“Exceptional Pet Sitter! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amanda was absolutely wonderful! From the very beginning, she was incredibly sweet, helpful, and highly responsive. Her communication was perfect throughout the entire stay—she kept me constantly updated, asked great questions to ensure Winnie had everything she needed, and went above and beyond by asking if there was anything else she could help with around the house. The photos she sent on a regular basis brought so much peace of mind. It’s clear she truly cares about the animals she watches. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and I will absolutely be booking with her again. Thank you, Amanda! Highly recommended!”

“Paula was amazing with our animals and her communication was excellent. It’s obvious she’s very comfortable with pet care, easing my mind so I could enjoy my vacation. We will definitely use her for future pet sitting!”

“Anne was fantastic and she gave my pets lots of loving. She sent pictures and videos while we were gone, that was helpful. We have a "hospice" dog and a very old dog that need extra TLC and Anne did that. Would highly recommend her.”

“Cory was so amazing and helped us out so much so that we could get married and not worry at all about the dogs. He was attentive and did such an awesome job. Thank you SO much again, Cory!!”

About: I have two dogs and a cat myself. I have always taken care of pets since I was little. I love going on walks and playing. I am currently a full time employee but I have free time on the weekends and after work to provide care to any age pets. I have a fenced in yard with two very friendly dogs and a cat who sleeps all day. I am very good about getting pets out for bathroom breaks and getting their energy out.
“Justin was the BEST!! And super easy to work with! The meet and greet went great and I knew our dogs would be in great hands during the drop in visits! Outstanding communication! Definitely will be booking Justin for any future drop in visits we may need!!”

About: Everybody knows me by the dog lover. If I can take every dog in the world I would. I have 2 years of experience at a dog daycare. As well as a years with my own dog. That’s not including the animals I grew up with. I can take care of all ages from Puppy to senior. If your dog can’t go up and down flights of stairs I would suggest your place. I am currently working part time at a dog daycare. I’ll be available for boarding any day out the week. I’ll be able to do 2 dogs a night depending on the size if we board at my house. I am able to dog sitt and board at your house or mines. We will go on hikes and do daily training. I will proved Beding and blankets. As well as water and if you don’t provide the food I can. I am able to walk your dog multiple times threw out the day as well as going on long walks. I do not live in a house so I don’t have a fenced yard. Your dog will be fed 2-3 times a day depending on what you prefer. And water will be available threw out the day. No matter what your fur baby will be treated at my house the same way I would treat them at your house with love and affection.

About: I’ve been working with pets ever since I was 12 walking them feeding them and taking care of them. I love taking care of pets no matter if it’s cats or dogs I love them all. I am currently working part-time and also a part-time student but I love being outside and going on walks with dogs and taking care of cats just by stopping. I have a pretty decent backyard that is fully gated off and I have two amazing and playful dogs yo-yo and Scooby. They are the cutest dogs ever and another small little furball named Cleo and she is just so adorable.
“This was our first time using Rover, and we are so thankful that we found Chris to care for our cats while we were away. Our family really appreciated how well he took the time to play with and cuddle our cats while he was there caring for their other needs. Thank you!”

“Jessica went above and beyond taking care of our senior dog over a holiday weekend! She made sure that she had food (even opening our automatic dispenser to be sure), topped up her water, played a ton of fetch with her, and even wiped out her ears when they were bothering her. The whole time, she kept us up to date of what was going on, was on time, and was very respectful of our property. Will definitely use her services again. Thank you so much!”

About: I've had dogs my whole life until recently moving away from my childhood home and adopting 2 pigeons. Apart from caring for my own dogs, I've dogsat first neighbors and friends for over a decade. My experience ranges from tiny puppies to dogs the size of a small pony. I've even cared for seniors with incontinence issues, special diets and food-prep needs, and medications. Currently, I get my dog fix by walking dogs for the FXBG SPCA! I work a full-time 9-5 as a hybrid employee and care for my 2 pet pigeons. I'm a runner and love hiking, so I can handle high-energy pets. Most importantly, I just miss hanging out with my family's dogs back in Northern VA, so I'd love to hang out with yours! Because of my pet pigeons, I don't offer services at my own home. For drop in visits and walks with dogs, I always keep them leashed when on public property. I grew up with a fenced backyard wherein my dogs would run free, but I never took them out of the house without a leash.
About: I currently work as a bather at a grooming salon where I regularly work with dogs and cats of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. Additionally, I have worked as a vet assistant at a veterinary hospital in Fredericksburg ,at dog daycares, and at boarding facilities in the past, as well as have personally owned and cared for dogs and cats my entire life! I currently work full-time at a grooming salon, but I find time while I’m off to care for pets! My schedule is available on my page. I have the utmost respect for both your home and your furry family members. As such, I treat every client, pet, and their property as if they belonged to family.
About: Avid dog lover. I grew up surrounded by small dogs. I currently have 2 big dogs that love to play but they also do well with my parents small dogs when we visit. Willing to have your dogs come join the party at the house. We have a fence in yard. My husband and I are willing to do what it takes to make your pup more comfortable. Pets are family. Nothing worse than a bad dog sitter. Will send frequent pictures of your pups while you’re away and give them the perfect amount of cuddles, walks, and pets. Currently on maternity leave! I’m a teacher. My schedule is pretty flexible. My husband and I have different schedules so pets won’t be alone too long at our house. They will have plenty of bathroom breaks. I have 2 playful big dogs. They are good with all dogs and we’d love to have your pups come hangout with us! I’m a teacher but I have plenty of time to give your dog the appropriate care they need to feel comfortable during the week and weekend. I have a fence in yard and my pups are playful so they would have fun playing with your pups. We also walk them every evening.
“Crystal was wonderful with our dogs! There were some tech issues on my end but she was understanding and patient. It’s nice to have someone to help care for our pets when we are away and trust that they will be fine.”

“Jessica was great. She managed to get my dogs to go out in the rain (which they did not want to do!). Even my cat was comfortable with her right away and he’s usually a little skittish with new people. I will definitely be booking with her in the future.”

About: Hi, my name is Kieaira! 💕 I have taken care of dogs for many years now, and also have dogs of my own. So I completely understand communication is key when your fur babies are being taken care of by someone else! Neighbors have asked me to walk there dog with my dog for many years now, and I volunteer to every time. 😊 My schedule is open to early mornings or late evenings, as I work during the day! I would prefer at least a 48 hour notice but can take 24 hour on a case by case basis. ⏰ I have two dogs, Nico and Zara, who I have adopted over the years! I have also fostered dogs from the animal shelter, and gave them comfort until they were transitioned to their new home. I understand that it takes patience, care, and genuine passion to take care of a fur baby. One of my favorite things to do is to run around with my dog, so I will be sure to have enough energy to play with your fur babies!
About: I think one of the biggest things we owe to our dogs is to make sure their needs are well met! Whether they're a timid pup, an outgoing ball of energy, a 24/7 cuddlebug, or a dog who requires a lot of mental stimulation, I've got them covered. Let me treat your pets like I would my own! Best times for scheduling are: From 4pm on - Tuesday thru Thursday Flexible Availability - Mondays and Fridays Total Availability - Majority of Saturdays and Sundays I am comfortable working with your environment to keep your pet happy and safe! Whether that be with a combo harness/collar setup, a gated backyard, a favorite neighborhood, or even something as simple as puppy pads or gates, just communicate your needs!

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:

- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
