“Emma had a great visit with Tiffany and family. They are welcoming and I found it comforting the way that Emma felt comfortable with them right away. I was traveling and staying at a hotel because of a family wedding. When so sm in town again I will definitely use them to take care of Emma. (My12 year old Shiipoo).”

“They were great hosts and have a great setup for dogs. They were great at communicating and being flexible with travel plans. I felt comfortable leaving my dog with them and trusted them completely. I'll definitely use again in the future.”

“Mule was so wonderful with our two dogs! She communicated regularly and sent lots of pictures and even some videos. She's very attentive and the pictures showed how much fun everyone was having.”
About: Hi! I’m Zinia, a stay-at-home mom living in North Liberty with my husband, Grant, a resident physician at UIHC, and our 2-year-old daughter, Zoe. We lost our sweet Yorkshire Terrier, Missy, to old age after 15 years together. She was such a big part of our family, and we really miss having a dog around! We’re not quite ready to get another dog of our own, but we’d love to have a furry friend to spoil every now and then. That’s really what brought me to Rover. We miss the company of a dog, and I thought this would be a nice way to have one around from time to time while helping out other dog owners. Zoe grew up with Missy and absolutely loves dogs. She’s a gentle little girl who loves to cuddle, read books, and watch movies with any dog willing to keep her company. She’s used to being around small dogs, but of course, I’ll always supervise their interactions. Your dog and Zoe will never be left alone together. Since I’m home with Zoe during the day, your pup will have plenty of company and attention. We like to spend our mornings outside, going for walks around the neighborhood or exploring the nearby trails and parks. We usually go for another walk in the evening, too. The rest of our day is pretty relaxed, with lots of time for playing, lounging around, and cuddling on the couch. Our yard isn’t fenced, so all potty breaks will be on a leash. I take dogs out every couple of hours and more often if they need it. We only take dogs from one family at a time, whether that’s one dog or a few from the same household. We’re really just doing this because we miss having a dog around, so we’d rather keep things small and enjoy spending time with the dogs we have staying with us. That way, each pup gets plenty of love and attention, just like Missy did. I am out of school and I'm home all day on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday. I have a part-time job working as a dental assistant on Tues-Wed-Thurs, from 9am-2 pm. However, the hours are flexible as I can leave late or arrive early or not go if I'm busy and it is more of a learning experience for me. So I can be a little flexible, so shoot me a message and we can figure it out :) I live in an apartment, but make no mistake, we spend plenty of time outside! Throughout the day, I keep owners updated with photos, videos, and messages to provide peace of mind. We're fortunate to reside near a dog park, allowing for daily visits to keep our furry guests active and entertained. Exercise and playtime are essential parts of our routine, and I'm more than happy to ensure your dog gets ample opportunity to socialize and have a blast. In our home, we prioritize comfort and relaxation, so you won't find any crates here. Instead, your pup will have free reign to chill on the couch and enjoy the cozy atmosphere. If I need to step out briefly for a quick errand, I'll make sure to secure the bedroom doors and let them have full access to the living room. Depending on the dog's temperament, I may even bring them along on my short outings. (See my typical day below for more info)
“100000/10 recommend! I had a last minute cancelation with my normal dog sitter and was stuck. I downloaded Rover and found Mikayla. From the moment my dog got there to the moment she left- Mikayla took the BEST care of her. I got photos, videos, and so many updates. Being out of the country and having someone who loved my dog like I do, meant the world. I don’t know if I will ever use someone else on Rover with how amazing Mikayla was.”

“Stacy did an AWESOME job with my 1 year old (LARGE) dog, Jemma. She worked with her on commands that we'd been working on and gave her lots of love! She sent pictures every day and was very easy to work with. She is great with animals and was able to watch Jemma for a week while I was travelling - what a life saver she is!!!!”

“Danny Boy had an amazing time with Michaela! Pickup and drop off were smooth and easy. Michaela was extremely communicative and great with photo updates every day. Will definitely be back!”

“We are SO grateful for Kat. She allowed our Dakota to stay in her home for a week while we were away for our wedding. Before the week vacation began, I was so nervous to leave Dakota with someone I didn’t know, we’d never done that before. Though, Kat went above and beyond. She moved plants around in her home to help keep Dakota safe. She allowed Dakota to drink water from the sink, like she does at home, to help keep Dakota happy! During the stay, she sent pictures and updates each day. And at the end, she had everything packed and ready to go for me upon pick up! It couldn’t have been a better experience and Kat a more perfect sitter. We will definitely be asking Kat for her help in the future! Thank you!!!!!!!”

“One of the best experiences I have had on Rover. They sent pictures of the dogs playing and having fun. They were even super accommodating when we were very late to pick up due to traffic issues. 10/10 would recommend.”

“Nicole, is very pleasant to work with. Could not ask for better care for our little fur baby. Nicole provided ample updates including pics and videos throughout the stay. I would highly recommend Nicole and without hesitation use her again in the future.”

“We are so happy to find Grace. We are pretty new to Iowa and she took amazing care of Callie during our wedding and honeymoon. I didn’t worry one bit and felt so comfortable knowing she was in good hands!”

“Jamie is such a GOLD/DIAMOND STAR sitter. I messaged her at 9PM about an emergency pick up because my current dog sitter was not taking a good care of my dog when I was out of town. We never work with each other before but she was so responsive and was ready to pick my dog up at 9AM the next day! Less than 12 hours of notice! She gave multiple updates with pictures and video throughout the day. I feel bad sometimes because I don’t even response to them as much as she send them! She asked for dietary restrictions, patient with my dog when she first met him. She even gave him food topper from her own! He is eating better than when he is with me! When I have a delay to return, she make sure that my dog is actually being put in a good hand and not with the old dog sitter who did not treat him right. I feel so safe to have my baby in her care because she has such a great heart. I would 100% work with Jamie again! Her price is so affordable for the quality of care that she provides!”

“I left my pup with Alysha for a week and could not have better things to say about her and the care she gave my dog. I am usually a bit anxious leaving my dog with anyone but was so comfortable because I knew that she was being treated like a part of her family. I got several pictures a day and my pup seemed so happy. Would definitely board my dog with her again and recommend her to anyone!”

About: I have loved critters of all kinds since childhood. I attended obedience training for my family Rottweiler at age 6, and have cared for many big-breed dogs such as pitbulls, American bulldogs, mastiffs, Great Danes, labs, and more. I have been the trusted pet sitter for friends and family starting as early as middle school, and am also very comfortable around small breeds and senior babies. I have experience with Boston terriers, yorkies, daschunds, beagles, and more. I have and am comfortable with administering necessary meds or topicals for pets with extra health needs. I have also cared for cats, bunnies, fish, and turtles. I am very passionate about rescuing, and happy to discuss any extra care your pet may need due to a life transition like fostering or rescuing. I watched a PETA ad when I was 9 years old and have been vegetarian ever since… I just really love animals! :) I am working part-time from home at the moment, so I am very flexible currently with my schedule. I am typically available in the mornings, afternoons, and early evenings! I have a fenced in backyard, and I do not have a dog of my own. I have a dining area with an extra couch that can be sectioned off if needed for a crate or food. I do have a senior cat who is indoor, who is very friendly with dogs. He grew up around my mom’s beagles, so he doesn’t mind company/energy! I can section off my basement stairs and kitchen for safety if needed. I cannot board any cat-aggressive dogs for my cat’s safety. I do not use any non pet-safe cleaners or pest control in my home.

“James was kind and attentive to Junes needs, he took her on nice long walks to tire her out and sent a few updates! James is very easy to communicate with and understands dogs wells! We greatly appreciated how he cared for our dog!”

During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
