“Kim watched Sir Sparklepuff for 17 days, following our relocation. We had been worried about leaving him at such a transitional time, but she made the extra effort of meeting him prior to his stay with her, first in our home, then in her own. His stay seems to have gone quite well -- he was returned to us happy and well-cared for. Kim also sent us daily photos which were absolutely remarkable -- professional quality! She clearly spent time connecting with him, and playing with him. We are sure to use her services again, and cannot recommend her highly enough!”

“Sam was the best! Very accommodating and you know that she cares about animals. Treated my dog Jaxie like her own and I could tell she was loved and had a great time away from home. First time using this service and my expectations were blown away, will definitely rebook with Sam in the future! Would give more than 5 stars if possible.”
“We love Dixie and she lives dogs. We were fortunate to find her and have used her twice now for several days of overnight stays. Her house and property are perfect for any dog as there's plenty of space to run and Lounge out. But the great thing that really made me feel super comfortable was her love for animals and her attention to detail regarding feeding and sleeping arrangements. I have several more business trips coming up this year and Have No Reservations on using Dixie”

“We left Louie, our 10 year old toy poodle, with Pamela and her husband for 3 weeks. Louie needed to receive an assortment of medications throughout the day. Pamela was terrific! She took great care of Louie. She very clearly cares a lot of about pets and showed Louie a lot of love and attention. Her setting is ideal, located in the country surrounded by farmland. She has no pets of her own and only cares for one pet at a time. She sent us a lot of photos, almost every day, and told us how Louie was doing. We would definitely leave Louie with her again.”

“Took great care of my dog while out of town for a week. She has some separation anxiety and scratched a little sore on the top of her head but the communication was excellent and they cleaned her up and took necessary precautions so it didn’t get any worse. They also continue to socialize her with different dogs which we love! Came back happy as always! Definitely a safe and happy place for your dogs to stay.”

“Tim and Kathy are incredible people! They took such good care of our Caesar when we went away for the night. They sent pictures and sweet notes and we knew he was in the best of hands. If I could give 10 stars I would.”

“Kate and family took great care of our dog Arlo while we went on vacation. We received daily updates, and our kids especially loved the pictures/videos. We will definitely be returning customers. Thank you Kate!”

About: Like many others, I am a dog lover and was raised taking care of family dogs. Unlike others, that passion led to training and classes, competing in dog sports, and now, competing in dog shows. I have experience with many breeds of all sizes, senior pet care, reactive dog care and training. I would love to help you with your pet care needs! I work from home, so my schedule is very flexible and I can accommodate most dogs’ needs. I currently have open availability for boarding, daycare, walks, and drop in visits. Dogs are treated like one of my own! I take your dog out for leashed potty breaks several times a day, according to their needs. While I am working, your dog can settle on the couch or one of the many dog beds, or relax and play with my dogs (a Golden Retriever and a Foxhound). If your dog likes the crate, I have an extra for them. When I run errands, your dog will be crated or gated in a separate room from my dogs for safety. I live on 4 acres next and next to a cemetery, so I can take your dog for relaxing walks in a peaceful environment.
“I am so thankful I found Samantha to watch my high energy pup when my family went on vacation recently. She and her husband were so good with my guy. She was also very responsive to my constant checking in and sent tons of pictures and videos. I would 100% recommend her to anyone needing care for their fur babies. She was a true Godsend.”

“Our dog Casey had a wonderful time with this provider! She was welcomed into the family making friends with the host children and dogs. They went on nice long walks each day and had outdoor play time. I would definitely recommend using Ema!”

“My dog Honey loved her stay at Jeffery’s place- she didn’t want to leave the farm! He was extremely communicative and flexible. I was out of the country during Honey’s stay, and felt at ease knowing she was in excellent hands. Upon requesting the booking, Jeffery promptly called me to go over everything and make sure his place was the right fit. During Honey’s visits, I received daily updates along with videos and photos. She received daily exercise and lots of play time with the other pups. We will def be using Jeffery again in the future!”

“Heather was super responsive when asking about sitting my pups at the very last minute, and we are super appreciative! She sent pictures of my pups everyday, and checked in with us daily to let us know how they were doing. I could tell they both had a great time, and we would use Heather again!”

“Carol was absolutely incredible. My little dog Munchkin is a momma’s boy who really struggles being away from me. But with Carol he settled in and was eating, playing, and relaxing. She sent pictures and updates each day to let me know how he was doing and that really put my mind at ease since I’ve never used Rover or left Munchkin with anyone outside of family before. Munchkin is a cavapoo, so his fur can get tangled pretty easily as well but Carol brushed him every day and he came home tangle-free which really shows the care she puts into the dogs she boards. She made sure he was well cared for and loved, and I 100% recommend her for anyone wanting to board their dog and will definitely book with her in the future. She even had me fill out additional info regarding Munchkin just so she knew more about him and the best way to care for him while I was away. She was truly the best dog sitter I could have imagined leaving my little guy with. If you are looking for someone to treat your dog as their own, then Carol is definitely the way to go!”

“We are so grateful to Maxine! She took care of our pup on short notice when we had an emergency. Archie had a great time and we were relieved he was taken care of while we were away.”

“I am so happy with the level of care my dog gets with Dianna and Matthew! Dianna sends lots of pictures and updates so I know he is happy. When I can’t bring him along with me I feel very comfortable leaving him in their care.”

Kimberly took great care of our dog Fawkes. He is a rescue and has his challenges, but he warmed out to Kimberly quickly and we knew he was in good hands. It gave us such peace of mind knowing our baby was being well cared for. We will definitely use Kimberly again!

Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
