“John did an excellent job of taking care of our Puddles. He has a very welcoming home, loving demeanor, and cares deeply for the dogs he watches. John did a great job of sending daily updates and was able to give the needed medication without a problem. Highly recommend.”

“Once again, Emily was so wonderful! Buster is happy in her home now and gets along great with the other dogs, and loves being outside in her fenced yard!! Lots of pics were sent to me to show me how much he was enjoying his ‘vacation’!”

“Mac & his dog Beaker were friendly & welcoming. Murphy was with them 2 nights before being picked up by my daughter-in-law. She reported an easy pickup & that Mac had everything ready to go. Mac had reported that Murphy fit right in.”

“Katie and her family were very welcoming when we did the meet and greet. It gave us a lot of confidence in leaving our dog with them for a week! She was very communicative and sent us photos. We would definitely use her again!”

“Abigail went above and beyond in her care for our Lola! I think Lola enjoyed her visit very much, as it felt like Lola was missing Abigail and Cleo the day we brought her home. 🙂 Thank you for such great care!”

“Sidney did an incredible job with my German Shepherd! She sent pictures and checked in regularly to put me at ease. If you’re in Roanoke, Sidney as your pet sitter is the best choice you can make!!”

“If I could give more than 5 stars, I would, and so would my Beagle LuLu! Rebecca has watched her multiple times, and LuLu always has a blast at Rebecca's house. Rebecca is great about giving LuLu lots of supervised outdoor time.”

“This was our first time using Rover. We last minute booked with Lexi and she was able to accommodate and watch our 12 week old puppy. We never worried about him once. She sent lots of updates with pictures and videos. On our way home we got a flat tire and Lexi was completely understanding and let us pick him up later then intended. Highly recommend her for others and we would definitely use her again!”

“Karin and her family took great care of my dog. He had a great time and was very happy when I picked him up. I greatly appreciated the pictures Karon sent and her great communication.”

“Selena was awesome! I’m a first time dog mom and had a lot of nerves and concerns leaving my pup anywhere. Selena made me feel very comfortable and sent me daily update pictures. Woody loved her too, he was belly up by the end of the first day!”

About: I’ve had dogs since i was a baby, always been one of my favorite things. I’ve been told i’m an animal whisperer and have a special connection with pets i don’t even know! I’m currently a part time worker, i’d have plenty of time to take care of and watch your animals. l don’t spend much time away from home max would be 4-5hrs on certain days. I’m overly open with pets being out around the house, they can be crated if needed of course. I have a small fenced area but a leash would still be needed preferably due to my neighbors dogs.
“Amanda was great with our dog while we were away for over a week. Her dogs got along with mine and they even shared toys. She also has a large fenced in yard for him to run around. She sent lots of pictures and updates and did a great job communicating with us along with being very punctual and reliable throughout the stay and during drop off and pickup times. Would definitely recommend to others!”

About: Hello there! A little about myself- my name is Aleah and I am an animal loving nurse! We are new to this area as we moved here about four months ago! I volunteered at the SPCA for about two years, worked at Petco for a year and animal sat for family and friends during those times! I became a nurse about half a year ago and am deciding now that including a side quest like this would be nice for my animal loving heart when I’m not at the hospital! My twin sister also loves animals just as much, so if you decided this is the place for your fur baby to vaca then that means double the love! (Quadruple if you include our fur babies). We are very excited to meet new friends! My schedule varies due to working bedside as a nurse, but usually me or my twin sister are home! We will NOT accept times that one of us is not home. Your baby will be just as much of a priority to us as our own. We enjoy taking our fur babies on hikes, so if that is an interest we would be happy to take your fur baby as well! Our back yard is fenced in, but we won’t leave them outside without supervision. We go on regular walks around the neighborhood as well as playing with toys in the backyard!
“We were in Callaway, VA for a wedding and we left our pup with Maribel and her family for the day while we attended the event. Leading up to our trip, Maribel put me at ease with fast and professional communication and flexibility when our drop-off time changed. During the visit, Maribel shared awesome pictures of our pooch in action. Upon pickup, pup was all smiles and tail wags. It is evident that Maribel and her family treat your pet like their own during boarding. We were able to attend the wedding worry-free, knowing that Dante was in great hands. I HIGHLY recommend Maribel for your pet sitting needs.”

“Joe was great, he kept me up to date with my dog as well as sending me pics. He actually helped me to know that my boy is high energy lollz. He is usually not with me. Back to Joe, he was patient with Creed inspite of him not being able to Unwind, and get settled due to being in a new environment. Joe is kind, patient with a laid back vibe. Thanks Joe again for taking care of Creed.”

I’m currently working part time at a dog daycare so i’ll have plenty of time to spend time with your dogs and/or cats! My schedule is usually three days a week for about 4 hours most days but some days it will be 6 hours! I will follow any given instructions to keep your pet safe and happy! Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
95% of sitters in Webster can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Webster home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Webster.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Webster sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
