About: I’ve taken care of friend’s and family’s pets for years when they’re away on vacation/travels. I pay attention to detail, meaning that I won’t just feed them and meet their basic needs; I will also share quality time with them so that they don’t feel alone, bored, or anxious while you’re gone. I’m a teacher on sabbatical, so my availability is pretty flexible nowadays. I’m very active and enjoy a good long walk, but I’m also very calm and focused. Your pet will feel like they have a companion while also having their needs met. I can easily follow directions in terms of what your pet needs to be safe in their home. Whether it’s getting them in a crate, walking around the neighborhood with their leash, playing outside if you have a patio, etc.
“We are so lucky to have found Xiomara to take care of our two cats!! She was so great with them, so caring, and provided such great photos, videos, and updates during her visits. We will absolutely be requesting that she take care of them again next time we are away. Thank you Xiomara!!”

“We are new to the area and were feeling anxious about finding a pet sitter that would be kind and loving to our babies. We could not be happier that we found Jaclyn on Rover and gave her the chance. From our first time doing a meet & greet, she was genuine, honest, and explained everything she would take care of while we were out of town. Our 3 kitties loved her from the moment they met her. She did a wonderful job of sending us daily reports and photos of our babies. She checked in daily through the Rover app, always on time. One thing that stood out was how detail-oriented Jaclyn is and how she paid attention to a subtle difference in one of our cats. She reported that our 17 year old kitty was breathing differently and sent us a video. Sure enough, our girl had an upper respiratory infection and had to go to the hospital for care. We are so grateful we found Jaclyn. She is trustworthy and responsible. More importantly, she loved our babies and our babies loved her!”

“We heavily rely on Sam’s support afforded to Athena, which has ranged from walks to/from dog care and house siting in our place. Sam is a pleasant detail oriented, exceptional communicator that our dog enjoys hanging out.”

About: I’ve been a dog owner all my life and I’ve also taken care of many other pets in my home and theirs while their families were traveling or working. I can also help with daily exercise and walks, baths, and some basic training. I have a flexible schedule and I love spending time with animals. I am very active and would love to help you take care of your pets. I own two dogs, one Australian shepherd and one Newfie mix. I live in a townhome with a small fenced patio for their entertainment but I will also walk your dogs two to three times a day or as requested while they are boarding with me. If your dogs are not dog friendly, I can separate mine so they don’t have to interact with each other. In your home, I’m open to following the routine you do with your babies.
“Deborah was great! My cat loved her and the photos and updates were so great to get while I was away. It was really reassuring to know that my cat was loved and taken care of by such a reliable and sweet person like Deborah. Will 100% be booking again with her.”

“Haley has a special talent to take care of cats. My two cats are very shy and not easy socializing with new people. Haley was able to establish a close and warm relationship with both cats in a couple of days. Both cats came to greet her warmly when she came back home to return my keys. Haley is very punctual and organized with her daily visits. She communicates very openly any adjustments in the visiting schedule, and she is reassuring, mature, serious and professional. Her visits include feeding, taking care of the litter boxes and playing with them. She truly has a special talent to connect with animals! I am already hiring her again for my next trip!”

“Savanna was excellent. She took great care while walking the pups and has a lot of patience and love for them. She let us know when she was on her way and they looked forward to seeing her by the second visit. Would recommend for sure”

“Jennifer did a great job taking care of my dogs. She is super sweet and can tell she’s an animal lover. She was punctual and gave my dogs love and attention. Will be using her again!”

About: I’ve been around and cared for animals for most of my life. In high school, I was part of a veterinary magnet program where I earned my CVA certification and got about two years of hands-on experience working as a vet tech. I spent around three years working in dog training as well. I’ve fostered both dogs and cats, which gave me experience helping animals with different personalities and needs adjust and feel comfortable. I have experience with pets of all different sizes and ages and I’m comfortable with feeding, walking, bathing, basic training, and of course giving them plenty of attention and love. Having pets of my own, I know how important it is to have someone you trust taking care of them. I currently work part-time and am also in school, but I have a flexible schedule that gives me plenty of time for pet care. I’m available throughout the week for walks, drop-ins, feeding, playtime, and other care depending on what you and your pet need. I always follow each pet’s normal routine and any instructions you leave for me. I’m comfortable handling different personalities and needs, and I’ll make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and gets plenty of attention while in my care. I’ll treat your home and your pets with the same care and respect I would my own.
“Priscilla was an absolute lifesaver! She came through for a last-minute booking and still made time to do a meet-and-greet beforehand to get to know my fur babies. She was attentive, kind, and followed all my instructions to a tee. Rocky and Mojo took to her right away and clearly loved their time with her. She also sent picture updates, which gave me such peace of mind while I was away. Both dogs behaved beautifully with her, which says a lot about the calm and trustworthy energy she brings. I’ll definitely be reaching out to her again for future walks or pet sitting. Highly recommended!”

“Yumeng is so great with my dogs, she goes above and beyond to make sure they are well taken care of. My dogs have alot of energy and make alot of mess, but she handles them very very well, would definitley reccomend her services! :)”

I currently work part-time from home, which allows me to provide attentive, personalized care for your pets. I offer boarding in my home and can also provide drop-in visits based on my availability. Every pet is treated like family and receives plenty of love, attention, playtime, cuddles, and regular photo updates while you’re away. I provide a clean, calm, and loving environment where pets can feel safe and comfortable while staying in my home. Katherine is an incredible caregiver. She treated Tamago as if she were her own. Her patience paid off, and after a few days, Tamago emerged from her shell and began to play and cuddle with her. Katherine also followed the instructions meticulously and kept me updated daily with detailed descriptions of Tamago’s progress. I would highly recommend her for Tamago’s care in the future!!!!

I had Aldana taking care of my 3 cats while I was out for 3 weeks and she did an excellent job. She is very attto their needs and we had an open and fast communication that helped a lot finished my anxiety being far for that long. Aldana told me she is moving to a different neighborhood so I wish her all the best! Thank you Aldana!

Dora Luz was fantastic! This was our first time using a service for KiKi and we were so pleased! It is obvious that Dora Luz is very experienced and our cat was very happy upon our return! We received daily updates and the pics were fabulous. We would definitely use her again! Thanks so much!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Westchester. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
