About: I enjoy playing and spending time with animals! My abilities extend from being able to go on long walks with energetic dogs, to simply providing comfort and affection to quiet cats. With my family owning many different rescue animals of our own, I have a lot of experience in caring and cleaning up after pets. I am currently on summer break, so I am able to stop by at almost any hour of any day! I have my own car, and should be free for most weeks of summer! For my cats I feed them wet food every night and scoop their litter. Alongside the litter, I often clean, sweep, and sometimes mop if needed for accidents. As for my dog, I try to walk him daily, and play with him every day during his hyper moods. We also try to visit the dog park often! I do have some experience in crafting together specialized meals for specific dietary needs.
“Elizabeth took great care of our cats and kept them from getting so bored while we were out of town! We will be using her again in the near future. Our furballs enjoyed her company!!!!!”

“Laura is always extremely communicative and very caring with our pup! Even in the cold weather, she didn’t rush him and gave him lots of opportunity to play! Short and sweet, but scroll farther back to see our other great reviews for her!!”

“Maddie was very punctual with my cats! She took great care to ensure they were well taken care of, and she took great photos which let us all relax knowing they were well cared for in our absence! Would definitely have her care for them again!”

“Kam did the job as requested keeping my kitties sane and fed in their family's absence. It was a great help because our regular sitter was unexpectedly unavailable and I had only a matter of hours to secure a new sitter. They were responsive and made themselves available to us on very short notice. I greatly appreciated that-- then I could go on our family vacation with our worries.”

“Amazing pet sitter! I always have complete peace of mind knowing my pets are in such caring and trustworthy hands. Great communication, dependable service, and lots of love for my pets. I highly recommend!”

“Ava was excellent director by her time as our sitter. She did drop in visits with our cat, and she was very communicative. We will use Ava again when we need to go out of town!”

“Maurissa did a late request drop in visit for my dogs and even made time to do a meet and greet first. She was on time, communicated during and after the visit was complete. We will definitely reach out again!”

“Danielle is great! Went out of town for a week and she dropped in daily to feed and check on our cats. She constantly updated me about the pets and followed instructions we left for them. She is great!”

About: I’ve had animals my entire life and bring both experience and genuine care to every pet I watch. I was raised on a farm surrounded by animals, and I’ve owned dogs for most of my life, including a small dog I cared for over 16 years. I currently have an 8-month-old Golden Retriever puppy, so I’m very comfortable with puppy energy, routines, and reinforcement of basic training. I work as a teacher Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4 PM. Because of this, I’m most available for pet care in the mornings, evenings, and overnight stays during the week. My schedule also allows for consistent availability on weekends, holidays, and school breaks, which gives me extra flexibility for walks, drop-ins, and extended care. When caring for pets, I prioritize maintaining their normal routines and making sure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship outside of my work hours.
About: I have had 6 dogs throughout my lifetime. I have experience with small and big dogs. I have the most experience with poodle breeds. I have experience in puppy training/adult dog training and senior dog care. I have 24/7 availability. I currently have a beagle mix named Reggie! I work hard to make sure he’s taken care of through play, feeding, and (most importantly) loved on. When I take care of dogs, I make sure they are adequately exercised outside, I make sure they are fed and have water, and I make sure they have enough mental stimulation to make them happy and healthy!
“Travis was absolutely fantastic with our sweet Sadie Rose. Our lovely girl is quite high maintenance due to her large size (Blue Merle Great Dane) and her medical issues from old age. He was caring and truly concerned for her well-being along with great communication and pictures of girl (also a few pics of our silly cats). Travis was on time and went above and beyond for us and our girl, Sadie. Highly recommend Travis!!”
About: I have been around animals for most of my life and absolutely love caring for them! I am the proud owner of an 11-year-old Mini Australian Shepherd who is a beloved member of my family. Through owning and caring for pets, I understand how important it is to find someone trustworthy, reliable, and loving to care for your furry family members when needed. I currently work part-time as a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) with OhioHealth. My schedule is flexible, and I am available most days. With advance notice, I can often make additional accommodations to fit your pet care needs I also worked at Petland for two years during high school, where I gained hands-on experience working with a variety of dog breeds, personalities, and ages. In addition to dogs, I have experience caring for cats and understand that every pet has unique needs and routines. I enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while in my care. I will follow your instructions for pet care in your home and any recommendations to keep your pet happy, healthy, and safe while in my care. I understand the importance of maintaining your pet’s routine and providing them with the attention and care they deserve.

About: I’ve cared for dogs of all kinds: From puppies to seniors, energetic to couch potatoes and everything in between!! I’m great with set schedules such as: walks, feedings, meds (if needed), any special commands or routines of sorts. I am guaranteed to have tail wagging reviews!! I’m currently transitioning into a new job, however weekdays I can be available after 3:30pm, as well as weekend open availability for overnights or drops or even just walks. Whatever you need I’d be happy to help you! I do not have the space at my own place for dogs or cats to stay. However I do have reliable transportation to get me to your home and tend to your fur baby!! I am great with any schedules left for me to follow as well as locking up prior to leaving.
About: I have taken care of a vast majority of pets but mostly cats and dogs. I have watched over many dog breeds especially ones with certain medical needs I am currently an online only student so I have plenty of free time to offer clients for those pets that need it. I can make the best out of any situation. Coming into a client’s home I will always ask the routine and/or needs your pet(s) has and make sure to keep them company when they need it

Krystal watched my 2 cats every other day for over 3 weeks. They warmed up to her very quickly. You can tell she loves cats and enjoys spending time with them. Even with my crazy schedule, she was able to accommodate me. She is a great communicator, and I will be using Krystal again.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Waterloo. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
