“Linda watched my cats sometime last year, and I just realized I never left a review!! Linda was AMAZING. She did everything I asked and then some. Sent me adorable selfies with my cat so you know she's a real animal lover. Sent me updates of her playing with my cat and was super understanding of her being a little bitey. HIGHLY recommend.”

“Cassandra was amazing with our shy cat and helped her feel comfortable to start coming out while we were away! Communication was great during our trip and we will definitely book her again.”

“Our fur baby Eli loved Emily! It was our first time using rover so we quite nervous, but Emily made us feel super reassured. She sent regular updates, and even cleaned his food bowls after. Will definitely be rovering with her again!”

“Toni was fantastic!!! Even though she never saw my little guy, he's a huge scaredy cat, she always updated me on every visit, took pics of his food (which he was eating) and noticed that he was bringing toys down from upstairs and playing with them. As long as he was eating, using the litter box and playing with his toys my mind was at ease. I really appreciate her help and would recommend her services to anyone! Thanks again, Toni for looking after my baby, Bruce!! :)”

“Jennifer was great with my pretty straightforward cats! They were well taken care of when I got back from my Thanksgiving trip. I appreciated the updates and photos. Would recommend Jennifer to anyone looking for cat help!”

“Highly recommend!! Colleen was attentive to my cat going the extra mile to make sure she was happy and very we cared for. I can’t imagine leaving my cat or any other pet in better hands!”

“Jordana was wonderful with my cat! She took great care of him and I felt good knowing he was in good hands while I was away. I will definitely look for Jordana the next time I go out of town!”

“Margaret did a fantastic job checking in on our kitty while we were away for a week, making sure he got all the attention and playtime he needs. I loved receiving the detailed notes and pictures after each check-in! We will be reaching out to her again when we travel, for sure 😊”

“Rita was fantastic! She was able to help take care of my cats last minute and I could tell they were well cared for! She left great photos and recaps of her visits. Would definitely recommend and will certainly use again!”

“Jordan has looked after our two geriatric cats twice now and we are really happy with her attentiveness, flexibility and communication. Jordan goes above and beyond - we are very happy with her care and will continue using Jordan’s services for cat sitting in the future.”

“Mary was an excellent pet sitter for our cat while we were away for 10 days. We received fun pictures and notes and I know that she was well cared for! Will definitely be using her in the future.”

“Megan was wonderful! She gave my super senior boy extra attention and helped him deal with his first alone time since losing his companion of 16 years. Will definitely be rebooking with her!”

“Marissa went above and beyond while taking care of our pets while we were out of town. It snowed A LOT and Marissa took the time to care for our home- she shoveled our front path and put down salt, and she was even so thoughtful that she put up the windshield wipers on our cars. We were dreading the conditions when we came home, but she was like a fairy godmother who made everything better!”

“This is our second time using Cara and we are always grateful for her. She demonstrates a lot of love and care towards our babies. She is very communicative and reliable.”

“Stephanie did an absolutely awesome job caring for my two cats for a month while I was traveling. You can tell the cats love her! There was a home renovation project in works during the time she watched the cats. She went above and beyond tracking them down when contractors locked them in rooms accidentally. It happened often! You can’t go wrong choosing Stephanie. Highly reliable!”

“Thank you for taking such great care of Lady! We could tell by the pictures provided that she had a great time playing in the backyard and she looks forward to hanging out with you again soon!”

Cassandra has watched our kitty on several occasions at this point and is my most trusted sitter! She's very communicative, sends pictures every day, and seems to love what she does. She's flexible, dependable, and follows instructions very well! Would recommend her to anyone for pet care. Our fur baby is in great hands with her.

Yasmine took great care of my cats while I was away for an extended trip. I needed a last-minute cat sitter, and she was incredibly reliable and easy to work with. She was very responsive/communicative, followed all of my instructions carefully, and always kept me informed of any observations or issues. It gave me peace of mind knowing my cats were in such good hands. I highly recommend Yasmine to anyone looking for a trustworthy and attentive cat sitter!

Catherine was incredible with my cats! She was prompt and thorough with our drop in visits. My two cats were well taken care of, oral medication were administered on time, and most importantly she was great at reading their body language and giving them exactly the attention they needed! I definitely recommend Catherine!

As always, Kara is the BEST. Our Oli was having some tummy problems when we left and Kara kept an extra close eye on her the whole trip. In fact, for the first time ever, Oli wasn’t even that excited when we got home, as she had such a great time with Kara!! Highly recommend Kara and she is our go to sitter.

Marissa went above and beyond while taking care of our pets while we were out of town. It snowed A LOT and Marissa took the time to care for our home- she shoveled our front path and put down salt, and she was even so thoughtful that she put up the windshield wipers on our cars. We’d like to thank Cole for his amazing help! We were in a difficult situation when our dog sitter disappeared on the very day we left for vacation. I was so nervous my vacation could be ruined. We suddenly had to look for someone new while already away, fully expecting it to be a complete stranger. But thank God, Cole turned out to be an incredible person who immediately stepped in and took great care of our pets. We are beyond grateful! A million thanks!!! Highly recommended - 100%! 🐾

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
