nicole is extremely professional, and we truly appreciated the frequent updates and pictures. I would 100% recommend her services to anyone looking for a passionate, loving second home for their pet.”

“My dogs love staying at Miss Danielle's! She gives them lots of snuggles and playtime in the backyard. They always come home exhausted for about the next 24 hours after I bring them home! I'm glad we have someone we trust with our fur babys when we're out of town.”

“We used Eric for 2 weeks of boarding when we were out of the country. We received daily communication and answers to our questions. He was wonderful with both dogs -- especially the new puppy. Highly recommend!”

“Linda and George took amazing care of my pup. They sent update photos everyday and even took my pup out and about, which he loved every second of it! I would 1000% recommend them for any type of dog sitting and I know my pup can’t wait for the next trip back!”

“Dave and Mary were amazing to our pups. They were very flexible when our flight was delayed and one of the pups needed extra medicine during our absence. Their communication and pics were very reassuring and almost daily. Couldn't have left my dogs with anyone better. Awesome experience. Will use again for sure!”

“Beth was a wonderful sitter for my fur baby. She was very loving and made my Tig feel at home. I could tell he was comfortable with her and so was I. Thank you for taking such good care of Tiggy I know he made a good friend. We will definitely have her watch him again in the future.”

“Patricia took great care of Tess for us! She was very communicative and send lots of updates. Tess came home happy and healthy! We would definitely ask Patricia to help us with Tess again”

“Steph was great. My dog enjoyed running around the yard, playing with her pup, and relaxing when he wanted a break. Steph sent updates during the stay, which I really appreciated. Her home was clean and welcoming, and my dog was his normal happy self when I picked him up. Drop off and pick up were easy, and she was flexible with timing. I would happily book with her again.”

“This was the first time of Bingo with Greg and Sonia. Bingo returned happy since she had the chance to make new friends and apparently boss them around ? We received pictures of Bingo as the days progressed and we could tell the difference of her getting more relaxed. We are booking again for Christmas ?”

“We just want to say thank you to Molly she was really a great pick for our Australian Shepard named auggie he has separation anxiety really bad and Molly did all that she could to make him feel at home we are very thankful we found her to make our vacation a lot enjoyable knowing auggie was in good hands thanks Molly”

“Yaqi is absolutely the best, I have an elderly Frenchie who is generally with me 24/7. I was very worried about leaving her with anybody but Yaqi very quickly put my mind at ease. She sends many pics and videos and my dog loves her. I won’t sorry next time I leave town because I know my dog will be with Yaqi.”

About: I've taken care of dogs since childhood. Today I'm a knowledgeable and worldly person with a good understanding of most breeds, and the needs of all dogs and cats. I care for the pets of friends and relatives on a regular basis. I work remotely part-time, and have a very flexible work and personal schedule. I'm an easy going person, and i'm familiar with most of the parks in central Kane County. I'm very liberal with petting of any dog or cat, and I enjoy going for long walks with any dog, rain or shine. Pets often need human attention and I'm happy to provide it for them. Its a win-win!
“We boarded our 2 little guys with Rosarin for several nights and could tell they were very well cared for. We got updates via the app on their days felt relieved they were in excellent care. Would highly recommend!”

“Carla was great. Fin was good company with her dog, and Carla sent me periodic photos of Fin being comfortable and well cared for. Fin is just under 16, and is very old and slow at this point. Carla even carried Fin up stairs at nights so that he could sleep in their bedroom with their dog, rather than alone by himself downstairs. Carla also gave fin his morning meds with his food. Thank you, Carla!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Wildwood Valley home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Wildwood Valley.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Wildwood Valley sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
