“Amber was a great host to our fur baby! When we dropped him off, it was like we didn’t exist! lol He had already established a connection. We also loved that Amber wanted to meet with us first which meant a lot. Overall, her communication was great, we got pictures along his stay and he gained a friend!”

“Once again Kathryn made our little Yogi feel right at home. She updated us throughout his stay with comments on his activity and behavior, as well as pictures. Yogi likes her home as much as he likes being home and it appears that his behavior and tendencies are the same at either location. Thank you so much Kathryn for making Yogi feel right at home!”

“Luna and her human parents adore Audree. Luna is so excited to come and play and stay! We love all the photos of Luna playing with her furry friends. Between Audree’s and the regular dogs. It’s always a fun play date. Best dog sitter and we feel so lucky to have found her.”

“Ligia, thank you so much for taking such great care of Cranberry. This was her first time away from home. You were so accommodating to her needs. Thank you for treating her like a princess.”

“My husband and I had a great experience with Sarah and Jacob. They watch our two boys for over a week and they were great at making us feel at ease while we were on vacation. Sarah was texting us updates, photos and videos of our babies through out the entire time they were there. We will definitely be booking with them in the future. Thank you again for watching our babies. 🐾”

“Amazing pet sitter, took care of dogs with such short notice and treated them with lots of care and love. Also, Matisa was very interactive during the boarding. Highly Recommend.”

“Meredith is an angel with our sweet pup! She kept him for the duration of our cruise, and updated us with several pictures and a video. She was able to cater to our specific feeding needs, as well as administering medication. We are so lucky to have a puppysitter that treats him with such love and care.”

“GG’s funny farm was amazing as always! I forgot to provide a slow feeder bowl, but luckily Heather had an extra one that Nova could use during her stay. Nova got lots of exercise and had a ton of fun. I also appreciate how organized and clean the dogs’ space is! I always feel great leaving Nova here because it’s like her home away from home 😊”

“Im really grateful for this family. My dogs seemed very happy and they felt the love. Thank you so much for taking care of them. I felt at peace the moment that I walked into your home. Looking forward for next time. ?thanks!”

“Lorena was great! This was my first time boarding my dog through rover so I was a little nervous but Lorena completely eased my mind. My dog had a blast playing in her huge yard and with the other dogs there. I received lots of pictures and updates while my dog stayed with her which made me feel so comfortable!”
About: I grew up in a house full of animals (dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, fish) and loved it. Less than a year after moving out to attend college I got my own puppy (Havanese). 12 years later I found myself getting a second dog after my parents and a sibling adopted her other 2 sisters (English Cream Golden Retriever puppies). We dogsit for them, and of course they come to family get-togethers, so we're used to having extra dogs in our house! In 2025 we said goodbye to our first dog, and a few months later welcomed home our foster-to-adopt puppy (chihuahua-beagle mix). The kids love playing and cuddling with dogs and understand when they need space. My job allows flexibility in my schedule to work from home when needed. I usually work early hours so that I can have more time available in the afternoons & evenings to spend with family. Caring for pets and considering their feeding/potty breaks is already part of our daily routine. Having my own home, family, and pets I understand how important it is to have someone trustworthy and respectful to take care of your pets. Your pet will be treated as one of our own.
“Erica was so great, I’m solo pet owner and had plans at the last minute, she was so great with Marvel on first visit and my accommodation for extra day. He is smaller so he takes a few minutes to observe before playing with big dogs, but once he gets started he loves play dates all sizes”

“I can always count on Dana to watch our dog, I always feel at ease whenever I leave him with her and he had another wonderful stay! Thank you for making your home his second home :)”

“Camryn and her husband cared for my two cats while my husband is on vacation. They sent us updates and were flexible with drop off and pick up. They were accompanying to my cats needs and they were happy and healthy upon pick up. Definitely will be requesting their services again!”

“Highly recommend! She took amazing care of our dog, kept us updated with messages and pictures. We felt completely at ease knowing our pup was in such great hands. Will definitely book again!”

“Heather did an awesome job watching our chocolate lab for a weekend. We felt very comfortable leaving our dog in her care and would do it again in a heartbeat. She sent us numerous pictures and updates on how our dog was doing. This was our first experience with Rover and I would definitely recommend Heather if you need someone to watch your dog”

“We had such a great experience! She was incredibly caring and loving with Luna, and it was clear Luna enjoyed her time there. I really appreciated the photo check‑ins, they gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Communication was excellent and she made leaving our dog with her stress‑free.”

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
