“Lexi was fabulous, Walter and Bageera were both very well taken care of and we were kept up to date the whole time. We missed our kids (pets) very much while we were gone but very confident that we left them in good hands with Lexi. NO WORRIES 😉 👍🏼”

About: I currently own an amazing certified Good Boy Austalian Cattle Dog and two snuggly cats. I have have always owned at least one pet, both cats and dogs since I was little. I have done a decent amount of pet sitting for neighbors and friends. I have even had to give oral meds to one dog I dog sat. If you have any questions, please ask! Dogs will always get at least a 15 minutes walk because my dog usually needs a longer one. I sometimes give my cats and dog breakfast and then usually give the dog a quick 15 walk in the morning before leaving for work at 7:30 am. I get back home around 3:00 pm and usually give my dog his actual long walk between 40 and 70 minutes depending on weather. I feed the animals and then have dinner and usually just relax and snuggle on the couch with at least one of the fur kids. I fit in other cleaning and what not in there but I always make it a point to walk my doggo and make sure they get snuggles since I am gone for a good portion of the day. I have room for a crate for a crate trained dog. I have a moderately sized backyard that is well fenced in. My dog is a counter surfer so we have baby gates for both the kitchen and the extra bedroom. The extra bedroom serves as the cat room so the cats have a dedicated space. Stuff can be adjusted if you have a cat not used to dogs, so they can have that entire room or vice versa our cats can go in there for a dog that is not cat friendly. We only live five minutes from Marbletown Animal Hospital of any emergencies arise needing urgent care if your vet is not available.
“When I saw Paige was on Rover, I jumped to book her for drop-in visits during our vacation. Knowing her dedication and boundless affection for pets — no matter their quirks or issues! — from her work at the Ulster County SPCA, I knew my husband and I would be able to enjoy our trip without worry for our two elderly cattle dogs who need daily medication. Sure enough, our pups were well-cared for and are now both big fans of her. Thanks again, Paige!”

“Stephanie watched our cat for 10 days (twice daily drop-ins) and we will definitely use her services again in the future. She was always communicative and accessible, professional and punctual, and most importantly, incredibly caring with our cat. Thank you, Stephanie!!”

“Timothy was a great sitter for our elderly cat. He was patient, kind and easily administered medication for our fur guy. We absolutely will hire Timothy again when we’re out of town and know our cat Stoopy would be in good hands.”

I am now a full time student furthering my career. I have served clients across Ulster and Delaware county. I’m comfortable, reliable, and dedicated to giving every animal the attention, patience, and care they deserve. I genuinely enjoy meeting and caring for all types of animals, and I look forward to caring for yours! (: I’m currently in school- looking to graduate very soon. My availability is pretty flexible and I will be more than willing to work around my schedule to fit your fur babies needs. About: I grew up having dogs, cats, chickens, a turtle and a mouse and always wished to have more! And then started pet sitting for other people’s furry babies. I have experience with the most active and excited, as well as shy and quiet souls. I’ve learned how to take care of puppies and senior dogs. I’ve taken some classes for my mom’s dog to train him which gave me even more of an understanding of their behavior. But most of all, I truly love each pet I meet! I work as a nanny 9am-4pm on Monday& Tuesday. I do volunteer work a few hours throughout the week. please let me know your pet’s needs in advance! I mostly care for pets at your home. Let me know what your expectations are so I can carefully consider if I'm a good match for your pet!
About: As a social worker, I'm highly attuned to both human and animal needs/issues, and love getting to know and cater to unique personalities - or provide loving care for those who are ill or have special needs. I started taking care of neighbors' pets at an early age and though we only had fish and birds and a cat at home, dogs and other animals became a special love of mine. I have been cat, dog, bird and other little furry friend sitting for over four decades and have done so for several years as a 5 star sitter on Trusted Housesitters. I love making new furry friends, both for sharing my positive, attentive energy with them, and for nourishing in the innocent sweet playfulness they often offer. The mutual benefits of animal care are no joke! As an avid traveler and travel writer (we social workers need periodic breaks from our big jobs), pet sitting has been a fabulous win-win-for-all! I love immersing in local scenes, and enjoy getting to know the nature, infrastructure, and pulse of new places. Perhaps most importantly, I love hunkering down for writing (I am a published writer in addition to being a social worker) with the delightful energy of furry friends beside me. They seem to like it too! I grew up in a small city, have lived in a major city for over two decades and LOVE being in more rural and remote areas too. You can count on me to bring my strong sense of professionalism and responsibility to your pets and to your home. I’ve often been told that other than happy pets, there was no sign I had even been there! I am currently freelancing/focusing my time on writing projects so I often have a flexible schedule....and love taking work breaks with furry friends! A veteran 5-start pet-sitter, I am new to Rover and am figuring out how the calendar and geography works so it can reflect where I am and when I'm available. Most folks comment that they can barely tell I've been there. Cleanliness, respect, and loving care are my hallmarks. I make sure to honor any requests and instructions for people's homes, which often have quirks and special needs -- and to of course respect privacy too, just as I would as a social worker. As for furry friends, they get exceptional, reliable, patient, playful, caring energy from me while I make sure that all their food, litter, or other needs are met.
“Jessica was great— will definitely contact her again next time I need to go out of town. She was very good at communicating and sending photo updates. The house and the cats were in good order upon our return. Bravo!”

I can stick to their feeding and walking schedule, provide consistent companionship, and make sure they feel safe, loved, and entertained while you’re away. Being home all day also makes me a great fit for puppies, senior pets, or dogs who need a little extra TLC. When I care for pets in their own home, my goal is to keep their routine as familiar and stress-free as possible. I follow your pet’s routine closely & I make sure they’re comfortable in their space, following their usual schedule for walks, meals, playtime, and cuddles. Whether it’s sticking to their favorite walking route or knowing exactly how they like their food prepared, I pay close attention to every detail you share. I know how much the little details matter! Being in their own environment helps your pet feel more relaxed, and I’m there to make sure they feel loved every step of the way. I’m experienced in administering a variety of medications, including flea and tick ointments, oral chewy meds, and pills; whether they’re hidden in a treat or given directly. I stay calm and patient to make the process as stress-free as possible. I’m comfortable managing multiple pets and giving each one the attention and care they need. I treat your home with the same respect and care I give to your pet: clean, secure, and exactly how you left it. I provide regular updates with messages & photos so you can feel confident your pet is safe, happy, and in good hands & know everything is going smoothly while you’re away.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
