About: Hi there! A little about me, I’ve had 3 family cats throughout my childhood, one long haired Maine Coon mix, and 2 male tabbies. I currently have 2 cats (Phoebe and Cashew) that my girlfriend and I have together. They were both adopted as kittens and are domestic shorthairs. About: I love animals. So much so that when I had three dogs and two cats I got a larger bed for the 6 of us. Now I have one dog, Jaz, who is very jazzy even at 11 years old. I have gained lots of experience with a variety of dog behaviors—shy, nervous, reactive—not just from my own dogs. For three years I overnighted dogs every two weeks who were making the journey from a shelter in SC to their forever homes up North. I still have the photos and write-ups of each guest. They have stayed in my heart. I also volunteered with a local rescue to visit their dogs who were kept in a shelter while waiting for their forever homes. I’ve personally rescued and rehomed four dogs and three cats, interviewing each potential owner with meet and greets before transitioning the furry companion to their new home. And, yes, I denied several applications in the search for the right forever home. I am proficient in positive reinforcement training and think it’s super important to add training to everyday activities. It keeps dogs physically active and mentally stimulated. For cats, playtime is very important in keeping them happy and healthy and non-destructive. I’m familiar with local parks and love wearing a dog out. There’s nothing better than watching a happy wornout dog sleep. I think a tired dog is a happy dog—and makes a happy owner. I am comfortable administering pills, eye and ear ointment. One of my cats had to take three pills twice daily! I don’t have experience with injections. All of my dogs and cats at some point have had to take medicine, my current girl takes two pills daily. I would love the chance you to meet you and your fur-baby. I am new to dog walking and cat sitting but hope to make it my primary job so I’m very flexible. Let me know what you need.
