“I left my Australian Shepard with Isabelle for daycare for two days, as I was dropping him off for the second day he was so excited to see Isabelle which I knew it meant he was in good hands. Isabelle was always responsive and gave me updates while he was with her. She also took him along for their daily walk which I appreciated. Thank you again Isabelle!”

“Cheyenne is an excellent caregiver; our pet enjoyed staying with the sitter and socializing and playing with the other pets. Overall, Cheyenne is a competent and dependable caregiver.”

About: I’ve cared for, and have had dogs since I was a child, which has since grown into a huge love and passion for every canine! I’ve had multiple breeds and ages ranging from pups to seniors. I work full time however our home schedule can be flexible! I do have the ability to work from home at times. Our animals receive abundant amounts of attention and 1:1 time with countless hours of outside play! We have 3 older children that will help fulfill any high energy needs or give unending snuggles 💗 I have a fenced yard and 3 small dogs of my own to keep your baby company! I have a room for crates to keep your pup at nights or if we have to run errands so your pup and ours is safe! We have a basket of toys for entertainment.
“Alex was great! Super accommodating with our weird work schedule times for when we could pick up and drop off our puppy. She communicated throughout the entire day with updates and pictures for us. Our dog loved playing with her dogs! We will definitely be using Alex again!”

“My dog has a great time and came back happily tired out from playing. Lizy was responsive, and even took her on a walk. I do wish I had gotten more pictures/communication, but my dog seems happy, so I’m happy”

“Paul and Karina are familiar with our dog, Momo, but we adopted a second dog a couple of months ago who is dog-social but shy and skittish with people. We dropped her off for daycare and she warmed up after a bit and liked playing with their dog, Luna. Really appreciate all of Paul’s photos, videos, and efforts to make her feel comfortable.”

About: What could be better than a dog vacay at a real ranch? 2 ponds with bass and catfish to sniff out! Plenty of space to run and play with the other pups! There is a secure fence that surrounds the main house and another perimeter fence, that way the pups can only say hello to the cattle from a far. :) A special notice: there are cats and chickens on the property that roam around with the ranch dogs. Please keep this in mind as we love our chickens and cats as much as our dogs. I highly suggest a meet and greet for the newcomers before confirming a reservation at the ranch. The pups living the sweet life at the Sweet Ranch give it a unanimous "all paws up"!

About: I've had and cared for pets all my life, with usually no less than 3-4 dogs at any given time. Dogs, cats, lizards, fish, horses, cows, I've helped care for them all. I do work a full-time job, but only 2 days a week in the office. On those days, I can walk/drop in early or late. When working at home and on weekends, my schedule may be a little more open. If you can be a little flexible with times, we can make it work. I have a complete kit ready to go on walks, including treats for energy and a water bottle for water breaks. If a drop-in is requested, i can let your fur baby out or go on a brief walk to get some exercise, just let me know your preference.
“Star was wonderful! She kept me updated all day and sent me tons of pics which I loved. I could tell he was having a blast. She was quick to respond and made sure she knew everything she needed to know about Mufasa. They went on walks and he had a great play date with her dog. I would highly recommend her and definitely contact her again when we are in the area.”

“Amanda was absolutely amazing!! She took great care of Bentley and sent some awesome photos of Bentley!! He looked so happy and came home exhausted so I know he had an awesome time! Thank you so much for watching our pup while we were out! I recommend her and will definitely book again next time we are in the area!!”

“Our dog Dug had his first day care session today with Chen Mei and Gary. Just as I was missing him, they sent us a video and photos of Dug playing happily with Lucky and another dog they were boarding. Our pup came home happy and tired from all the playtime and went right to bed. ? Great with communication and are flexible and kind.”

“Jerica was awesome and let my pup be, which I appreciate! She’s not a super social dog and Jerica understood that and gave her the space she needed! She also gave me a brief summary of the day, which was great so I knew what to expect being back home with my pup. She also provided updates during the day!”

About: I am a lifelong dog lover that grew up with large (English labs) dogs all my life. I’ve been a trusted neighborhood dog sitter and have pet-sitted for many friends and families. I am currently a stay at home wife and home everyday to provide constant supervision, playtime and companionship for your dog! My schedule allows me to offer personalized care, including scheduled feeding times, frequent potty breaks, and plenty of attention, ensuring your pup feels right at home while you are away. I provide a safe, calm, and loving environment in my home. I have an upstairs patio, and my own friendly, 100-lb Labrador, Ranger, is always happy to have a playmate. While he is large, he’s incredibly sweet but very hyper, silly, and playful! He’s also crate trained. I am highly attentive to your dog's needs and can easily crate them if requested or if they need a quiet, comfortable space to rest.
About: I’ve had dogs since I was little and into college. I have a very sweet 3 year old Great Pyrenees mix and she is amazing with other dogs. We have a huge yard for your fur baby to run around in and during the holidays and starting 2026, I will be working fully remote, so your baby will have all the attention it needs. Hi! Starting mid Dec 2025 and all off 2026, I will be working fully remote, your fur baby will get all the attention they need! I can let them out in the morning, then we can take a walk around lunch time and let them out as they need in the fully fenced in backyard! Weekdays and Weekends are full of cuddles! I have a huge fenced in backyard and a 3 year old fur baby myself. Pets are allowed on furniture (unless you explicitly do not allow this for your baby).

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 1,365 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Waterloo. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Waterloo commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 1,365 sitters in Waterloo, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
